Simon Says Stamp In My Thoughts Butterfly

Today’s card is once again featuring the new Whirl Butterflies, and I had much fun with these butterflies, and probably made too many projects with them, but at least they’ve gotten some good use! Let’s run through the details for this one, shall we?

Main Products:

I began this card by die cutting the SSS Spindle Flower from Neenah 110lb cardstock, and doing some ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Carnation and Zest. I chose this flower because I had never used it before, and now I’m wondering why I haven’t used it before!! It’s such a great flower! Once the flowers were colored, I assembled the pieces together using liquid glue.

The flowers were going to need leaves, because all of my flowers always need leaves! I used the SSS Budding Branches for this and did some ink blending using Seafoam and Sprout for these. I also went ahead and cut the SSS Whirl Butterflies from gold cardstock and set that aside. My panel was cut using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames and then splattered with gold acrylic ink for added texture and interest.

I glued some of the leaves to the panel and then glued the florals atop those. The rest of the leaves were then glued in place, filling in the gaps, while the gold butterfly was adhered using SSS 3D Foam Strips. The butterfly doesn’t come with a body, and I wanted mine to have one so I used the body from the SSS Layered Cosmic Butterfly and secured that in place.

For added interest, I love adhering jewels to the ‘bud’ portion of these leaves, and did that using PFS Ballet Slipper jewels. I stamped the sentiment from the SSS Checking In set using VersaMark Ink, heat set that using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder, and used the coordinating die to trim it out, along with two additional cuts. Those were all adhered together before being adhered to the panel using foam strips. The entire panel was then adhered to the card base using foam tape for added dimension to finish up.

Framed English Garden

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks so much for stopping by! I spent some time not too long ago playing with some PinkFresh Studio Washi Tapes, and today’s project is a product of that playtime! So, let’s run through the detail, shall we?

To begin, I adhered a portion of the PFS English Garden Washi Tape to a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and used the coordinating die to trim those pieces out. I then used the PFS Sparkling Diamonds cover plate to cut another panel of Neenah to use for the background.

I also pulled out a scrap and used the PFS Stitched Scalloped Rectangles to cut one of the smaller rectangles from this set. I set all of these pieces aside while I worked on the sentiment, and for that I used the PFS Scripted Sentiments. I used gold hot foil to foil the sentiment and used the coordinating die to trim it out. I cut two additional sentiments and adhered those together to make it a bit more sturdy and to add more dimension.

To assemble the card, I adhered the frame to the background panel using foam tape, placing some of the washi tape pieces underneath it. I adhered the additional pieces atop the frame using liquid glue. I decided that it needed some additional leaves, so I used the PFS Leafy Branch and cut a few from Neenah and tucked those behind the flowers, securing with glue.

I adhered the sentiment, offset from the frame just a little bit, using a combination of glue and foam tape. The panel was then adhered to the card base before adding a few PFS Gold Metallic Pearls to finish up.

I really enjoy working with the PinkFresh Studio washi tapes, because beautiful cards come together so effortlessly! They have so many to choose from and each one is gorgeous in its own way! Simon Says Stamp Graceful Butterfly

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks for stopping by! I’m back today featuring the new Graceful Butterfly set from Simon’s latest release, Let’s Chill. What an awesome release this is! Have you checked it out yet? I’d love to know your favorites! Let’s go through the details of this project.

I love white on white compositions with a hint of color, so that’s the direction that I went with this one. I began by using the SSS Graceful Butterfly embossing folder to emboss a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock. Before embossing, I did spritz my panel of cardstock with some water just to loosen the fibers of the paper.

Once embossed, I used the coordinating die to trim the butterflies and bodies. I did however, only use one of the butterflies for this project and saved the others for future projects. While die cutting, I used the same die to trim the butterfly from various cardstocks, adhering the center of those together in rainbow order using liquid glue. Once that was done, I spritzed the butterfly with a sheer shimmer spray. Unfortunately, that doesn’t show up in the pictures.

Now on to the background. I used the SSS Stitched Whirl Background to cut a panel of Neenah 110 and trimmed it down just a bit further because I wanted to mount it onto a black panel, as I always do. I used a black Copic Multiliner pen to enhance some of the “whirls” on the panel before gluing the butterfly.

For the sentiment, I used the SSS Silhouette Sentiments set and stamped the sentiment on a scrap of black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and embossed it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating die to trim it out, cutting three additional times as well to adhere all of those together. To assemble the card, I glued the butterfly and the sentiment directly to the panel and adhered the panel to a black panel using foam tape for dimension. I also added some iridescent confetti to finish up.
