Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Pieces

Hello Crafty Lovelies and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by today to check out my post featuring the new Pinpoint Starlet Emboss and Cut folder from Simon’s latest release, Dream Big. There’s an Instagram Hop going on over there with lots of chances to win a $25 gift card to Simon’s store. You don’t want to miss out on that! So, let’s go through the details for this one!

For this project, I opted to use just the center cut portion of this folder, so I cut it thirteen times from Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock, and pulled out a bunch of Distress Oxide Sprays and sprayed each piece a different color. I’ll list all of the supplies at the end, if you’re interested in what I used.

Once all the pieces were dry, I pulled out a few Tim Holtz stamp sets and stamped on all of the pieces using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. For the sentiment, I used the SSS The World Needs and cut that three times from black cardstock and adhered all of them together using liquid glue.

My background paper is from 49 and Market and the pack is just gorgeous! I trimmed this piece down using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles, splattered it using Royal Talens Oxide Black Acrylic Ink and began the assembly process. I began by gluing the colored pieces along the left side of the panel in rainbow order, of course, in a step sort of way, and I glued the sentiment to the right side.

I felt like it needed something else, so I added a black butterfly to tie in all of the black elements going on, and trimmed off the excess. The panel was then adhered to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner before being adhered to the card base in the same way.

That wraps this one up! To be honest, I worked on so many different ideas with these pieces, and none of them were thrilling me, until I came up with this step idea. I’m still not in love with it, but I kind of like it. Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by today! Head on over and check out the Instagram Hop going on, and comment along the hop for your chance to win a gift card! Have a wonderful day and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Beachy Horizon

Hello Crafty Lovelies and welcome back! I’m so glad that you’re here! The latest Simon release, Dream Big, is now available and it’s a beauty! Today’s project is featuring the new stamp set, On the Horizon. So let’s get to the deets!

To begin, I ink blended a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using Distress Oxide inks in Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar. I thought these colors gave me the beach sunset vibe that I was looking for. Once the ink blending was complete, I used the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to trim it down and spritzed it with water.

I then stamped some of the beachy elements from the SSS On the Horizon set using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I ended up heat embossing it twice to get a smoother finish.

The stamped panel was then adhered to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner and the SSS Sentiment Strip was adhered using foam tape for a little bit of dimension.

Before adhering everything to the card base, I did splatter it using Royal Talens Oxide Black Acrylic Ink.

I’m not going to lie, I did have to redo the ink blending on a second panel, because I smudged black ink on the first one during the stamping process. Don’t you just hate it when stuff like that happens? Ugh, it drives me bonkers! Anyhoo, that finishes up this project. I hope you’ll stop by and take a look at the entire Dream Big release. Have yourself a wonderful day and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Birthday Floral

Hello Friends, and thanks for stopping by! I’m still playing with goodies from Simon’s latest release, Dream Big. What are your favorites from this one? Today’s project is featuring the new Terrace Floral Embossing Folder and Die Cut. This is a really beautiful folder with so many possibilities! Let’s go through the details.

I began by trimming a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock, spritzing it with some water and running it through the die cutting machine inside the folder.

Once the panel was ready, I did some ink blending on the flowers and leaves using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Lemonade, Citrine, Sprout, Fairway and Latte. I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a black panel for contrast using SSS Dot Tape Runner.

I used the SSS Happy Birthday Brush Script die for the sentiment. I cut it once from gold cardstock and once from black cardstock. I also cut the shadow twice from black cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

The sentiment was then adhered to the embossed panel using SSS 3D Foam Squares and then adhered to the card base. I added some PFS Gold Metallic Pearls for that little bit of bling, because all cards need a little bling, am I right?!

That does it for this one! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty! Don’t forget to stop by and check out the entire Dream Big release and let me know your favorites! Have an awesome day and stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Slay Every Day

Hello and welcome back! I’m so glad you stopped by! Today’s project is featuring the new Blossom Vine from Simon’s latest release, Dream Big. I always love floral die cuts and this one was no exception! Let’s get into the details, shall we?

To start, I die cut the SSS Blossom Vine a bunch of times from Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock. A bunch meaning eight times maybe. Then I pulled out an assortment of rainbow colored cardstock and die cut the floral from all of those as well. Yes, lots of die cutting! But, I do love making my own backgrounds using die cuts.

Once all of those were cut, I adhered them together using liquid glue, offsetting them just slightly so that you could see the colors beneath. I used the SSS Detail Bohemian Plate to cut a background for the flowers and glued the flowers atop that trimming off the excess.

I used the Slay Every Day sentiment from the SSS Yay You set and stamped that using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I did heat set it a couple of times to give it a smoother finish. I then used the coordinating die to trim it out, and cut an extra to glue to it for more stability. The sentiment was then glued to the floral panel.

That panel was then adhered to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner before being adhered to the card base. I added some PFS Iridescent Clear Drops for a little shine and sparkle to finish up.

That does it for this one! I hope you enjoyed it and I hope it inspires you to get crafty making your own backgrounds! Don’t forget to check out the entire Dream Big release over on Simon’s website. Have a wonderful day and stay awesome!
