Simon Says Stamp Snowy Plaque Slide

Hello Friends, and welcome back! It’s been a little bit! I was super busy creating for the STAMPtember collab sets, and took a smidge of a break. I’m back today with a card featuring the new Plaque Slides from Simon’s latest release, Sugar & Spice. Let’s get to the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I went into this project knowing that I wanted to make a shaker card, so I used the A2 Scalloped Rectangles to cut the frame. I then used snowflakes from the Snowflake Season set to stamp onto acetate using white ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. For the background, I remembered that I had some Color Blend Cardstock hanging around, so I also cut that using the A2 Scalloped Rectangles.

The slide was created using silver cardstock and the new Plaque Slides die cut along with the new Plaque Slides Christmas stamp set. I used the same white ink and embossing powder for the sentiment. I wanted the slide to be a bit more sturdy, so I cut it an additional four times from Neenah and glued all of those together.

The Lilac ink paired perfectly with the Color Blend cardstock, so I splattered my card base with that and set that aside to dry while I worked on the shaker. I glued the acetate to the frame and used foam tape to build the walls of the shaker. I sprinkled in some Diamond Dust and adhered the purple panel in place. My ribbon was woven in place and secured using liquid glue before everything was adhered to the card bae to finish up.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it! Based on the name of this new Christmas stamp set, I have to believe there will be other sets coming in the future! Don’t forget to head on over to check out the entire Sugar & Spice release! Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Snowflakes

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Falling Snowflakes Acetate Foil Transfer Sheets from Simon’s latest release, Festive Fun. Let’s go ahead and go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by silver foiling the acetate sheet to create a shaker card. To build the shaker, I used the PFS Stitched Scallop Rectangle to create a frame and applied glue around the edges and adhered the acetate sheet. I then added foam strips around the edges to create the well for my glitter shaker bits. A plain white panel was then adhered to that to contain everything. I did have some edges hanging out, because I don’t have the steadiest of hands, so I trimmed that off with scissors.

I stamped the Merry & Bright sentiment, which is from the Big Holiday Words set, using VersaMark ink onto black cardstock and heat set that using Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out using the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts, because I love that stacked sentiment look! The panel was adhered to the card base, the sentiment was glued in place and some Opal Dazzling Gems were added to finish up.

That does it for this project! I’m glad that I finally got the hang of making shaker cards, but I don’t even want to think about how many I messed up back in the day! Thanks for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!
