Simon Says Stamp Relax Snake Plant

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the new Snake Plant Stencil and Die from Simon’s latest release, Moments In Time. Let’s jump right into it.

I began this project by gathering a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock, my inks and a Craft Tacky Mat. This stencil set has five stencils, so the inks that I used were Celery, Limelicious, Fairway, Pearfection and Emerald.

Once the ink blending was complete, I used the coordinating die to cut out the leaves. I also cut the leaves from Fern and black cardstock and adhered all of those together, offsetting them slightly. This was then adhered to a Forest panel that I had previously gold splattered.

The sentiment, which is included with the die set, was cut once from gold cardstock and once from black cardstock, while the shadow portion was cut twice from the same Forest cardstock. This was then glued directly atop the leaves to finish up.

That does it for this one! The snake plant always reminds me of my Mom, as she always had one on the front porch. I would love to have one, but the google machine says that they are toxic to cats, and I’m a cat person. Oh well. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp You Are Amazing Vintage Bloom

Hey There, Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by! Today’s project is featuring the new Vintage Blooms from Simon’s latest release, Moments In Time. This is a super simple project, but I always love dark and dramatic cards, so let’s go ahead and go through the details for this one!

This Vintage Blooms stamp set has two larger floral images, and I decided to just use one of them on the corner of a black panel. I stamped the floral using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat set it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then took a deckle edged ruler and ripped off the remaining portion of the panel.

I wanted that rough edge to have some detail, so I rubbed the VersaMark Ink pad along the edge and heat set it using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. Before adhering the stamped panel to another black panel with foam tape, I gold splattered that for some additional interest.

The sentiment is from a discontinued Simon set, but in looking on their website, Papertrey Ink has some similar items that would work great too. I die cut the sentiment once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock for a stacked sentiment and then glued that along the torn edge.

Simon Says Stamp Mini Slimline Daisies

Hey There, and welcome back to my blog. I’m so glad you stopped in to check out today’s project featuring the new Tattered Daisy and Thank you Text background stamp from Simon’s latest release, Moments In Time. Let’s get into the details for this one!

I began by die cutting the daisy five times from Neenah 110lb cardstock, and cutting the stems from Fern cardstock. I then did some ink blending on the flowers using Bubblegum, Sunbeam, Honey, Seafoam, Surf and Heather inks and then assembled the flowers. I was too lazy to go back and cut the centers from black cardstock, so I just used my Rainbow Splash Black ink pad to color those.

The background was created by stamping the Thank You Text onto a panel of Neenah and heat embossing it using Detail White Embossing Powder. I then used the same inks from the ink blending and smooshed them one at a time onto my glass mat with a spritz of water and did some smooshing onto the panel using a piece of left over plastic from packaging. Because I had white on white embossing, it was quite hard to tell which direction the text went until I added the ink, of course! I had originally wanted the rainbow to go from left to right, but that didn’t work out, so I sucked it up and just went with it, because again, I was lazy.

The sentiment, which is from the Thank You Basics set, was stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set using the same white embossing powder as before. I trimmed that down and began assembling the card.

I decided on placement and glued the stems to the panel while the flowers were adhered using foam strips. I trimmed off the stems and adhered the sentiment with foam strips as well. This was then adhered to a black panel before being adhered to the card base, and some clear drops were added to finish this project up.

I don’t normally do mini slimline cards, but this design warranted a larger canvas to achieve the rainbow pattern. I hope you like it! It certainly was a fun project to work on! Don’t forget to check out the entire Moments In Time release, and have yourself a fabulous day!

Simon Says Stamp Thank You Daisy Bundle

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! The latest Simon release, Moments in Time, is live and today’s project is featuring the new Tattered Daisy along with the Thank You Text background stamp. I kind of went crazy with this flower die cut, so you’ll be seeing it a bunch! Let’s go ahead and go through the deets for this project.

I began this project by die cutting the daisy five times from Neenah 110lb cardstock and did some ink blending using Seafoam, Surf, Marine, Cadette, Heather and Field. I did also use the Rainbow Splash Black ink pad to color the centers of the flowers, because I was feeling a bit lazy and didn’t feel like going back to cut those from black cardstock. Just keeping it real for you .. I do get lazy from time to time. Once the ink blending was complete on all of the pieces, I assembled the flowers and set those aside while I worked on the other elements of the card.

I have a bunch of gold splattered panels sitting around from a class that I taught, so I went ahead and used one of those and stamped the Thank You Text onto that using Misty Coast ink. I chose this ink, because it’s a very light ink and does really well when you’re wanting a barely there type of image. While I was stamping, I went ahead and stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat set that using Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out using the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for that stacked sentiment that I love.

For the assembly, I arranged and determined placement and then secured the stems in place using liquid glue, while the flowers and sentiment were added with foam strips. The panel was adhered to the card base and some clear drops were added to finish up.

Lovely Heart Grids Featuring Your Paper Insider

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! I recently received Box 11 from Your Paper Insider, and went to work on creating a few cards! If you haven’t looked into Your Paper Insider, I encourage you to do so! It’s a quarterly subscription box filled to the brim with interesting and gorgeous papers from all over the world! Let’s go ahead and go through the details for this set!

All of the cardstock for both of these cards came from Box 11 with the exception of the black. I thought the pink and purple paired nicely with this awesome purple glitter paper! I began this project by die cutting the SSS Printmaking Hearts once from all three of the colors.

For one of the cards, I opted to splatter the card base with Distress Oxide Sprays in Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet, while the hearts for the second card got the splatter. I just wanted to mix up the design a little between the two cards.

I placed foam strips on the back of the hearts and secured them to the card bases, mixing up the pattern, but still having the glitter heart in the center. The sentiments were stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. They were trimmed out along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment, and adhered directly to the heart using liquid glue.

Spellbinders Layered Poppies

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the Layered Wildflowers along with the Scallop & Stitched Edge Ovals from the Spellbinders May releases. Let’s go ahead and get into the details.

While this set has three different flowers, I opted to only use one of them. I began this project by die cutting the flower pieces from Poppy, Fern, Beeswax and black cardstock. I did some ink blending on the petals and centers using Cranberry and Honey inks. Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers and set them aside while I worked on the remaining elements.

I used the larger scallop oval to cut from black cardstock and used one of the stitched ovals to cut a smaller panel from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I used the Journal Grid to add texture to that white panel for some added interest, as well as some black splatter. I did go ahead and splatter the card base as well to tie everything together.

The sentiment was gold foiled onto black cardstock, and I added foam strips to the back of that. The stems were glued into place and the flowers were adhered with foam strips, as well as the sentiment for a bit of added dimension.

Pinkfresh Regal Florals

Hey There! So glad that you stopped by! For today’s project, I’m revisiting my desire for dark, dramatic Pinkfresh florals! I really like how this one turned out, so let’s go ahead and go through the details!

I began by die cutting the Fresh Florals from Purple Mist and Green Apple cardstock. I did some ink blending on the florals using Regal Kiss and some on the purple leaves using Soft Lilac. For the green leaves, I used C9 Avocado ink. I went back and cut a few centers from gold cardstock and went ahead and assembled the flowers using foam strips between the purple and green layers. I also glued the leaves together, offsetting those slightly.

The Leafy Lattice was gold foiled onto Plum cardstock and trimmed out using the coordinating die cut. The sentiment was gold foiled as well on the same plum cardstock and trimmed out three times for a stacked sentiment.

The background was created using the PFS Sparkling Diamonds plate, which I think was discontinued. That’s a shame, because I really do love this die cut. I adhered the lattice to the panel using liquid glue, and then began gluing the leaves in place. The sentiment was adhered using foam strips, and the flowers were the last thing to be adhered.

That does it for this project! While I do love the pastel vibe of Pinkfresh, I also love a dramatic Pinkfresh project as well! Spellbinders Birthday Field Notes

Hello Friends and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the Field Notes Wildflowers along with the Molded Frame 3D Embossing Folder from the Spellbinders April releases. I got a little behind from traveling and then being sick for a week, so I’m playing a little bit of catch up! Let’s go ahead and go through the details for this one.

I began this project by creating the background first using the Molded Frame Embossing Folder, trimming it down slightly and then adding some splatter. The next step was to cut the flowers pieces using Neenah 110lb cardstock and Fern cardstock.

I placed tiny pieces of foam tape on one of the floral pieces and then adhered the other piece atop that for a more dimensional look. This was then adhered to the stem and black gems were added to the centers of the flowers.

The black strip is part of the wildflower set, but it was smaller than I wanted, so I just cut two of them and trimmed off one end of both. The sentiment was created using the Ideal Moments Sentiments BetterPress Plate along with black BetterPress ink.

The panel was adhered to the card base, the floral was glued in place along with the black strip and the sentiment was adhered with foam strips to finish up.

Spellbinders Birthday Cosmos

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the new Cosmos, as well as the Journal Grid in a clean and simple design. These products are from the May releases, and you should definitely check them out! Let’s go right into the details!

I began this project by cutting the Cosmos from Neenah 110lb cardstock and the pieces from pink and yellow cardstocks. I did some light ink blending on the petals using Peony ink, drew some veins with a pink colored pencil and assembled the flower with liquid glue. I wanted this flower on a stem so I used the Layered Wildflowers set and cut that from Green Apple cardstock with some ink blending with Pearfection ink.

The Journal Grid BetterPress Plate was inked using Misty Coast ink, trimmed down and gold splattered for some additional interest. I chose the light grey ink because I wanted a subtle background for this card.

I gold foiled the You Are Everything Plate onto Neenah 110lb and trimmed it out with the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts because I love that stacked sentiment look. The background was adhered to the card base and the leaves and flower were glued in place while the sentiment were adhered using foam strips.

Spellbinders Thinking of You Anemone

Hello Friends, and thanks for stopping by! The May Spellbinders releases are live, and I’m back today with a project featuring the Anemone, along with the Script Text BetterPress Plate and the Summer Solstice Garden Sentiments. Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I began this project by die cutting the Anemone from Neenah 110lb cardstock, along with black and yellow for the pieces. I did some light ink blending on the petals using Peony ink. I knew that I was going to want some leaves, so I cut those using the Vivid Blooms set from Green Apple cardstock and did some ink blending on those with Pearfection ink.

I gold foiled the Script Text plate onto Neenah 110lb cardstock, and gold foiled the sentiment onto black cardstock. I trimmed out the sentiment with the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment. I trimmed the script background and gold splattered it before adhering it to a black panel.

The leaves were secured in place using liquid glue, while the flowers and the sentiment were adhered using foam strips. To finish up, everything was adhered to the card base, and I added some gold metallic pearls to one leaf.
