Spellbinders Thinking of You Anemone

Hello Friends, and thanks for stopping by! The May Spellbinders releases are live, and I’m back today with a project featuring the Anemone, along with the Script Text BetterPress Plate and the Summer Solstice Garden Sentiments. Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the Anemone from Neenah 110lb cardstock, along with black and yellow for the pieces. I did some light ink blending on the petals using Peony ink. I knew that I was going to want some leaves, so I cut those using the Vivid Blooms set from Green Apple cardstock and did some ink blending on those with Pearfection ink.

I gold foiled the Script Text plate onto Neenah 110lb cardstock, and gold foiled the sentiment onto black cardstock. I trimmed out the sentiment with the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment. I trimmed the script background and gold splattered it before adhering it to a black panel.

The leaves were secured in place using liquid glue, while the flowers and the sentiment were adhered using foam strips. To finish up, everything was adhered to the card base, and I added some gold metallic pearls to one leaf.

That does it for this project! I hope you’ll take some time to check out all of the new May releases over on the Spellbinders website! There really is a lot of good stuff! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Spellbinders Floral Birthday Grid

Hello Friends, and welcome back! The May Spellbinders releases are live today, and I’m back with a project featuring the new Journal Grid along with the Anemone and Cosmos florals. Let’s run through the details for this one!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the Anemone and Cosmos flowers from Neenah 110lb, pink, yellow and black cardstocks. I did some light ink blending on the flowers using Bubblegum ink. Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers using liquid glue and set those aside while I figured out the rest of the card.

I went ahead and gold foiled the Journal Grid onto a panel of Neenah 110lb and added some gold splatter for additional interest. While I was foiling, I gold foiled the Summer Solstice Garden Sentiments onto black cardstock and trimmed that out with the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for a stacked look.

I adhered the grid to my card base using foam tape, and started playing around with placement. I decided that I need some other florals and leaves and cut those using Vivid Blooms and Sealed Wildflowers from pink, yellow and green cardstock. I did do some ink blending on one of the smaller flowers using Carnation ink and some Pearfection ink on the leaves.

I secured the leaves in place on the panel using liquid glue, followed by the smaller flowers and then the larger flowers. The sentiment was glued in place, and I added some Gold Metallic Pearls to finish up.

That does it for this project! Everyone knows that I love florals, so I really enjoyed this project! I think that I’m going to get a lot of use out of this Grid Journal Press Plate, as you can use it with inks and foils, which I love! Don’t forget to head over to the Spellbinders website to check out all of the new releases! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Spellbinders Just A Note Daisies

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Here’s another project featuring the Yana’s Daisies from the Spellbinders April releases. Let’s get right into the details, shall we?

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the daisies once from Neenah 110lb cardstock and once from gold cardstock. I also cut the base layer from Neenah as well for the assembly. While the white petals were still in place, I did some ink blending on those using Morning and Heather inks.

I adhered the gold outline portion to the base layer using liquid glue, and then adhered the ink blended petals in place, along with the gold centers. The sentiment, which is from the Crafty Hugs Sentiments, was gold foiled onto Neenah and trimmed out several times for a stacked sentiment look.

My background panel was created using the Nested Postage Labels & Tag, and then splattered with gold acrylic ink. This panel was adhered to the card base, the daisies were adhered using foam tape and the sentiment was adhered using foam strips. I decided that I needed some additional leaves and cut those from the Club Blooms set using Neenah and gold cardstock. I added some clear drops to finish up this project.

I hope you enjoyed this one! The Yana’s Daisies products are super gorgeous and if you haven’t checked them out, I do encourage you to do so! Thanks for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Bold Daisy Trio

Hello Friends and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the new Daisy Trio and Crafty Hugs Sentiments from the Spellbinders April releases! Let’s not waste time and go ahead and go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by adding BetterPress Black ink to the Daisy Trio BetterPress Plate and running that through the Platinum Six. I did have to repeat this process several times to get a good dark impression. Once satisfied with the black, I used the coordinating stencils to add color to the daisies using Honey, Citrine, Guava, Sprout and Field inks.

This panel was then trimmed down using the Nested Postage Labels & Tag set, and adhered to the card base using foam tape. The sentiment, which is from the new Crafty Hugs Sentiments set, was gold foiled onto black cardstock and trimmed out several times for a stacked sentiment. This was secured with liquid glue, along with some Gold Metallic Pearls for a little bit of shine.

That does it for this project! I do love a dark card sometimes! I hope you enjoyed this project! Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Spellbinders Birthday Daisies

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Spellbinders April releases are live and I’m back again today with another project featuring Yana’s Daisies. I previously posted a project that used just the petals from this project, so you’ll have to check that out. Let’s go ahead and get into the details, shall we?

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting Yana’s Daisies several times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I knew that I wanted to use just the outline for this project, so I carefully trimmed the leaves off of the daisies. Once I was done with my cutting, I splattered the daisy outlines with black acrylic ink.

My background was created using Gravel cardstock along with the Nestled Postage Labels & Tag set. I did not want to have to cut the daisies again to get black centers, so I just used a black ink pad for that. I began adhering the daisy clusters with liquid glue, filling in all of the spaces and trimming off the excess. The sentiment was silver foiled onto black cardstock and trimmed out several times for a stacked sentiment.

The gray panel was adhered to a black panel, the sentiment was adhered using foam strips, the centers were added in place and clear drops were added to finish up.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space! Don’t forget to check out all of the April releases over the Spellbinders webpage. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Spellbinders Feel Better Daisies

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! The new April releases from Spellbinders are live, and I’m back today with a project featuring Yana’s Daisies! Yana makes beautiful florals, and I was so excited to be able to play with this collection! Let’s go ahead and go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by cutting Yana’s Daisies several times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. You’ll see in a later post where I use the outline of the daisies, but for this post, I wanted to use all of these petals that were leftover from that project! I picked out a bunch of the petals and did some light ink blending on those using Bubblegum ink. I also did some ink blending on the centers using Honey ink.

I retrieved some Press n Seal from the kitchen, and arranged the petals upside down around one of the centers, basically creating my own flower with the pieces. Once everything was arranged, I placed tiny pieces of foam tape on the back of the flower pieces. Once that was done, I arranged the flowers onto my panel, which I had previously splattered with gold acrylic ink.

I wanted some greenery for the flowers, so I die cut one of the leaves from the Club Blooms set from Green Apple cardstock and did some ink blending using Artichoke ink. I tucked those under the petals and secured them in place with liquid glue.

The sentiment, which is from the You Are Everything Sentiments set, was gold foiled and trimmed out several times with the coordinating die and adhered atop the panel with foam strips. To finish up, I added some Gold Metallic Pearls for some added shine.

That does it for this project! I thought this project was going to be a lot more tedious than it was, and I think that was because of the Press n Seal! Don’t forget to head on over to Spellbinders to check out all of the April releases! Thanks again for joining me, and have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Floral Frame Grid

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ve had the My Life in Pictures set from the Spellbinders March releases on my desk, and finally found time to play with it and I’m so happy with what I came up with! Let’s go ahead and run through the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the frame portion of the set a few times from Neenah 110lb cardstock and black cardstock. I poked out the little edge pieces from the white and left them in place on the black, and adhered the frames together with liquid glue. I also die cut the smile sentiment in the set once from gold, twice from Neenah and once from black cardstock and adhered all of those together, offsetting the black layer ever so slightly.

I wanted to create a grid type pattern, so I pulled out several floral sets that had some smaller die cuts in them. I also pulled a few colors of Spellbinders cardstock as well. I’ll list all of those supplies at the bottom of this post for your convenience. Once everything was cut, I did some light ink blending on the pieces using Guava, Gravel and Field inks. Once that was complete, I assembled the flowers and set those aside while I assembled the rest of the card.

For assembly, I cut a panel of Neenah slightly smaller than my card base and began adhering the frame pieces on a diagonal, trimming off the excess when complete. I then adhered the leaves in place and then secured the flowers with a mix of foam squares and liquid glue. The panel was adhered to the card base, the sentiment was glued directly in place and gold metallic pearls were added to finish up.

A relatively simple card design, but a little time consuming with all of the die cutting. I happen to love die cutting so I didn’t mind it all, and I really love how this card turned out! I appreciate you stopping by, and I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day!

Spellbinders Floral Scribbled Letter

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! The Spellbinders March releases are available, and I’m back today with a project featuring the new Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder, along with the Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates. Can I just say right away that I absolutely love this embossing folder?! I love something that gives just a hint of texture but adds to the project! Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by pulling cardstock colors that I wanted to use, which were Blush, Dahlia, Waterfall, Teal Topaz, Peridot, Fern, Beeswax and Saffron. I did use some Neenah for the white flowers as well. Once the papers were pulled, I went to work die cutting the flowers and leaves from the Colorful Expressions Blooms.

Those pieces were then ink blended using Carnation, Field, Honey, Surf and Gravel inks before being assembled. I created the background using the Scribbled Letter folder and then lightly rubbed a gold ink pad across the raised side of the panel. The sentiment, which is from the new Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates, was gold foiled and trimmed down.

I adhered the background panel to my card base first and then secured all of the other pieces with liquid glue, beginning with the underneath pieces. I added gold metallic pearls to the one branch and the three white flowers before adding the sentiment with foam strips.

That does it for this project! You all know that I love florals, so I really enjoyed this project, and I’m sure that I’m going to get lots of use from this embossing folder! Don’t forget to check out all of the new March releases over on Spellbinders’ website. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Carry On With Courage

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring florals with some absolutely gorgeous paper from Your Paper Insider! I love grays and black, but this pink cardstock is beyond gorgeous! The color doesn’t come through in the pictures, but it’s the softest, palest pink that I’ve ever come across, and I thought it paired so well with the dark colors on this card. If you haven’t checked out Your Paper Insider, I highly recommend that you do so! It’s a fun subscription box that features papers from all over the world to include many cardstock colors and specialty papers. Let’s go ahead and get into the details for this project.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting some florals and leaves from the Spellbinders Vivid Blooms set using all of these colors from my subscription box. Once the florals were assembled, I went ahead and used the PinkFresh Studio Sparkling Diamonds plate on a panel of darker gray cardstock.

Before moving on, I did splatter that panel with some black acrylic ink for some added interest. The sentiment was created using the PinkFresh Studio Wonderful Sentiments and Opal foil. The was die cut several times to create a stacked sentiment.

I began assembling the card by adhering the gray leaves first using liquid glue and then adhering the pink leaves atop those. I then adhered the outside flowers, again with liquid glue, and then adhered the center flower with foam tape. The sentiment was adhered with foam strips, and I tucked in some additional leaves to fill in. Clear drops were added to finish up.

That does it for this project. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Take some time to check out Your Paper Insider to see if it’s something that interests you! Thanks again for hanging out with me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Spellbinders Floral ColorWheel

Hey There, Friends! Thanks for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring a shaped card using the new Color Swatch Wheel from Spellbinders. I’ve made several shaped cards lately, and I have to say that I quite enjoy it! Let’s go ahead and run through the details for this project!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began by die cutting the larger Color Wheel twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I scored one of those at 1/8th and used the bone folder to give it a good crease before securing the two pieces together with liquid glue. I then went to work cutting the different colors of cardstock using the swatch layer die cut.

The color combination for this card came from a Color Cube inspiration. I’ve said it before, if you haven’t tried the Color Cube, I highly recommend it! The new ColorWheel cardstock colors used on this card were Peridot, Saffron, Waterfall, Beeswax, Teal Topaz and Dahlia. Once all of those were cut, I glued them in place and went to work on the florals.

I used all of the same colors for the florals, which is from the Little Blooms set, with the addition of Raven. I assembled the flowers and then began gluing everything in its place beginning with the leaves. The middle flower was secured with a foam square for a little bit of dimension. The sentiment, which is from the Making Me Smile Sentiments set, was gold foiled onto Raven cardstock and trimmed out several times with the included die cut. That was then glued atop the floral. I added some gold metallic pearls to finish up.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to create with the new ColorWheel cardstock colors and possibly to create a shaped card. Thanks again for joining me, and I have you have a fabulous day!
