Simon Says Stamp Snowy Warm Hugs

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Today I’m featuring the new Simon Says Stamp Exclusive die cut from Tim Holtz, Be of Good Cheer! What a fun little set to play with, AND it’s free with any $25 Tim Holtz branded purchase! Hurry though, this offer is only while supplies last! I created a few projects with this set, so let’s go ahead and go through the first one.

I began this project by embossing a panel of watercolor paper using the Snowflake Visions Embossing Folder. I used watercolor paper because I knew that I was going to be adding moisture, and I wanted a paper that good withstand that. I added some TH Distress Spritz in Uncharted Mariner and let that dry some before adding some Peacock Feathers Spritz. When that was dry, I used a brayer and white ink to roll over the raised portions of the panel to brighten it back up. I wasn’t done there .. I also added some white splatter to the panel as well.

I set that aside to dry while I worked on the snowman. The snowman is several pieces so I cut the coordinating pieces from Neenah, black, blues, grey, orange and pink. Once those were all cut, I assembled the snowman using liquid glue. I also cut a silver frame using the SSS A2 Thin Frames set, and the Warm Hugs was also cut from silver cardstock as well. I did two additional cuts from Neenah and cut the shadow twice from Neenah and glued all of those pieces together for that stacked sentiment look.

The silver frame was glued to the panel, while the sentiment and the snowman were adhered using foam tape before being adhered to the card base.

Simon Says Stamp DieCember 2024 Blog Party

My project today is featuring the new Hanging Leaf Ring, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

In October I made a shadow box frame and since then, I’ve been itching to make another! The cute flowers and leaves from the Hanging Leaf Ring set seemed to be begging for their place in a frame, so that’s what I set out to do! I die cut around thirty five of the various sizes of flowers for this project and did some light ink blending on most, while a small few had some darker ink blending. The colors that I used were Bubblegum, Carnation, Seafoam, Ocean, Cantaloupe and Sherbet.

Once all of the ink blending was complete, I assembled the pieces of the largest flowers and added an Opal Dazzling Gem to the center of each flower. It’s a lot of flowers, but it actually went fairly quickly! I die cut a few of the leaves from this set using Smoke cardstock, along with a few leaves using the Budding Branches die.

While I was die cutting, I went ahead and cut the sentiment twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and cut the shadow twice from black cardstock. All of the pieces were adhered together using liquid glue, and I went ahead and put foam strips on the back.

Now that all of the components were ready, I cut a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and splattered it with some black acrylic ink before beginning the assembly process. I began by figuring out the center and glued the leaves in place before adhering the sentiment. I then adhered the eight larger flowers and then adhered the remaining smaller flowers around everything.

To finish up, I added more Opal gems to the berry portion of the Budding Branches and put the panel back into the frame. That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I really love how this turned out and am wanting to make one for myself.

Simon Says Stamp Leafy Hello

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Abundant Leaf Background from Simon’s latest release, Festive Fun. Let’s get right into the details, shall we?

I began this project by die cutting the Abundant Leaf Background from a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock. While the die cut was still in the panel, I did some light ink blending using Pine and Sage inks for some added depth. I knew that I wanted a floral card, so I pulled some flowers and went to work on those.

The flowers that I used for this card were the Layered Dandy Flower, Etched Crocus Stems and the Simple Flowers. I cut those from aqua and pink cardstock and did some ink blending on those as well using Bubblegum, Carnation and Mist inks. I should mention that I cut the centers of the flowers from yellow cardstock. Once my ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers that needed it using liquid glue.

My background was created using a forest green cardstock with gold splatter, and I glued my leaf background to that. Most of the flowers were adhered using foam strips, while a few were glued directly atop the leaves. The hello sentiment was cut once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock, while the shadow portion was cut once from vellum. All of those pieces were adhered together and then glued directly to the panel. The panel was added to a Cotton Candy Pre-Scored card base, which is also from the Festive Fun release, and some Surf Dazzling Gems were added to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Snowflakes

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Falling Snowflakes Acetate Foil Transfer Sheets from Simon’s latest release, Festive Fun. Let’s go ahead and go through the details!

I began this project by silver foiling the acetate sheet to create a shaker card. To build the shaker, I used the PFS Stitched Scallop Rectangle to create a frame and applied glue around the edges and adhered the acetate sheet. I then added foam strips around the edges to create the well for my glitter shaker bits. A plain white panel was then adhered to that to contain everything. I did have some edges hanging out, because I don’t have the steadiest of hands, so I trimmed that off with scissors.

I stamped the Merry & Bright sentiment, which is from the Big Holiday Words set, using VersaMark ink onto black cardstock and heat set that using Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out using the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts, because I love that stacked sentiment look! The panel was adhered to the card base, the sentiment was glued in place and some Opal Dazzling Gems were added to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Autumn Blessings

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Simon’s latest release, Festive Fun, is live and I’m back today with a project featuring the new Abundant Leaf Background. Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I began this project by cutting the Abundant Leaf Background two times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. While the die cuts were still in the panel, I did some ink blending using Honey, Latte, Limelicious, Melon and Zest inks. As you can tell from these colors, I was going for a fall vibe on this one. You’ll see later on where I did a more springy version. Once the ink blending was complete, I cut the stems apart so that I could arrange them how I wanted.

My background was created using the Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangles with a bunch of gold splatter. I began arranging the leaves in a side arch to determine what sentiment I might use. I cut the Grateful sentiment once from gold cardstock and twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock, and cut the shadow portion twice as well. All of those were adhered together using liquid glue and set aside while I assembled the card.

The background panel was adhered to the card base, and I began gluing the leaves to the panel. The sentiment was adhered using foam strips and I added this sub-sentiment, which is from the new Gratitude Sentiment Strips, using foam strips as well. I used the included smaller die to cut green “berries” and added those to the card, as well as some gold metallic pearls in some spaces for some added shine.

My project for today is featuring the new Poinsettia Swag. This is a really pretty stamp, and I enjoyed giving it a soft feel with watercoloring. Let’s dive into the details, shall we?

I began this project by stamping and gold embossing the floral twice onto a panel of watercolor paper. My style of watercoloring is very simple, mainly because I don’t really know any other way. I used Karin Brushmarkers and scribbled the color onto my glass mat and used a water brush to add the color to the image. Where I wanted more color, I just added more concentrated ink. Nothing fancy at all.

Once the watercoloring was complete, I fussy cut the images and set those aside while I worked on the other elements of the card. My background texture was created using the Poinsettia Field Embossing Folder. As always, I needed more leaves so I used the Holly Sprigs and cut those from green cardstock. I did end up using Artichoke ink to add some shading to the additional leaves.

This sentiment, which is from the Big Holiday Words set, was stamped using VersaMark ink and heat set using Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out using the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment. The green leaves were adhered to the panel using liquid glue, while the florals were adhered using foam tape. The sentiment was glued to the panel and I added a few gold metallic pearls to finish up.

Simon Says Stamps Golden Snowflakes

Hello Friends, and welcome back to my blog! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Falling Snowflakes Acetate Foil Transfer Sheets from Simon’s latest release, Festive Fun. Let’s jump right into the details!

I began this project by gold foiling one of the Falling Snowflakes acetate sheets. These sheets are A2 sized, but I trimmed mine down, because I wanted to make a snowy shaker card. I cut a black panel, adhered 1/8″ Scor Tape to the edges of the acetate panel, and closed it up on three sides around the black panel. At this point, I added a bunch of glitter, maybe too much glitter, but oh well! Once all of the glitter was added, I sealed up the last side to keep it all contained.

The Joy sentiment was die cut once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock, and the shadow portion was cut twice. The pieces were all adhered together using liquid glue, and the sentiment was adhered to the acetate using foam strips. The shaker panel was then adhered to the card base to finish up.

That does it for this one! A super, simple one for today, but I love how it turned out! I really wasn’t sure about the black, white and gold at first, but it definitely grew on me. Simon Says Stamp Artsy Hello

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the Artsy Florals from Simon’s latest release, Sweet Wishes. Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I began this project by stamping the main flower from the Artsy Florals set using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting that with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I used Copic Markers BG72, BG75, BG78 and Y17 to color the image before cutting it out. I also used a Copic Multiliner to add some black dot detail to the center of the flower as well.

My next step was to create a background using the Wistful Leaves Embossing Folder. I did some light ink blending on the leaves using PFS Tidal Pond ink, and then used the Rainbow Splash Black ink pad to create the “black out” effect on the panel. I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to the card base.

I used the Lush Leaves and cut some of those from black cardstock, and went ahead and cut the sentiment, as well. I cut the hello, which is from the Handlettered Greetings set, once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock and adhered all of the pieces together for that stacked sentiment look that I love.

The black leaves were glued in place, while the central flower was adhered using foam tape. To finish up, the gold sentiment was glued directly to the center of the flower.

Simon Says Stamp Floral Sparkle Strands

Hello Friends, and welcome back! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Sparkle Strands stamp from Simon’s latest release, Sweet Wishes. This is a really fun stamp, and I can see using it in many different ways! Let’s go ahead and go through the details.

I began this project by stamping the Sparkle Strands onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using PFS Misty Coast ink. I then trimmed it down using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames, and went to work on the other elements of the card.

I used the Divine Peony and cut that three times from Neenah 110lb and cut the leaves and centers from black cardstock. I did some ink blending on the layers of the flowers using Bubblegum and Sunbeam and then assembled those layers using liquid glue. The sentiment, which is from the Friendship Leafy Cluster set, was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat set using Detail White Embossing Powder. That was trimmed out with the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment look.

Time for assembly! The panel was adhered to the card base, and the leaves were glued in place, while the flowers were adhered using foam tape for a bit of dimension. The sentiment was glued in place, and white pearls were added to the strands to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Artsy Birthday Instagram Hop

I began this project by stamping one of the circle elements from the set a bunch of times using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting them using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I also stamped another circle detail and dots within the centers for some added interest.

Once everything was stamped, I colored the artsy circles using Copic Markers in RV55, Y38 and BG01. I decided on these colors after pulling an inspiration card from my Color Cubes, because I get stuck on colors sometimes. I die cut the You once from black glossy cardstock and twice from regular black cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue. The sub-sentiment is from the You stamp set, and that was stamped using VersaMark Ink and heat set using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder.

My background uses the SSS A2 Marquee die and some black splatter. I adhered a few of the arty circles with glue and some with foam tape, and both of the sentiments were adhered using foam strips for that added dimension that I love.
