Simon Says Stamp Elegant Birthday

Hello Friends and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a card featuring the new Elegant Modern Greetings from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Dear Friend. I always love getting to see all the awesome things in new releases, along with all of the amazing inspirations from the rest of the team. Let’s run through the details of this card.

To begin, I got to work on the background and pulled out some Dina Wakely Gloss Sprays in Magenta, Lemon and Turquoise. I played around with that until I was satisfied with the look and colors, letting it dry between applications because I didn’t want it to get muddy looking.

Next, I used the SSS Fab Floral Plate and cut that from a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock. I also used the SSS Fab Flower die and cut three flowers from some coordinating cardstock. I applied some liquid glue on the edges and around the flowers of the cover panel and adhered the acetate. I then applied some small strips of foam tape around the edges of that.

I sprinkled in some confetti mix and adhered my background panel to the cover. I adhered the turquoise flowers as well and added an embellishment to the middle of those.

I stamped the birthday sentiments from the SSS Elegantly Modern Greetings onto Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I fussy cut those and adhered to the panel before adhering everything to the card base.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it! Don’t forget to click over and check out the entire Dear Friend release, and let me know your favorites! I hope you have a wonderful day, and stay awesome friend!

Simon Says Stamp Painted Rainbow Birthday

Hello Friends, and thank you so much for stopping by. Are you getting lots of inspiration from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Dear Friend? What are your favorites from this release? I’ve really enjoyed playing with the Painted Rainbow background stamp, and today’s post features another project using that stamp. So, let’s run through the details!

To begin, I popped a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock in the Misti and stamped the different pieces of stamp using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in an assortment of Bubblegum, Cheeky, Melon, Lemonade, Seafoam and Lilac. I stamped one portion of the stamp, cleaned it, and moved on to the next portion with the next color. Once the background was completed, I trimmed it down using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles.

I stamped the birthday sentiment from the SSS Clean Line Stacks set onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating die to trim out the sentiment, cutting it an additional two more times and adhering all of those together using liquid glue.

The sentiment was then adhered in the center of the panel, and I added some coordinating PinkFresh Studio Jewels along the arches of the rainbow for added interest and bling. Because, every card needs just a little bit of bling! Well, I guess this is a lot of bling!

The panel was then adhered to the card base using foam tape for some extra dimension, because dimension is life!

That does it for this project! Super simple, but I love the way it turned out! The jewels coordinate so well with the Simon ink colors! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty! Don’t forget to check out the entire Dear Friend release over on Simon’s website. Have a wonderful day and stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Dreamy Daisy Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! Today’s card is featuring the new Painted Rainbow background stamp from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Dear Friend. This is such a fun release and I had lots of fun playing with different color combos using this stamp. Let’s get to the details!

This is a pull apart stamp, so you can stamp the arches of the rainbow as close or as far apart as you’d like them. I did do a card that has the spacing as the stamp is put together, and you’ll see that another day. Anyhoo, I began by placing a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock in the Misti and stamping the arches in the selected colors of SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink, which are Seafoam, Surf, Violet, Amethyst and Lilac.

Once I had stamped enough to cover a panel, I trimmed it down using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles. I then cut several flowers using the SSS Dreamy Daisy Layers and did some light ink blending on them using the Seafoam ink. I also cut some leaves using the SSS Winsome Branch. I adhered the flowers together using Bearly Art Glue and set everything aside while I worked on the sentiment.

I’m running short on birthday cards, so I opted to use the SSS Basic Box Card Happy Birthday die and cut it three times, adhering all of those together for added dimension. I began the placement and assembly of the card by gluing the leaves under the flowers and gluing the larger daisy directly to the panel. The other two flowers were adhered using SSS 3D Foam Squares.

I nestled the sentiment in the middle using glue and added some PFS Iridescent Clear Drops for that little bit of bling and shine. Everything was then adhered to the card base, which is Neenah 110lb cardstock.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty! Thanks so much for joining me, and my apologies for the extended break. Don’t forget to check out the entire Dear Friend release and let me know your favorites! Have a wonderful day and stay awesome!

Honeycomb and Triangle Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends and thanks for joining me toady! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here, but it’s good to be back in the studio creating and having fun! Today’s card set is featuring several products, some new and some older favorites. So, let’s go through the details!

To begin, I cut several backgrounds from Neenah 110lb cardstock using the new-ish Concord and 9th Honeycomb Quilt Top die and the Triangle Background. These are so much fun and there are so many possibilities for awesome cards using different designs, as well as different color combinations. Once the backgrounds were cut, I pulled out two different sets of color combos using Concord and 9th cardstock and used the included dies to cut the triangles and hexagons.

For the first card, I stamped the sentiment from the SSS Clean Line Stacks onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating die set to trim it out along with two additional die cuts and adhered those together using glue. I determined the placement of the triangles and adhered the sentiment to the panel and began adhering the triangles using SSS 3D Foam Squares. The panel was then adhered to a black panel for contrast, and then to the card base. Once completed, I added some PFS Matte Gold Metallic Pearls for some added bling.

On the second card, I die cut the SSS Basic Box Card Happy Birthday sentiment three times from black cardstock, and adhered all of those together using liquid glue. Again, I adhered the sentiment and began adhering the triangles using foam squares for dimension. For this one, I added some shiny PFS Gold Metallic Pearls.

For the third card, I switched to the Honeycomb Quilt Top dies. Once again, I die cut the sentiment three times and glued those together and then glued it directly to the panel and adhered the hexagons using foam squares. For that added bling, I added some PFS Twilight Ombre Glitter Drops to finish it off before adhering everything to the card base.

I actually ended up making eleven cards using these two cover plate dies from Concord and 9th, most of them being birthday cards since my stash has kind of dwindled over time. It was super easy to do the cutting, and then sit and assemble.

I hope you enjoyed these cards, and I hope they inspire you to get crafty. Thanks again for stopping by today, and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Black Eyed Susans Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! How’s your STAMPtember going so far? What are your favorites from the new release? Yeah, I’m nosey! There are so many cool things that it’s hard for me to narrow down my favorites! Anyhoo, today’s project is featuring the new Black Eyed Susans stamp set, so let’s run through the details!

To begin, I stamped the floral images from the SSS Black Eyed Susans set onto a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I pulled out some Copic markers and began coloring using Y06, Y08, Y18, YR23, E39, E79, E99, G24, G82, YG61, N0 and N1.

Once all of the coloring was complete, I used a Copic Multi Liner 0.5 to add some additional black dot detail to the centers of the flowers. Next, I stamped a bee from the set twice in the same way and colored those using one of the yellow markers along with the Copic 110 Special Black marker. For a bit more added detail, I went over the wings using a Wink of Stella marker as well before fussy cutting them.

I trimmed the floral panel using PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles and adhered it to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner. I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the same set and stamped that onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. Once that was done, I trimmed it down and adhered it to the panel using SSS Foam Tape.

I adhered the bees to the panel as well using SSS Foam Squares, before adhering everything to the card base. No card is complete without some bling, so I added some PFS Iridescent Clear Drops to finish up this one.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty! Don’t forget to swing by and check out the entire STAMPtember release! Have yourself a wonderful day and stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Birthday Floral

Hello Friends, and thanks for stopping by! I’m still playing with goodies from Simon’s latest release, Dream Big. What are your favorites from this one? Today’s project is featuring the new Terrace Floral Embossing Folder and Die Cut. This is a really beautiful folder with so many possibilities! Let’s go through the details.

I began by trimming a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock, spritzing it with some water and running it through the die cutting machine inside the folder.

Once the panel was ready, I did some ink blending on the flowers and leaves using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Lemonade, Citrine, Sprout, Fairway and Latte. I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a black panel for contrast using SSS Dot Tape Runner.

I used the SSS Happy Birthday Brush Script die for the sentiment. I cut it once from gold cardstock and once from black cardstock. I also cut the shadow twice from black cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

The sentiment was then adhered to the embossed panel using SSS 3D Foam Squares and then adhered to the card base. I added some PFS Gold Metallic Pearls for that little bit of bling, because all cards need a little bling, am I right?!

That does it for this one! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty! Don’t forget to stop by and check out the entire Dream Big release and let me know your favorites! Have an awesome day and stay awesome!

PinkFresh Studio Rainbow Floral Birthday

Hello Friends! I hope you’re having a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by! I made today’s card a bit ago, but just haven’t gotten around to writing or posting it. To be honest, I’ve been kind of lazy and lacking in motivation. It happens to all of us .. I think! Anyhoo, this card is featuring the PFS Rainbow Floral Washi, and I just have to say that I’m in love with it! Let’s go through the deets!

I began by adhering the PFS Rainbow Floral Washi to a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock and using the coordinating die to trim out all of the pieces. I actually made a few panels so that I had lots of pieces to work with.

The background texture of the card panel was made using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Plaid. I love using these types of plates on white, because it just adds the slightest bit of detail and interest without distracting from the focal point of the card.

I used the PFS Stitched Scallop Circle dies to cut two of those. One of the smaller and one of the larger circles. I glued the circles together and adhered them to the panel using foam tape. I then arranged some of the rainbow pieces around the circles using a combination of liquid glue and foam tape for support.

It needed some extra leaves, of course, so I cut a few using the PFS Leafy Branch die and tucked those under the edges securing with glue. I had previously made the sentiment using the PFS Perfect Sentiments Hot Foil Plate, along with Spellbinders Champagne foil. This sentiment is stacked three high for additional support. I glued the sentiment in the center of the smaller circle and added a few PFS Gold Metallic Pearls for good measure. Everything was then, of course, adhered to the card base.

These washi tapes make it so easy to create beautiful cards with minimal effort! If you haven’t tried them, I highly encourage you to do so. Thanks again for stopping by. Don’t forget to stay your awesome, wonderful self!

Simon Says Stamp Expletive Birthday

Hello Friends! How are you today? I hope you’re feeling great and having a wonderful day! I’m back today with a card that I made a bit ago, but just never got around to blogging or posting it! It’s using the SSS Oh Expletive die. Can I just say that I absolutely love this die?! I just think that it’s so funny and playful! Anyhoo, let’s run through the details, shall we?

This card begins with a piece of patterned paper from The Craft Consortium’s Patina paper pad. I found this pad along with a few other beauties at my local craft store and had to snap them up right away! Anyhoo, I started by stamping the SSS Wavy Circles Background onto the paper using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I repeated that process a second time to achieve a smoother finish on the embossing. Next, I trimmed the paper using PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles .. this is one of my favorite dies to use for decorative edges!

The next part is basically just a bunch of playing! I had no idea how it would turn out, but I just went for it anyhoo! I splattered the panel using Royal Talens Amsterdam Light Gold Acrylic Ink and Ranger Gloss Spray from Dina Wakely in Turquoise. I sat that aside to dry and worked on the sentiment, knowing that I was going to come back and add more to it. I trimmed the SSS Oh Expletive die once from polished gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock, adhering all of those together using liquid glue.

Now coming back to the panel, I used the Stampers Anonymous Stencil THS006 and added some Tacky When Dry Gel Medium. This also has to set aside to dry before proceeding. Fast forward .. once that was dry, I added some Nuvo Gold Gilding Flakes using my finger and just brushed away all of the excess. Now, I have a relatively cool mixed media-ish background!

I added the sentiment to the panel using liquid glue, and also added some SSS Reverse Sassy Birthday sub-sentiments as well using foam tape. All cards need bling in my opinion, so I added a few PFS Gold Metallic Pearls to coordinate with the gold sentiment. The panel was then adhered to a black panel using foam tape again, before being adhered to the card base, which is Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock, using SSS Dot Tape Runner.

That finishes up this one! I hope you enjoyed it! I always love the look of mixed media cards, but don’t feel that I’m very good at it, so I usually never venture in that direction. It’s fun though! Thanks again for stopping by, and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Waffle Flower Leafy Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends! Hope you are doing well and having a fabulous day! I’m back once again with a card for the Waffle Flower September challenge, week one, which is leaves! For this project, my leaves focused on the Waffle Flower Sprigs Die set! So let’s get into the details!

To begin the project, I picked out one leaf from the WF Sprigs Die set and cut it twice from six different colors of cardstock from The Stamp Market. I then used the WF Big Dots Die to cut a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock.

Once the Big Dots panel was cut, I attached a panel of acetate using glue. Then I began the tedious task of placing foam tape on the back of the panel, so as to create a shaker card. I placed foam tape around all of the edges and in between each row of dots. I cut another panel of Neenah 110lb to use as the backer, and I poured my cute little pink shaker bits in the wells. Once I removed all of the backing from the foam tape, I carefully laid my cardstock backer atop that.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday, which is from the WF Big Dots Sentiments, using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I stamped and embossed it two more times, but using VersaMark ink for those. I trimmed that down and adhered it to the center of the panel using foam tape.

Next, I began arranging the leaves around the sentiment in rainbow order and gluing down just the bottom portion of each leaf, while tucking the next leaf underneath it, making my way around the sentiment. I thought this card could use a little addition of gold, so I chose another leaf from the WF Sprigs Die set and cut that five times from mirror gold cardstock. I adhered those around along with some PinkFresh Studio Gold Metallic Pearls. Everything was then adhered to the card base, which is also Neenah 110lb.

That finishes up this project! I hope you enjoyed it, and I’ll hope you hop over to the Waffle Flower Challenges and join the September challenge! Have a wonderful day and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Reverse Confetti Tropical Leaves Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! It’s day one of the Reverse Confetti Countdown to Confetti! I’ve had so much fun guest designing for Reverse Confetti this month! Their new July release is awesome, with so many fun, cute and beautiful things to play with! To celebrate the sneak peeks, we are having a blog hop! You can hop around and leave comments along the way for your chance to win a $15 gift certificate! Details below! Today’s project is featuring the new Tropical Leaves! So let’s jump right in, shall we?! Please note that the new product links will not be active until the release day and time.

I’m going to preface this post by saying that the gel print, which I used for the Tropical Leaves, was created a REALLY long time ago! Like a really long time ago! It’s just been sitting in my stash. With that being said, the tools used for the gel print were inexpensive acrylic paints, a brayer, thin white paper and the gel press itself. Nothing fancy at all!

To begin this project, I stamped the Tropical Leaves on the gel print using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed them with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I had two sheets of the gel prints, so I went ahead and repeated that process again. I then ran the stamped leaves through my die cutting machine using the Tropical Leaves Confetti Cuts. I ran the leaf die cuts through once more using Neenah 110lb and adhered those to my gel print leaves, only because my gel print leaves were on thin white paper and they needed some more stability. I pulled out a piece of watercolor paper and taped it to my board using masking tape. My board is an inexpensive clipboard from Target that I found a long time ago. I saturated my watercolor panel with water and added coordinating colors to it using my Karin Brushmarkers.

While that was drying, I used the Stitched Note and Frames Confetti Cuts to cut some frames from Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock. I then used the Peekaboo Cover Panel Confetti Cuts to cut my dry watercolor panel, and adhered that to my card base, which is also Neenah 110lb. I fashioned the frames atop the watercolor panel making an X in the center of the card using foam tape. I trimmed off the excess frame portions and added those to the outer corners of my card.

I opted for a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Word Up set. I stamped that on black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it down and mounted it to my card using foam tape as well. I then used a combination of foam tape and glue to position my leaves in the corners of the card around the sentiment.

To finish up, I added some PinkFresh Studio Jewels because every card needs bling in my opinion! I hope you enjoyed this project, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space! Don’t forget to check out the July release from Reverse Confetti! Super fun and super cute! You don’t want to miss it! Keep in mind that the new product links won’t be active until the release goes live on July 8th.
