Simon Says Stamp Halloween Bats

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks for joining me! How’s your STAMPtember going? Today’s project is featuring the new Halloween Basics set along with the older Big Bat set. Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

I began this project by stamping the flying bats onto a panel of light blue cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting it with clear embossing powder. I actually did that step twice to achieve a smoother finish on the bats.

I then ink blended the edges of the stamped panel using Sky, Dusk, Night and Galaxy inks. Since I started with a light blue panel, I really only needed to ink the edges. I used a deckle edge die to trim the panel down before giving it a good dose of white splatter.

The sentiment, which is from the Big Bat set, was die cut once from black glitter cardstock and twice from regular black cardstock. I also cut a small bat from the glitter cardstock as well. The panel was adhered to the card base with foam tape, and the sentiment and bat were glued directly to the panel to finish up.

A pretty simple card for today! I don’t normally make Halloween cards, but I enjoyed the blue ink blending to create a somewhat night time scene. Don’t forget to check out the entire STAMPtember release! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Floral Love & Hugs

Hello Friends and welcome back! I hope you’re enjoying STAMPtember so far! Today’s post is featuring the new Stitched Flowers Embossing Folder, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I began this project by embossing a panel of black cardstock in the folder and trimming it down slightly smaller than an A2 card. I then used these super awesome metallic rub-ons to add the gold color to the panel using my finger. There are lots of fun colors in this palette, and I really want to try another one in a different color.

Once I was done with the rub-ons, I die cut the sentiment once from black glossy cardstock, once from black and once from a scrap of cardstock that would coordinate with the metallic. I also cut the shadow portion twice and stacked all of those together.

My panel was adhered to a black panel for contrast, the sentiment was adhered using foam strips and some black gems were added to the centers of the flowers to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cardinal

Hello Friends, and welcome back to my blog! Hope you’re having a great STAMPtember so far! Today’s project is featuring the new Cute Cardinal along with some older products. Let’s get into the details!

I began this project by die cutting the cardinal from Poppy, Black and Beeswax cardstock and ink blending using Brick ink. I also cut the Arching Leaf Border from Sage cardstock and used Field for the ink blending on that. Once I was done ink blending the leaves, I gave them a good splatter of white, along with my forest green background. When the splatter was dry, I applied some liquid glue down the centers of the leaves and added some glitter for an icy look.

The sentiment was stamped onto that same green cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set using white embossing powder. It was trimmed out three times for that stacked sentiment look. When my glitter was dry, I started the assembly process.

I arranged the leaves and secured those in place using liquid glue, tucking in the extra leaves from the die cut set. I also added red gems in random places for the appearance of berries. The cardinal and sentiment were secured with foam tape, and the panel was adhered to the card base to finish up.

That does it for this project! I’m really loving that snowy, icy look on my holiday cards, so I’m thinking that I might have to incorporate it into my personal Christmas cards for this year. Simon Says Stamp Envelope Grid

Hello and welcome to STAMPtember! There’s a huge Blog Party happening today to celebrate the launch of STAMPtember, and everyone participating has a graphic for you to claim a free gift with purchase, or a free gift with a certain dollar amount, so join the scavenger hunt for all of the deals!

Over the last couple of months, I have created cards by taking the smallest die from a set and repeating the pattern. Today’s card is another example of this. While I love this new Mail Call set, I thought it would be cute to grid an envelope grid, so let’s go through the deets!

I began this project by die cutting the envelope several times from quite a few different colors of cardstock. I wasn’t sure how many I would need, so I just went ahead and cut a bunch. I then added these tiny heart stickers, which are from Doodlebug Designs, that I’ve had forever.

The background was created using the new A2 Postage Rectangles along with some black splatter. The sentiment was stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set using clear embossing powder. I trimmed it out several times using the coordinating die to create that stacked sentiment that we all love.

I decided on the sentiment placement and adhered that with foam strips, while the envelopes were adhered with foam tape. A super simple card, but I love the way it turned out, and I’m so glad that I took the time to do all of the die cutting.

Simon Says Stamp Hello Sunflower

Hello Friends, and welcome to STAMPtember! Have you had a chance to check out the entire STAMPtember release yet? I’d love to know your favorites in the comments! Stay tuned for a huge blog party taking place tomorrow! I really had fun making this card, which uses the new Sunflower Dreams stamp paired with some other leaves. Let’s go through the details!

I began this project by stamping the Sunflower Dreams onto a panel of watercolor paper using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting it using clear embossing powder. I then pulled out my watercolors and painted the main flower only. Once I was done with the painting, I went back in and added some details using colored pencils, Copic markers and a Copic Multiliner pen. Because I only wanted the larger flower, I set out on the tedious task of fussy cutting.

I then die cut the Abundant Leaves several times from Neenah, as well as gold cardstock, and I cut the center of the flower from the Autumn Sunflower set. I went ahead and ink blended the green leaves using Sprout, Field and Surf inks. The sentiment was cut once from gold cardstock and twice from the dark green cardstock to create a stacked sentiment.

The forest green background was gold splattered before adding the other elements. The gold leaves were added first, with the green leaves being offset slightly. The sunflower was added using foam tape, as was that extra sunflower center that was cut. The sentiment was adhered directly to the card panel using liquid glue to finish up.
