Simon Says Stamp You Are Amazing

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project! This project is featuring the new You die and You stamp set from Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You. Let’s go ahead and roll through the details!

I really like creating backgrounds with single dies, and Simon’s new You die was perfect for this technique! I began this project by die cutting the new SSS You a bunch of times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I also die cut the SSS Divine Peony and did some ink blending on that using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Morning and Galaxy.

Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the florals using liquid glue, and then decided that I wanted the leaves to be black, so I went back and cut those. To begin assembly, I cut a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles and splattered it using black acrylic ink. When that was dry, I began adhering the You die cut to cover the panel and trimming off the excess.

I adhered the leaves in place and then adhered the larger flower using SSS 3D Foam Strips for added dimension. The card was missing something, so I cut the You from black cardstock and adhered that using foam strips, and that brought things together, in my opinion. I then used the new SSS You Stamp set and stamped the sub-sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, heat set that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and adhered it with the same foam strips.

Once everything was complete, I adhered the panel to a black panel for contrast using SSS Dot Tape Runner, and then everything was adhered to the card base to finish up.

That does it for this card! I love creating my own backgrounds using die cuts, and I love creating beautiful flowers, so this card was right up my alley! I hope you enjoyed it! Simon Says Stamp Hello Leaf Border

Hello and welcome back to my blog! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Arching Leaf Border from Simon’s latest release, Cheering For You. I’ve been stuck on color combinations lately, so I took inspiration for this project from the Color Cubes. So, let’s get into the details!

I began this project by die cutting the Leaf Border from Neenah 110lb cardstock, die cutting the SSS Beautiful Buttercup from two shades of purple cardstock and die cutting the extra leaves from the border set from a peacock type color. I pulled some inks that I thought matched my inspiration, which you can see slightly in the photos. The inks that I used were PFS Tidal Pond, Opulence and Lush Forest. The border was ink blended with the Tidal Pond and a little bit of the Lush Forest, while the flowers were ink blended using the Opulence.

Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers using liquid glue and decided on a background. I ended up choosing a dark green panel and splattered it quite liberally with gold acrylic ink. When that was dry, I glued the border in place and then adhered the flowers using foam strips. The darker leaves were tucked in where needed and secured with glue.

Now that I had the card layout, I needed to find a sentiment that would fit! I landed on the SSS Hello Dies and cut that once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock and adhered all of those together for that stacked look. I went ahead and glued that atop the panel before adding some PFS Gold Metallic Pearls to bring everything together.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it! This is a weird color combo, but I quite like how this one came out! According to the Color Cube inspiration, my green layer actually should have been a dark teal color, but I didn’t notice that until it was too late. Simon Says Stamp Birthday Blooms

Hello Friends and thanks for joining me! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Fresh Blooms Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release, Cheering For You, along with the new You die cut. Let’s jump right into the details!

I began this project by ink blending a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Sunbeam, Seafoam and Lilac. Once the ink blending was complete, I put the panel in the folder and ran it through the machine.

For the sentiment, I used the new SSS You die cut and cut that once from black glossy cardstock and twice from regular black cardstock and adhered all the layers together using liquid glue. I stamped the happy birthday portion, which is from the new SSS You stamp set, onto a scrap of black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. The You portion was glued to the panel, while the birthday portion was adhered with SSS 3D Foam Strips.

The panel was then adhered to a black splattered card base with foam tape, for added dimension, to finish up.

Spellbinders Merry Everything

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Spellbinders Night & Day Pines Press Plates, along with the Mistletoe Greetings Press Plates. Let’s not waste time and get into the details!

I’ve used the Night & Day Pines Press Plates on a previous project, but I used the “day” plate, and today’s project features the “night” plate. I began this project by inking up the plate with BetterPress Black ink and running it through the machine. I did this a couple of times to make sure that I was getting good coverage. Once that was done, I did some ink blending on the panel using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Artichoke and Latte.

I trimmed the panel down using the Spellbinders Nested Postage Labels & Tag set and then went on to foil the sentiment. This is a great holiday sentiment set, because it foils multiple sentiments at once. It foils multiples and cuts multiples at once, which is such a time saver! I wanted some gold leaves so I used the Spellbinders Poinsettia Bloom to achieve this. I thought the berries looked nice as well, and decided to use those too. I did go back and cut the berries from red cardstock and adhered those atop the gold berries.

The leaves and berries were glued in place, and I adhered the white sentiment banner atop a gold banner using SSS 3D Foam Strips, and then glued that in place. Everything was the adhered to the card base to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Bright Starry Sky

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m back today with a card featuring the new Starry Sky Foil Transfer Cards from Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You. Have you checked out the new release yet? I would love to know your favorites! Let go through the deets for this one, shall we?

I began this card by foiling the Starry Sky panel using pink foil and the Minc Mini. Once the foiling was done, I trimmed it down using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frame and adhered it to a black panel.

I used the SSS You Brighten My Day for the sentiment and cut that once from SSS Color Blend Cardstock and twice from black cardstock. I also cut the shadow portion twice and adhered all of the pieces together using liquid glue for a stacked sentiment.

The panel was adhered to the card base and the sentiment was adhered using SSS 3D Foam Strips for added dimension.

Simon Says Stamp Birthday Sunflower Pattern

Hello Friends, and welcome back! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Sunflower Pattern Stencil from Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You. Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

I began this project by taping the Sunflower Pattern Stencil to a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and doing some ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Lemonade, Honey, Clay and Latte. Once the ink blending was complete, I trimmed the panel down using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles, and splattered it using gold acrylic ink.

The centers of my flowers weren’t showing up as well as I would have liked, so I just went over those dots with a Sharpie. I used the SSS Big Old Birthday Stamp set for the sentiment and stamped that onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I then used the coordinating die to trim that out, along with two extra cuts to adhere all of those together.

The sentiment was adhered to the panel using SSS 3D Foam Strips and the panel was then adhered to a black panel for contrast before being adhered to the card base to finish up.

Another super simple card for today, but I like how this one turned out! I have to tell myself sometimes that not every card needs to be some elaborate creation that takes all day! Simon Says Stamp Foiled Starry Sky

I never seem to have enough birthday cards, so I knew I wanted to make this card into a birthday card. I began by foiling the SSS Starry Sky Transfer Card using Thermoweb Lapis Watercolor Foil and my Minc Mini. Once the foiling was complete, I used the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames to trim it down.

I used the SSS Basic Box Card Happy Birthday sentiment and cut that once from silver cardstock and twice from black cardstock. I also cut the shadow portion twice and adhered all of the pieces together using liquid glue.

The panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape and the sentiment was glued directly to the panel to finish up.

A super simple card for today, but this Lapis foil is really beautiful and has an interesting feel to it. I hope you enjoyed this project, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space. Simon Says Stamp Faithful Florals

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You, is live, and I’m back today with a project featuring their new Acetate Card Base. This was my first time using an acetate card base, and I’ve got to say, I am in love! Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

I began this card by working on the florals using SSS Dreamy Daisy Layers, Etched Magnolia Blossom, Charming Daisy and the Etched Berry Branch. All of these were cut from colored cardstock and ink blended using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Carnation, Seafoam, Ocean and Pearfection. Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flower pieces using liquid glue.

For the white base, I used the Memory Box Circle Basics set and cut two circles from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I splattered one with gold ink and adhered the flowers to it, beginning with the leaves and then adding the flowers on top. I used SSS Surf Pawsitively Dazzling Gems to add to the “berry” portion of the leaves.

The sentiment is from the SSS Just Breathe set and I stamped that onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink, and heat set it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. That was trimmed out using the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment.

The sentiment was glued in place and the circle panel was adhered to the acetate using Scor-Tape. The second circle was adhered inside the card behind the front circle. This was done to ensure that you wouldn’t be able to see the adhesives.

Spellbinders Birthday Balloons

Hello Friend, and welcome back to my blog! Today’s project is featuring the new Spellbinders Sprinkled Confetti BetterPress Press Plate in the form of a fun birthday card! Let’s get into the details!

I began this project by foiling the Sprinkled Confetti plate using gold foil and trimmed it down using the Spellbinders Nested Postage Labels and Tag set. I then went to work on the balloons using various pink cardstock colors and the Spellbinders Color Block Balloons set.

Once the balloons were assembled, I added some flowers to the balloons for some added interest using the Spellbinders Mini Blooms and Sprigs set. These were flowers that I already had made from a previous project, and I thought they added a nice touch.

I foiled the Happy Birthday sentiment, which is from the Spellbinders Birthday Celebrations Collection, using the same gold foil, and trimmed it out with the coordinating die along with three additional cuts and stacked those. Unfortunately, this Glimmer Hot Foil set of sentiments has been discontinued.

I adhered the balloon strings using liquid glue, and the balloons along with the sentiment were adhered using foam strips. Everything was then adhered to the card base to finish up.

That does it for this project! Even though this plate is included in a holiday collection, I thought it would be great for a birthday card. I can totally see it as snow too! Spellbinders Amazing Florals

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks so much for joining me for today’s project featuring the new Spellbinders Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. I look for any excuse to use the many, amazing flowers from Spellbinders, and today’s project gave me just that opportunity! Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I began this project by embossing the Argyle Plaid onto a panel of black cardstock. I knew that I wanted a black and gold background with lots of flowers, so I then took gold ink and a brayer and rolled that over the raised portions of the panel. Yes, it messed up in one or two places, but I love the look just the same!

Next, I die cut a bunch of flowers and leaves from pink and green cardstock using the Spellbinders Club Blooms and the Spellbinders Sealed Leaf Sprigs. I also die cut some of the flower centers from black, gold and yellow cardstock as well. Once the cutting was done, I used SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Carnation, Honey and Pearfection and did some ink blending before assembling the flowers.

This super awesome sentiment is from the Spellbinders Making Me Smile Sentiments Hot Foil set, and I foiled that using gold foil onto black cardstock and trimmed it out with the included die. This is one of those sets that creates multiple sentiments at once, and that is a game changer! I did two extra cuts and adhered the three layers together using liquid glue for a stacked sentiment.

Now to assemble this masterpiece! I adhered the embossed panel to the card base and glued the leaves in place first, followed by the flowers. The two larger flowers, as well as the sentiment, were adhered using foam strips for a little added dimension. To finish up, I added some PFS Gold Metallic Pearls to tie everything together.
