Simon Says Stamp Birthday Splash

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks for stopping by to check out today’s post featuring the new Undersea Friends set from Simon’s latest release, Friend Like You. This was an easy one, so let’s get into it.

I began this project by stamping one of the Undersea Friends onto some Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting it using clear embossing powder. I then colored the image with Copic Markers C00, C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5.

There is a die set that does with these stamps, but I did not have that, so I fussy cut my image. I then pulled some blue cardstock from my stash and cut those to fit my card base and tore the top edges to resemble waves. I stamped the sentiment and the bubbles directly onto the card and glued my blue layers in place, while the fish was adhered using foam strips.

That does it for this one. A pretty simple, yet cute card. I don’t normally prefer cutesy sets, but I think this card came out good. I hope you like it as well. Thanks so much for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day! Stay awesome, friend!

Spellbinders Color Swatch Wheel

Hello Crafters and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Spellbinders Color
Wheel cardstock colors and the Color Swatch Wheel dies. The purpose of this post is really just to inspire you with some color combinations that feature the colors of cardstock. Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I took my color inspirations from the Color Cubes and matched the new Spellbinders cardstock colors to those, or as close as I could get them. I did add a die cut flower to each color as well, to give a little more detail. I hope you find some unique combinations that you might enjoy working with.

I could have made hundreds of combinations, but I got nine made. I was limited with my cardstock, so I made the best of it! If you haven’t used the Color Cubes, I highly recommend them! I do find myself getting stuck with colors sometimes, and it’s so helpful to just thumb through the cards to find a new combo that interests me. I’ve provided links to the colors that I used, along with some sampler packs. There are packs that include all of the colors as well, but at the time that this was written, those were out of stock and I was unable to provide a link to that.

Simon Says Stamp Floral Birthday Love STAMPtember Blog Party

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m so happy that you joined me for today’s HUGE STAMPtember blog party! Each stop throughout the party has a STAMPtember promotion, so you’ll want to check those out for sure! You can start your party experience here or by heading to Simon’s blog. My project is featuring the new Rustic Layering Flower in aqua tones with a hint of grey. This is such an awesome release, with so many more things coming during the month, so stay tuned for all of the excitement! Let’s go ahead and go through the details for my project!

I began this project by pulling an inspiration card from The Color Cubes, and then I ink blended a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Mist and Raindrop. Those two colors seemed to match the color palette best. Once the ink blending was complete, I cut the Rustic Layering Flower twice from that panel. I do a little more ink blending in the center of the flowers for more depth before assembling the flowers using liquid glue.

Now that I had the flowers, I had to decide on the rest of the card! I opted to go with the Whirl Diamond Plate for my background, and I cut a bunch of leaves from grey cardstock using the Budding Branches. In laying out the card, I decided that I needed one more small flower, so I cut that and assembled it as well.

I splattered my card base using TH Distress Oxide Spray in Hickory Smoke before adhering the background panel. I began adhering the grey leaves in place first using liquid glue, trimming down as necessary. Once I was happy with the leaf placement, I adhered the flowers using foam strips.

For the sentiment, I used the Mix & Match Butterflies set and stamped that using VersaFine Onyx Black and heat set it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out using the coordinating dies, and made two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment. That was then adhered using foam strips as well. To finish up, I added some Surf Dazzling Gems and some silver metallic pearls to the “buds” of the branches.

That does it for this one! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I always love working with die cut flowers, so this card was totally in my wheelhouse! Simon Says Stamp Foiled Starry Sky

Hello Crafters and welcome back! Thank you so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Starry Sky Foil Transfer Cards from Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You. Let’s jump right into the details!

I never seem to have enough birthday cards, so I knew I wanted to make this card into a birthday card. I began by foiling the SSS Starry Sky Transfer Card using Thermoweb Lapis Watercolor Foil and my Minc Mini. Once the foiling was complete, I used the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames to trim it down.

I used the SSS Basic Box Card Happy Birthday sentiment and cut that once from silver cardstock and twice from black cardstock. I also cut the shadow portion twice and adhered all of the pieces together using liquid glue.

The panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape and the sentiment was glued directly to the panel to finish up.

A super simple card for today, but this Lapis foil is really beautiful and has an interesting feel to it. I hope you enjoyed this project, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space. Spellbinders Birthday Balloons

Hello Friend, and welcome back to my blog! Today’s project is featuring the new Spellbinders Sprinkled Confetti BetterPress Press Plate in the form of a fun birthday card! Let’s get into the details!

I began this project by foiling the Sprinkled Confetti plate using gold foil and trimmed it down using the Spellbinders Nested Postage Labels and Tag set. I then went to work on the balloons using various pink cardstock colors and the Spellbinders Color Block Balloons set.

Once the balloons were assembled, I added some flowers to the balloons for some added interest using the Spellbinders Mini Blooms and Sprigs set. These were flowers that I already had made from a previous project, and I thought they added a nice touch.

I foiled the Happy Birthday sentiment, which is from the Spellbinders Birthday Celebrations Collection, using the same gold foil, and trimmed it out with the coordinating die along with three additional cuts and stacked those. Unfortunately, this Glimmer Hot Foil set of sentiments has been discontinued.

I adhered the balloon strings using liquid glue, and the balloons along with the sentiment were adhered using foam strips. Everything was then adhered to the card base to finish up.

That does it for this project! Even though this plate is included in a holiday collection, I thought it would be great for a birthday card. I can totally see it as snow too! Simon Says Stamp Birthday Whirl Medallion

Hello, Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Whirl Medallion from Simon’s latest release, Be Bold. If you’ve been around here for a little while, you probably know that I like creating backgrounds with single dies, and today’s project does just that. So, let’s go run through the deets for this one!

Main Products:

I began this project by cutting a bunch of the SSS Whirl Medallions from gold cardstock. Once I had enough of the medallions, I grabbed a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and started playing around with the placement. I knew that I wanted to cover the whole panel, so I began in the middle of the panel.

I adhered the first medallion with liquid glue, and worked my way outward from there. Once all of the medallions were placed, I trimmed off the excess. This panel was then adhered to a black panel with foam tape for contrast. I used this Happy Birthday sentiment, which is from the SSS Birthday Basics set, and stamped that using VersaMark Ink and heat setting it with Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder.

I used the coordinating die to cut out the sentiment, along with two additional cuts and glued all of those together for a stacked look. The sentiment was then adhered in the center of the card with SSS 3D Foam Strips, and the entire panel was adhered to the card base.

Pretty simple card for today! Die cutting is my jam, and I love creating backgrounds with a single die or with smaller dies.
