Striped Hey There Featuring Your Paper Insider

Hello Friends and thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a project featuring some awesome papers from Box 11 of Your Paper Insider. Among all of the papers in Box 11, I chose this medium grey, a matte silver and a white shimmer cardstock. There’s also a really interesting black, which is from Box 10, that feels almost like suede. I love it so much, but I think box 10 might already be sold out, unfortunately.

I began this project by cutting 1/4 inch strips of the chosen cardstock colors, and gluing them in place atop an already black splattered panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock. I die cut several small flowers using the “suede” type cardstock and the Spellbinders Floral Spray set. I adhered those along the bottom stripe of color and added a matte silver pearl to the centers of the flowers. The sentiment, which is from the Everyday Words on a Line set, was cut from regular black cardstock and glued directly to the panel. Unfortunately, this sentiment set has been discontinued, but any small sentiment would work fine.

Everything was then secured to a black panel before being adhered to the card base, and that finishes up this project! I hope you enjoyed it! Simon Says Stamp Bird Branches

Hello Friends! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Bold Bird Branches Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release Moments In Time. Let’s go ahead and get into the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by embossing the folder onto a panel of Fern cardstock and rubbing Kale ink over the raised portions of the panel. That left the leaves, flowers and birds the original color. I then took a scrap of Neenah 110lb cardstock and used the included die cut to cut the birds, and then run them through with the folder to get the texture.

The birds were ink blended using Seafoam, Surf and Heather inks. I decided that the flowers on the panel needed some color, so I colored those using Salvaged Patina Distress Paint and a paintbrush. I adhered a black jewel for the eyes on the birds and secured them to the panel using foam strips.

The sentiment is from the new I See You EZ Strips set that I gold foiled and trimmed down. This was adhered with foam strips as well and I added some gold gems to the centers of the flowers to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp You Are Amazing Vintage Bloom

Hey There, Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by! Today’s project is featuring the new Vintage Blooms from Simon’s latest release, Moments In Time. This is a super simple project, but I always love dark and dramatic cards, so let’s go ahead and go through the details for this one!

This Vintage Blooms stamp set has two larger floral images, and I decided to just use one of them on the corner of a black panel. I stamped the floral using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat set it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then took a deckle edged ruler and ripped off the remaining portion of the panel.

I wanted that rough edge to have some detail, so I rubbed the VersaMark Ink pad along the edge and heat set it using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. Before adhering the stamped panel to another black panel with foam tape, I gold splattered that for some additional interest.

The sentiment is from a discontinued Simon set, but in looking on their website, Papertrey Ink has some similar items that would work great too. I die cut the sentiment once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock for a stacked sentiment and then glued that along the torn edge.

That does it for this project! A dark, clean and simple design! This design would be great for any occasion, but I also can see it as a wedding card as well. Don’t forget to check out the entire Moments In Time release over on Simon’s website. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Happy Vintage Blooms

Hello and welcome back, Friends! Today’s project is featuring the new Vintage Blooms from Simon’s latest release, Moments In Time. This set has two larger blooms, but I opted to use just one for this project. Let’s run through the details!

I began by gathering a panel of watercolor paper and the inks that I wanted to use. This background was created by smooshing the ink onto my glass mat and adding a touch of water and painting it onto the panel. I wanted a nice wash of color that blended from a peachy color to a pink color. The inks that I used were Distress Oxide Saltwater Taffy and Kitsch Flamingo. I worked one color at a time, drying between the layers.

Once I was satisfied with the wash of color, I went ahead and stamped the florals onto the panel using VersaFine Clair Morning Mist. I really like this ink, because it’s dark, but not too dark like the Onyx Black. I heat set the images using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and took the panel back to my work area. I wanted to darken the flowers and leaves so that they stood out a little more so I pulled out Distress Oxide Sprays in Broken China, Picked Raspberry, and Saltwater Taffy. I just put a few drops on my glass mat, and painted using a water brush this time. I also wanted some splatter so used the same sprays for that.

I dried the panel and trimmed it out using the Postage Stamp Edge Frames and adhered it to the card base using foam tape. The sentiment, which is from the Just Breathe set, was stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set using Detail White Embossing Powder. That was then trimmed out using the coordinating die, along with two more cuts. That was adhered with foam strips, and some clear drops were added to finish up.

Pinkfresh Regal Florals

Hey There! So glad that you stopped by! For today’s project, I’m revisiting my desire for dark, dramatic Pinkfresh florals! I really like how this one turned out, so let’s go ahead and go through the details!

I began by die cutting the Fresh Florals from Purple Mist and Green Apple cardstock. I did some ink blending on the florals using Regal Kiss and some on the purple leaves using Soft Lilac. For the green leaves, I used C9 Avocado ink. I went back and cut a few centers from gold cardstock and went ahead and assembled the flowers using foam strips between the purple and green layers. I also glued the leaves together, offsetting those slightly.

The Leafy Lattice was gold foiled onto Plum cardstock and trimmed out using the coordinating die cut. The sentiment was gold foiled as well on the same plum cardstock and trimmed out three times for a stacked sentiment.

The background was created using the PFS Sparkling Diamonds plate, which I think was discontinued. That’s a shame, because I really do love this die cut. I adhered the lattice to the panel using liquid glue, and then began gluing the leaves in place. The sentiment was adhered using foam strips, and the flowers were the last thing to be adhered.

That does it for this project! While I do love the pastel vibe of Pinkfresh, I also love a dramatic Pinkfresh project as well! Simon Says Stamp So Kind Floral

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks for joining me for today’s project featuring the new With Thanks stamp set along with the new Petal-Tipped Labels. There’s a fun Instagram Hop happening today, so you definitely should check that out and leave comments! Simon is giving away a $25 gift certificate from each stop along the hop! There’s a lot going on with this project, so let’s get into it!

I began this project by cutting my flowers using the Charming Daisy and the Etched Crocus Stems. I also cut my leaves using Green Apple cardstock and the Budding Branches die. Once those were cut, I did some ink blending using Melon, Cantaloupe, Bubblegum and Pearfection inks. I did go back and cut the centers from black cardstock as well. I assembled the florals and set them aside while I worked on the other elements of the card.

I used two of the dies from the Petal-Tipped Labels and cut one from gold cardstock and one from Neenah 110lb cardstock. The one that was cut from Neenah was run through the die cutting machine using the Tiny Tufts Embossing Folder to add just a touch of muted interest for the background. I adhered those together and began adhering the flowers and leaves.

The sentiment, which is from the new With Thanks set, was stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. The larger sentiment was stamped and embossed twice for a smoother finish. I then fussy cut the sentiments out with my scissors. I’m not the best fussy cutter, so let’s not look at those details too carefully! There are coordinating die cuts for this set, but I did not have those. Both sentiments were adhered using foam strips for a bit of dimension.

My larger background panel was cut using the Postage Stamp Edge Frames and gold splattered. This was then adhered to the card base using foam tape, and the floral panel was glued in place. To finish up, I added some gold metallic pearls to the berry portion of the Budding Branches.

Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Stacked Blooms

Hey there, Friends! Thanks for joining me! Today’s project is featuring the new Stacked Blooms Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release, Rain or Shine. This was a super quick card, so let’s get to the details.

I began this project by embossing a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock with the embossing folder and did some random ink blending on the debossed side of the panel using Carnation, Sunbeam, Surf and Cadette inks.

Once the ink blending was complete, I used my black Rainbow Splash ink pad and rubbed that on the raised portions of the panel to give this black-out feel. The You Mean The World to Me sentiment was cut once from holographic cardstock and twice from black cardstock. The shadow portion was also cut twice, and all of those pieces were adhered together using liquid glue.

The panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape, while the sentiment was glued in place. I didn’t feel that this card needed any additional bling, which is weird for me!

Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Mod Plants

Hello Friends and welcome back! Thanks for joining me for today’s project featuring the new Mod Plants from Simon’s latest release, Rain or Shine. You’ve had a few day to peruse the release, what are your favorites? Let me know in the comments! Let’s go ahead and run through the details for this one!

I began this project by pulling my Bubblegum, Sunbeam and Seafoam inks. I picked out one plant from this set to do a repeat rainbow pattern. Once the stamp was place in the Misti, I inked the top portion of the stamp with the Bubblegum ink and used a blending brush to soften the edge of the ink. I did end up stamping several times to get good coverage. I then inked the middle portion of the stamp with the Sunbeam ink, softening the edges as before. I then inked the bottom portion of the stamp with the Seafoam ink, softening the edges of the ink again.

Once I was finished with one leaf, I moved it to the next area on my panel and repeated those stamping steps each time. When finished, I used the Postage Stamp Edge Frames to trim the panel down. This was then adhered to the card base using foam tape. The Sending Love & Hugs sentiment was cut once from gold cardstock and twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock, and the shadow portion was also cut twice. All of those pieces were adhered together using liquid glue and then added to the card with foam strips to finish up.

Happy Happy Friday! I recently got the Artful Palette set from @simonsaysstamp and had to get busy creating a few cards using various patterned papers from my hoarding stash! I can’t be the only one that hoards patterned papers, right?!? These cards were quite fun to make, and I’m considering making a few more! I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend! I have so many stamp sets that I haven’t used, and I’ve been trying to make my way through some of them! Today’s project is featuring one of those sets, it’s the Oh, Shiitake set from @simonsaysstamp. An oldie but goodie for sure! I love the addition of the stencil for this product suite, because sometimes I just don’t feel like coloring! Happy Monday, Friends! Today’s post is featuring the Tiny Flora Embossing Folder from @simonsaysstamp Beautiful Moments release. I embossed the panel onto glossy cardstock and used to brayer to add the pink. In the process of brayering, the bottom portion of my panel had ink splotches that I didn’t like, so I just ripped it off and wet with what I had. Pinkfresh Dark Floral Beauty

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring some relatively new Pinkfresh goodies. I have a problem .. I purchase Pinkfresh products, and then I never use them, so I’m trying to do something about that! With that being said, I love the pastel, floral vibe of Pinkfresh, but I wanted to try my hand at a dark Pinkfresh card. Let me know what you think in the comments. Let’s go ahead and run through the details for this project!

Ok, so I knew I wanted dark colors, but I didn’t want to go my usual route of black and grays, so I opted for blues and gold. I began by gold foiling the Interlaced Diamond Press Plate onto Indigo cardstock and used the coordinating die to trim it out. I also cut one from black and adhered those together using liquid glue. My next step was to cut the Fresh Florals from Partly Cloudy cardstock. This is an older Spellbinders cardstock, and I think the comparable new ColorWheel color would be Malibu.

Once all of the florals and leaves were cut, I did some ink blending on the flowers using Stargazer ink. I went pretty heavy handed as I wanted the flowers to match the indigo. After I was done ink blending, I decided that it might be pretty to add a layer of gold to everything, so I cut the Fresh Florals again from gold cardstock. I adhered the blue flowers to the gold flowers using foam squares, because I wanted to be able to see the underlying layer. I then assembled the rest of the flowers with liquid glue.

I gold foiled the sentiment, which is from the Favorite Things set, onto the same indigo cardstock and used the coordinating die to trim it out twice. Before beginning the assembly of the card, I cut a panel of the indigo and gold splattered that to add a bit of background interest.

The Interlaced Diamonds was adhered first and then I began adhering the leaves. I glued the gold leaves in place and then glued the blue leaves atop those but slightly off center. I then glued the flowers in place and adhered the sentiment in the center using foam strips. To finish up, I added gold metallic pearls to the centers of the flowers.

Pinkfresh Blooming Leafy Lattice

Hello Friends, and welcome back! I recently received my Pinkfresh order with goodies from the March release, and I found some time to play! This project is featuring the new Blooming Grace Washi Tape and the Leafy Lattice Press Plate. Let’s not waste time and go ahead and run through the details!

I began this project by smoothing out a panel of the washi tape onto Neenah 110lb cardstock, and using the coordinating die to trim those pieces out. I then went ahead and gold foiled the Leafy Lattice and trimmed that out with coordinating die as well. I wanted a background for all of my elements, so I used the Sparkling Diamonds die cut. I haven’t been able to locate this die cut on the Pinkfresh website, so I’m not sure if it has been discontinued. But, I thought it worked really well with the way I wanted to orient the lattice.

My next step was to play around with the placement of everything, and before adhering anything, I did some light ink blending on the background panel using Peony ink. I placed foam strips on the back of the lattice and adhered that to my panel first. I decided that I needed some additional green leaves, so I used the Fresh Florals die and ink blended those leaves using Fresh Pear and Olive inks.

The sentiment was already in my stash, and that is from the Here For You Sentiments Press Plate, which I had gold foiled as well. I went ahead and adhered the sentiment in the center using the same foam strips, glued the green leaves in place, and then adhered the washi tape pieces, again with foam strips. To finish up, I added some Gold Metallic Pearls.
