Spellbinders Wonderful Vivid Blooms

Hello Friends and thanks for stopping by! Today’s project is featuring the new Vivid Blooms set from Spellbinders January releases. I had used these florals on a previous project and had some left over, so of course I had to use them! Let’s run through the details.

I began this project by die cutting the florals and leaves from Waterfall, Teal Topaz, Saffron, Cotton Candy and Green Apple cardstocks. I did some ink blending on those pieces using Carnation, Honey, Artichoke, Ocean and Surf inks. Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers and set them aside while I worked on the remainder of the card.

I used the Fluted Classics Rectangles to create a frame and then embossed the center portion using the Leafy Embossing Folder. For some added interest, I did splatter both of those with gold acrylic ink. The sentiment, which is from the You Are Everything Sentiments set, was gold foiled onto black cardstock and die cut three times for a stacked sentiment look.

For the assembly, I glued the frame and embossed panel to the card base and then adhered the leaves in place and then the florals. Two of the flowers were adhered with foam tape for some added dimension. The sentiment was added with foam strips, and to finish up, I added some Gold Metallic Pearls to one of the leaf stems.

Simon Says Stamp Sending You Love

Hello and welcome back! I’m so thrilled that you stopped by to hang out with me for a few minutes! Today’s project is featuring the new Pixie Dust Stamp set from Simon’s latest release To Be Loved. Let’s go ahead and get right into it!

I began this project by stamping the floral image from this set twice onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting that with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then colored one of the images using Copic Markers in BG96, BG10, BG53, BG72, G94, YG63, Y08, Y18 and Y38.

When I stamped the floral image twice, I was not sure at this point what I was doing with the card. It was a, “I’m going to start and see what happens” kind of project! Once I finished coloring the one image, I cut it out, and decided that I would use the other stamped image as a background of sorts. I used the Postage Stamp Edge Frames to determine placement and went ahead and trimmed it down.

I then added some “black splatter” using a Copic Multiliner, because I wanted to control where the splatter landed. I adhered the colored portions of the flowers atop the panel using foam squares and then ran it back through the die cutting machine with the postage edge again so that both layers had the pattern.

This is a left over gold foiled sentiment that I had in my stash, which is from the Reverse Bad Day Good Vibes Sentiment Strip set, that I added with foam strips. The panel was added to the card base and along with some gold metallic pearls to finish up.

Another project in the books! I hope you enjoyed it! I used to enjoy using my Copic Markers a great deal, but have kind of gotten out of the habit, so it was nice to pick them up again for a relatively quick project. Spellbinders Sweeping Floral Hello

Hello Friends, and thanks so much for stopping by! I recently did a white on white card, and that prompted the idea for creating a black on black card. This project is using the Sweeping Script Sentiments BetterPress Plates and the Vivid Blooms from Spellbinders’ latest January releases. Let’s go ahead and go through the details!

I began this project be gold foiling the hello, which is from the Sweeping Script Sentiments set, and then using the Fluted Classics Rectanlges to trim it out. I then splattered the panel with gold acrylic ink and set that aside to dry while I worked on the flowers.

I die cut several flowers and leaves from the Vivid Blooms set from black cardstock and cut the centers of the flowers from gold cardstock. I went ahead and assembled the flowers using liquid glue and got started on the card layout.

The leaves were glued in place first and the larger flowers were adhered with foam tape for a little bid of added dimension. The smaller flowers were tucked in and around to fill in and secured with glue as well. I did add some gold metallic pearls to one of the leaves to bring it all together before adhering the panel to the card base to finish up.

Spellbinders Birthday Wishes

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! The January releases from Spellbinders are live, and I’m back today with a project featuring the new Ganache Gateau, Birthday Cheers and the Vivid Blooms! Don’t you love it when the vision in your mind translates well to an actual project?! Let’s go through the details for this one, shall we?

I began this project by cutting the base layer of the cake using Cotton Candy cardstock, while cutting the frosting pieces from Neenah 110lb cardstock. There was quite a bit of floral cutting for this project and the cardstock colors that I used were Gold, Waterfall, Saffron, Peacock and Green Apple. Those will all be listed in the thumbnails below.

Once all of the floral die cutting was complete, I did some ink blending on the flowers using Bubblegum, Surf and Cabbage inks. The floral pieces were then assembled using liquid glue. Before adding anything to the cake, I did splatter it with gold acrylic ink for some added interest. I began the assembly with the leaves and flowers at the bottom of the cake, and then added the bottom icing piece.

I wanted to figure out the sentiment before adding the top pieces to the cake, so I die cut the support sticks five times from Neenah 110lb cardstock, and I die cut the ‘birthday wishes’ once from gold cardstock and four times from Neenah. All of those pieces were adhered together so that it would be sturdy.

I adhered the top icing pieces, the support sticks and then the flowers around those. Adding the flowers over the support sticks hid the bottom portion of those, which I wanted. My next step was to secure the sentiment in place. I wanted the card to be the shape of the cake, so I cut another piece of pink cardstock and scored it at 1/4″ and applied some Scor Tape to secure those together.

Simon Says Stamp To Love And To Be Loved Release Blog Hop – Day 1

Hello Crafty Friends and thanks for joining me! Welcome to Day 1 of the Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop featuring the To Love and To Be Loved releases! Let’s go ahead and go through the details!

I began this project by cutting a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock down to the same size as the gold thin frame and splattering it with gold acrylic paint. I set that aside to dry while I worked on the other elements of the card.

The I’m Sorry sentiment was cut once, and I die cut a few white flowers using the Cosmos Duo set, and cut the centers of the flowers from yellow cardstock. The flowers needed a little bit of shading so I added that with some Gravel ink. The centers also got some shading using Sunbeam ink. The flowers are two layers because I wanted more fullness, so I went ahead and assembled all of the pieces using liquid glue.

Now here is where things get a little wonky! I needed a longer stem for the flowers so I die cut the stem from the Divine Peony set, and I die cut a few leaves from the Winsome Branches set to go along with the stem from the Cosmos set. Light ink blending using Cabbage ink was applied to the stems and leaves.

To assemble the card, I glued the gold frame to the splattered panel, added the I’m Sorry and then added the one long stem. The first two flowers were then adhered using foam strips, I added the second stem, along with the third flower and then added the leaves atop the stems. The panel was then adhered to the card base to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Thanks Exotic Blooms

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Simon has a new To Love release, and I’m back today with a project featuring the Exotic Blooms. We all know that I love the florals, so let’s go ahead and get into the details for this one!

I began this project by die cutting the Exotic Blooms several times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I also cut a few flowers from the Hanging Leaf Ring set as well, and did some light ink blending on all of those flowers using Melon, Cantaloupe, Sherbet and Honey. The leaf portions were ink blended using Sage and Pine. Once I was set on all of the ink blending, I assembled the flowers, and added Opal Dazzling Gems to some of the flowers.

My background was created using the Double Plaid Cover and the Stitched Squares. The cover die was glued to the card base, while the gold square was adhered using foam tape. I began arranging my flowers and leaves and gluing those down as I went. I decided that some gold leaves would be nice to pull the floral arrangement together with the gold square.

The sentiment, which is from the Friendship Leafy Cluster set, was stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set using Detail White Embossing Powder. The coordinating die was used to trim that out along with two additional cuts for a stacked look. The sentiment was glued directly to the panel to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Birthday Leafy Branch

Hello Friends, and welcome back! I’m back today with a project featuring the Leafy Branch for Simon’s latest DieCember release. Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I knew that I wanted a monochromatic look to this project, so I began by die cutting the flowers from Neenah 110lb cardstock, while cutting the centers from black cardstock. I’ll list the flowers used in the thumbnails at the end of this post. Once the flowers were cut, I did some light ink blending using Gravel ink.

I went ahead and assembled the flowers, and adhered Gunmetal Dazzling Gems to the centers of the smaller flowers. I die cut the Leafy Branch from black cardstock to provide that contrast that I needed. For added interest, I die cut the Double Plaid Cover from Gravel cardstock and adhered that to a darker grey cardstock using liquid glue.

Before adhering the leaves to the panel, I splattered them with white acrylic ink. I then adhered the florals in place with black foam squares. I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Birthday Basics set, using VersaMark ink and heat set that using Detail White Embossing Powder. The coordinating die was used to trim it out, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment. That was then added to the card using foam strips, along with a few more embellishments to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Floral Whirl Leaf

Hello and welcome back, Friends! I’m back today with another project featuring the awesome Whirl Fancy Leaf from Simon’s latest DieCember release! I had a lot of fun with this leaf, and really love today’s project, so let’s go ahead and run through the details, shall we?

I began this project by die cutting the leaf twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and did some light ink blending on them using Lilac, Orchid, Seafoam and Surf inks. I had a few leftover flowers from the Hanging Leaf Ring set that I decided to add to this project as well.

Those flowers have some light Gravel ink blending on them, along with some Gunmetal Dazzling Gems. I love the Just Breathe set, so I stamped one of the sentiment onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. That was trimmed out using the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for added strength and dimension.

I used the Postage Stamp Edge Frames to trim a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and splattered that with some black ink before proceeding. This panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape, the leaves were glued into place and the flowers were secured with foam tape. The sentiment was secured with foam strips to finish this project up!

Happy Happy Friday! I recently got the Artful Palette set from @simonsaysstamp and had to get busy creating a few cards using various patterned papers from my hoarding stash! Simon Says Stamp DieCember 2024 Blog Party

My project today is featuring the new Hanging Leaf Ring, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

In October I made a shadow box frame and since then, I’ve been itching to make another! The cute flowers and leaves from the Hanging Leaf Ring set seemed to be begging for their place in a frame, so that’s what I set out to do! I die cut around thirty five of the various sizes of flowers for this project and did some light ink blending on most, while a small few had some darker ink blending. The colors that I used were Bubblegum, Carnation, Seafoam, Ocean, Cantaloupe and Sherbet.

Once all of the ink blending was complete, I assembled the pieces of the largest flowers and added an Opal Dazzling Gem to the center of each flower. It’s a lot of flowers, but it actually went fairly quickly! I die cut a few of the leaves from this set using Smoke cardstock, along with a few leaves using the Budding Branches die.

While I was die cutting, I went ahead and cut the sentiment twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and cut the shadow twice from black cardstock. All of the pieces were adhered together using liquid glue, and I went ahead and put foam strips on the back.

Now that all of the components were ready, I cut a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and splattered it with some black acrylic ink before beginning the assembly process. I began by figuring out the center and glued the leaves in place before adhering the sentiment. I then adhered the eight larger flowers and then adhered the remaining smaller flowers around everything.

To finish up, I added more Opal gems to the berry portion of the Budding Branches and put the panel back into the frame. That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I really love how this turned out and am wanting to make one for myself.

Simon Says Stamp Leafy Hello

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Abundant Leaf Background from Simon’s latest release, Festive Fun. Let’s get right into the details, shall we?

I began this project by die cutting the Abundant Leaf Background from a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock. While the die cut was still in the panel, I did some light ink blending using Pine and Sage inks for some added depth. I knew that I wanted a floral card, so I pulled some flowers and went to work on those.

The flowers that I used for this card were the Layered Dandy Flower, Etched Crocus Stems and the Simple Flowers. I cut those from aqua and pink cardstock and did some ink blending on those as well using Bubblegum, Carnation and Mist inks. I should mention that I cut the centers of the flowers from yellow cardstock. Once my ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers that needed it using liquid glue.

My background was created using a forest green cardstock with gold splatter, and I glued my leaf background to that. Most of the flowers were adhered using foam strips, while a few were glued directly atop the leaves. The hello sentiment was cut once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock, while the shadow portion was cut once from vellum. All of those pieces were adhered together and then glued directly to the panel. The panel was added to a Cotton Candy Pre-Scored card base, which is also from the Festive Fun release, and some Surf Dazzling Gems were added to finish up.
