Simon Says Stamp Artsy Butterflies Text

Hello Friends, and welcome back! I’m so glad you stopped by today to check out this project featuring the Artsy Butterflies. Let’s get right into the details!

If you’re like me, you’re hoarding patterned paper like it’s never going to be made again, am I right?! I decided that I would part with a little bit of it, and stamp the Artsy Butterflies onto a panel of pastel marble paper from P13 using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I then used the coordinating dies to trim them out, along with a black layer as well. I will link to a similar patterned paper at the bottom of this post.

The background is a combination of things with the bottom layer being a panel of ColorBlend cardstock that was black splattered and then a panel of Dina Wakely transparency that I smeared with Distress Paint.

The sentiment was stamped using VersaMark ink, heat set using detail white embossing powder and trimmed out with three additional cuts for a stacked sentiment. I adhered the black butterfly to the stamped butterfly using foam squares, and then those were adhered to the transparency using strong double sided tape. To adhere the transparency to the colored panel, I put some strips of the same tape on the backside underneath the butterflies so that you wouldn’t be able to see it. The sentiment was secured with the same tape as well.

Happy Thursday, Friends! I bought this set at the last @simonsaysstamp CREATE event and had never gotten around to using it! That tells you how long it’s been sitting around waiting on some love! I’m not usually a cutesy card person, but I couldn’t resist this Wild Love set! Speaking of CREATE, who am I going to see there?!?! Happy Wednesday! Anyone else thinking that these Artsy Butterflies from last month’s @simonsaysstamp card kit would pair beautifully with the new Long Stem Florals from the May kit ?!?! Wishing that I had the new kit to test it out!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I’m back today with a couple of cute, clean and simple cards using the tiny envelope die from the @simonsaysstamp Mail Call set. Sometimes, I like taking the small dies and creating fun projects with just those! I created different designs during this session that you’ll see down the road some time.

Spellbinders Trailside Birthday Raccoon

Hello Friends, and thanks for joining me! My friend, Allison Frazier, has a brand new collection with Spellbinders, and I was super excited to get to play with this Trailside Trio set! There are lots of products and add-ons for this set, but for today, I’m just playing with the trio. Let’s go through the details.

I love this set because my friend designed it, but I also love this set because I live on several acres of land, and we see these same animals on our property every day! I chose to play with the raccoon, because there is a raccoon that comes to visit me almost daily! She came the first time as a baby with her Mom back in 2021, and just last year, she brought her very own baby to visit me as well. She does allow me to pet her and hang out with her on the deck. So there you have it, a little glimpse into my life! I’ll add a pic of her at the bottom of this post, if you’re interested in seeing my raccoon friend!

I first die cut all of the pieces of the raccoon from different gray colors, white and black cardstock. On the white portions, I did some light ink blending using Flannel ink before assembling the raccoon with liquid glue. The design of this card came about because I actually had all of these flowers already assembled, so I thought a flower field could be super cute.

I used an older DOML set to cut the hills from green cardstock, and did some ink blending on the tops of those using Pearfection ink. Before adhering those to the card base, I did some blue ink blending to create a sky using Cadette ink. The flowers were adhered using glue, while the raccoon was adhered using foam tape. The sentiment was gold foiled onto black cardstock and adhered with liquid glue as well. To finish up, I added a few gold metallic pearls to some of the flower centers to tie in the gold sentiment.

This is my friend, Gimpy. She got this name because when she was much younger, she had a hurt foot for quite a while, and the name Gimpy just stuck. It’s silly, I know! She’s a very sweet girl, and I enjoy her visits!
