Simon Says Stamp Nifty Happy to Know You

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Nifty Star Plate from the Rain or Shine release. Let’s go ahead and run through the details, shall we?

I began this project by die cutting the Nifty Star Plate once from Neenah 110lb cardstock and once from black cardstock. I then poked out all of the pieces from both panels and put the black panel onto a Craft Tacky Mat and put the white pieces into place. Once those were in place, I did some light ink blending using Bubblegum, Sunbeam and Seafoam inks.

To get proper placement onto my card base, I put some removable tape on the back of the black panel and began the inlay process adding the black pieces first and securing with liquid glue and then adding the ink blended pieces atop that. Once all of the pieces were in place, I carefully removed the black panel that I was using as my guide.

The sentiment, which is from the Extra Talkative set, was stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set using Detail White Embossing Powder. That was then trimmed out using the coordinating die along with two additional cuts. Those were adhered together and added to the card using foam strips. To finish up, I added black crystals to the centers of each piece.

Simon Says Stamp Rain or Shine Blog Hop – Day 1

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! Today I’m super excited to be participating in the SSS Blog Hop to celebrate their latest release, Rain or Shine! And, stay tuned for the Blog Hop Day 2 tomorrow for more inspiration and chances to win! My project for today is featuring the new Snowbell Bouquet in a shadow frame. I really enjoy creating shadow frames as a little decorative element for your home or your craft room or anywhere, really. Let’s go ahead and run through the details.

I began this project by die cutting the Snowbells LOTS of times from Neenah 110lb cardstock and Green Apple cardstock. Once everything was cut, I did some light ink blending on the flowers using Gravel ink and on the stems and leaves using Fairway and Field ink.

I assembled the flowers and adhered them to the stems and cut a background panel that would fit inside the frame from dark green cardstock. I wanted a little more interest, so I splattered it with yellow spray. I chose that one because I knew that it would show up on dark cardstock.

The sentiment was created using the Just Breathe set. I stamped it onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set it using Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out with the coordinating die four times to achieve that stacked look.

When the panel dried, I arranged the flowers and sentiment in a way that I was satisfied with and then began adhering them with liquid glue. The sentiment was added with foam tape for added dimension. Once the flowers and sentiment were in their places, I went back and added the leaves here and there to fill in.

Simon Says Stamp Floral Harlequin Thank You

Hello Friends, and thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Pepita Background from Simon’s latest release, Rain or Shine. This project is also featuring the new Thank You Basics set, which is a staple to have in your stash! Let’s go ahead and go through the details for this one.

I began this project by stamping the Pepita Background onto a black panel using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I repeated that process for a second time to get a smoother embossed finish. I think the black on black with the glossy pattern is just amazing! I wanted this panel to be just smaller than my card base, so I made some marks and began cutting around the design. I absolutely love the edging of the panel!

I went ahead and splattered my card base with black ink and set that aside to dry while I worked on the other elements. I die cut the Autumn Sunflower twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock, which gave me four pieces. I also die cut the Privet Branch twice from Neenah, and cut the Winsome branch a couple of times from black cardstock.

I did some ink blending on the flower using Bubblegum and Carnation inks. I was a bit more heavy handed on the bottom layer and lighter on the top layers. The leaves were ink blended using Celery, Pearfection and Seafoam inks. I love adding Seafoam to green ink blending as I think it adds a nice little pop of color. I assembled the flower and decided to go back and cut the center from black cardstock to bring some cohesiveness.

I stamped the sentiment, which is from the new Thank You Basics set, using VersaMark ink and heat set that using Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it down so that it would fit nicely in the center of my flower. The background panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape, and I began adhering the green leaves first with liquid glue. Next, I adhered the black leaves, the flower and the sentiment. To finish up, I added a few clear drops.

This card has so much dimension, and I love it! I think it would have been pretty with an aqua colored flower as well, or any color of flower! I hope you enjoyed this project, as I sure did! Spellbinders Floral Frame Grid

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ve had the My Life in Pictures set from the Spellbinders March releases on my desk, and finally found time to play with it and I’m so happy with what I came up with! Let’s go ahead and run through the details.

I began this project by die cutting the frame portion of the set a few times from Neenah 110lb cardstock and black cardstock. I poked out the little edge pieces from the white and left them in place on the black, and adhered the frames together with liquid glue. I also die cut the smile sentiment in the set once from gold, twice from Neenah and once from black cardstock and adhered all of those together, offsetting the black layer ever so slightly.

I wanted to create a grid type pattern, so I pulled out several floral sets that had some smaller die cuts in them. I also pulled a few colors of Spellbinders cardstock as well. I’ll list all of those supplies at the bottom of this post for your convenience. Once everything was cut, I did some light ink blending on the pieces using Guava, Gravel and Field inks. Once that was complete, I assembled the flowers and set those aside while I assembled the rest of the card.

For assembly, I cut a panel of Neenah slightly smaller than my card base and began adhering the frame pieces on a diagonal, trimming off the excess when complete. I then adhered the leaves in place and then secured the flowers with a mix of foam squares and liquid glue. The panel was adhered to the card base, the sentiment was glued directly in place and gold metallic pearls were added to finish up.

A relatively simple card design, but a little time consuming with all of the die cutting. I happen to love die cutting so I didn’t mind it all, and I really love how this card turned out! I appreciate you stopping by, and I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day!

Spellbinders Floral Scribbled Letter

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! The Spellbinders March releases are available, and I’m back today with a project featuring the new Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder, along with the Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates. Can I just say right away that I absolutely love this embossing folder?! I love something that gives just a hint of texture but adds to the project! Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

I began this project by pulling cardstock colors that I wanted to use, which were Blush, Dahlia, Waterfall, Teal Topaz, Peridot, Fern, Beeswax and Saffron. I did use some Neenah for the white flowers as well. Once the papers were pulled, I went to work die cutting the flowers and leaves from the Colorful Expressions Blooms.

Those pieces were then ink blended using Carnation, Field, Honey, Surf and Gravel inks before being assembled. I created the background using the Scribbled Letter folder and then lightly rubbed a gold ink pad across the raised side of the panel. The sentiment, which is from the new Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates, was gold foiled and trimmed down.

I adhered the background panel to my card base first and then secured all of the other pieces with liquid glue, beginning with the underneath pieces. I added gold metallic pearls to the one branch and the three white flowers before adding the sentiment with foam strips.

That does it for this project! You all know that I love florals, so I really enjoyed this project, and I’m sure that I’m going to get lots of use from this embossing folder! Carry On With Courage

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring florals with some absolutely gorgeous paper from Your Paper Insider! I love grays and black, but this pink cardstock is beyond gorgeous! The color doesn’t come through in the pictures, but it’s the softest, palest pink that I’ve ever come across, and I thought it paired so well with the dark colors on this card. If you haven’t checked out Your Paper Insider, I highly recommend that you do so! It’s a fun subscription box that features papers from all over the world to include many cardstock colors and specialty papers. Let’s go ahead and get into the details for this project.

I began this project by die cutting some florals and leaves from the Spellbinders Vivid Blooms set using all of these colors from my subscription box. Once the florals were assembled, I went ahead and used the PinkFresh Studio Sparkling Diamonds plate on a panel of darker gray cardstock.

Before moving on, I did splatter that panel with some black acrylic ink for some added interest. The sentiment was created using the PinkFresh Studio Wonderful Sentiments and Opal foil. The was die cut several times to create a stacked sentiment.

I began assembling the card by adhering the gray leaves first using liquid glue and then adhering the pink leaves atop those. I then adhered the outside flowers, again with liquid glue, and then adhered the center flower with foam tape. The sentiment was adhered with foam strips, and I tucked in some additional leaves to fill in. Clear drops were added to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Hip Hip Hooray

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! The latest release from Simon Says Stamp, Favorite Things, is live and I’m back today with a project featuring the new Hip Hip Hooray set. Let’s go ahead and jump into the details, shall we?

I began this project by stamping some of the hippos using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting that with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then used Copic Markers C00, C1, C2, C3 and RV10 to add color to the hippos. I then fussy cut the images and went to work on the rest of the card.

The Postage Collage Cover was cut twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and adhered together for a little bit of a stacked look. That was then adhered to my card base using liquid glue, and I went ahead and die cut the flowers and leaves from the Hanging Leaf Ring set from Sage and Neenah cardstock. I did do some light ink blending on these pieces using Carnation and Sage inks as well.

Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers and added Bubblegum Dazzling Gems to the centers. The sentiment, which is from the Hip Hip Hooray set, was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat set using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. This was then cut into a strip with foam strips added to the back of it. The hippos were adhered using foam tape while the flowers and leaves were adhered with a combination of glue and foam squares. The sentiment was secured in place to finish up.

I don’t normally do cutesy cards, because I don’t feel that I’m very good at those types of cards, but this card makes me smile, so I’m counting that as a win! Simon Says Stamp All My Love

Today’s project is featuring the new Parisian Frame and Pretty Bows, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I began this project by stamping the Parisian Frame pieces using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I then did some light ink blending over the top using Bubblegum ink. I trimmed the frame down and adhered it to white foam and then trimmed the foam down. I also darkened up the stamped flowers with Copic Marker R85. At this point, I wasn’t sure where the card was going, so I went ahead and die cut some flowers and leaves using the Elegant Blossom Branch, Cosmos Duo and the Budding Branches.

While I was cutting, I went ahead and cut the centers of the flowers from black cardstock as well. I did some light ink blending on the pieces using Bubblegum, Carnation, Celery and Seafoam inks. I splattered the card base with black acrylic ink and cut a panel using the Scalloped Rectangles. The panel was adhered to the card base first and then the Parisian Frame was adhered atop that.

The leaves were adhered first, followed by the flowers. Bubblegum Dazzling Gems were then added, and I decided that one of the Pretty Bows would add a nice touch, so I cut that once from Neenah and once from gold and adhered those together. The bow was then added just underneath one of the flowers to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Bundled Birthday Swag

Hello Friends and thanks for joining me! Today’s project is featuring the new Bundled Swag Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release, Favorite Things. This is a super simple project, so let’s run through the deets!

I began this project by running a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock through the machine with the folder, and then doing some ink blending using Seafoam, Surf and Ocean inks.

The Birthday Wishes sentiment was cut once from Matte Silver Cardstock and twice from Neenah, the shadow portion was cut twice and all of those pieces were adhered together for that stacked sentiment look.

The embossed panel was added to the card base using foam tape, and the sentiment was glued directly to the panel. I added Surf Dazzling Gems to finish up.

PinkFresh Studio Leafy Garden Party with Your Paper Insider

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back to my blog! A little while back, I received a special box from Your Paper Insider and decided to create some gorgeous flowers with some of the paper, and today’s project is that result! If you haven’t checked them out, I highly recommend that you do! It’s a super, fun subscription box filled with at least 20 different papers from around the world, to include gorgeous cardstock colors, specialty papers and art papers. Ok, let’s go ahead and go through the details for this project.

I began this project by die cutting flowers using the Garden Party set and papers from Your Paper Insider. I did do some ink blending on the flowers, to add more depth, using Sweet Mustard and Atlantis inks. You guys know that I always have to use more leaves so I used the Leafy Branch and foiled the Joyful Day leaves.

Continuing to work on the focal point of the card, I used the Charming Stitched Florals and then used the Folk Edge Circles to cut a small panel. The sentiment, which is from the Wonderful Sentiments BetterPress set, was gold foiled and trimmed out using the coordinating die cut.

Before assembling the pieces, I gold splattered my card base for added interest and began by adhering the foiled leaves using liquid glue. The circular panel was then adhered using foam tape and the smaller white leaves were adhered next. The flowers and sentiment were added lastly to finish up.
