I began this project by embossing a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and coloring the trees and stream using Copic markers. I added some Diamond Dust to the falling snowflakes as well as the trees for added interest. The sentiment strips were added using foam tape for a little bit of dimension. The embossed panel was adhered to a Fern colored panel before being adhered to the card base to finish up.

A simple project for today! Don’t forget to check out the entire And Everything Nice release over on Simon’s website. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Blossom Bursts

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Thanks for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Blossom Bursts Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. Let’s go ahead and run through the details for this one.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by embossing the folder onto a panel of watercolor paper. To add color to the flowers, I used Bubblegum, Carnation, Cantaloupe, Honey, Sunbeam, Surf, Mocha and Ocean ink. I began with one color and smooshed some ink onto my glass mat and painted it on using a detail water brush.

Once done with the painting, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink onto black cardstock and heat setting it with Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out using the coordinating die, along with two extra cuts, and adhered all of those pieces together.

The trimmed panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape, while the sentiment was adhered using foam strips. I also added a few Dazzling Gems to finish up.

That does it for this one. I hope you enjoyed it! This was just an easy way to stretch your ink pads and use them for more than just stamping or ink blending. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Here For You

Hello Friends and thanks for stopping by! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Contemporary Lighthouse Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release, Friend Like You. Let’s go ahead and run through the details for this one.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began by embossing the folder onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock. I then began coloring the image using Copic Markers C1, C3, C4, C6, C7, E23 and Y17. When I was satisfied with the coloring, I did some ink blending using Sunbeam, Sky and Night inks, being very careful not to mix the yellow and blue because I didn’t want to end up with green.

Before working on the sentiment, I splattered the panel with some white acrylic ink to mimic stars. The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set using Detail White Embossing Powder. That was trimmed out three times for a stacked sentiment.

I adhered the panel to the card base using foam tape and glued the sentiment in place to finish up.

That does it for this one. I’m not very good at coloring embossing folders, but I gave it a try anyway. Is it perfect? No. But, I’m happy with the outcome. Thanks again for stopping by. I do truly appreciate it, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Bird Branches

Hello Friends! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the new Bold Bird Branches Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release Moments In Time. Let’s go ahead and get into the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by embossing the folder onto a panel of Fern cardstock and rubbing Kale ink over the raised portions of the panel. That left the leaves, flowers and birds the original color. I then took a scrap of Neenah 110lb cardstock and used the included die cut to cut the birds, and then run them through with the folder to get the texture.

The birds were ink blended using Seafoam, Surf and Heather inks. I decided that the flowers on the panel needed some color, so I colored those using Salvaged Patina Distress Paint and a paintbrush. I adhered a black jewel for the eyes on the birds and secured them to the panel using foam strips.

The sentiment is from the new I See You EZ Strips set that I gold foiled and trimmed down. This was adhered with foam strips as well and I added some gold gems to the centers of the flowers to finish up.

Another simple project for today. I really like the look of this technique of adding color to the raised portions of an embossed panel. Have you tried it yet? Don’t forget to stop by and check out the entire Moments In Time release. Thanks again for stopping in, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Stacked Blooms

Hey there, Friends! Thanks for joining me! Today’s project is featuring the new Stacked Blooms Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release, Rain or Shine. This was a super quick card, so let’s get to the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by embossing a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock with the embossing folder and did some random ink blending on the debossed side of the panel using Carnation, Sunbeam, Surf and Cadette inks.

Once the ink blending was complete, I used my black Rainbow Splash ink pad and rubbed that on the raised portions of the panel to give this black-out feel. The You Mean The World to Me sentiment was cut once from holographic cardstock and twice from black cardstock. The shadow portion was also cut twice, and all of those pieces were adhered together using liquid glue.

The panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape, while the sentiment was glued in place. I didn’t feel that this card needed any additional bling, which is weird for me!

That finishes up this project! Like I said, a super, simple one for today. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Spellbinders Black Alder Christmas

Hello Friends and thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Black Alder dies from the Spellbinders Winter’s Grace Garden Collection. This is a die set from Susan Tierney-Cockburn and it’s absolutely beautiful! She has a wonderful video over on the Spellbinders product page, so definitely check that out! Let’s go ahead and go through the details for my card!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began my card by doing all of my die cutting using green and red cardstock. Once that was done, I did some ink blending on the leaves using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Kale, and used Copic Marker E79 to color the stems. The Black Alder leaves are shiny, so I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops and painted the leaves to give them a shiny effect.

If you know me, you know that I love using jewels as berries, and that’s exactly what I did here! Yay for red jewels! In Susan’s video, she uses small foam balls that she colored, but I didn’t have any of those, so I used what was on hand! My background was created using the Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder with a bit of gold splatter for added interest.

I adhered the panel to a card base and began adhering my leaves using liquid glue. I then adhered the berries in place and went to work on the sentiment, which is from the Mistletoe Greetings BetterPress set. I gold foiled the sentiment and trimmed it out using the included die, and I went ahead and also cut a gold banner and glued those together.

My sentiment was adhered to the panel with foam strips for some added dimension. I’m pretty pleased with how this card turned out! I love the glossy leaves, which is something that you don’t see too often.

That does it for this post! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space! Head on over to Spellbinders to check out all of the new September releases, you won’t be disappointed! Thanks again for joining me, and have a fabulous day!

Spellbinders Lush Birthday

Hello! Hello! Thanks so much for joining me for today’s project featuring the new Lush Leaves 3D Embossing Folder from Spellbinders. For my first go with this folder, I had to pair it with the traditional green just to get a feel for it. Let’s run through the deets for this one!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by using the Lush Leaves folder to emboss a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock. I then did some ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Aspen, Sage and Pine on the de-bossed side of the panel. Once satisfied with the ink blending, I used the Encore Gold ink pad to rub over the raised portions. I thought the green and gold were a nice pair!

For the sentiment, I used the Spellbinders You Are Everything Sentiments set and gold foiled that onto black cardstock. I used the included die to trim it out, along with two additional cuts for that stacked sentiment that I love.

I felt the card was going to need some additional elements, so I used the Spellbinders Sealed Squiggles set and cut a few of those from gold cardstock. The embossed panel was adhered to a black panel for contrast, while the squiggles were adhered with liquid glue, and the sentiment was adhered with foam strips for added dimension.

That finishes up this project! A super simple project, but I really like the green and gold together. Head on over to the Spellbinder’s website to check out all of the new things for August, as there’s tons of fun stuff! Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders All Seasons Floral

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! The Spellbinders August release is live, and there’s some awesome stuff to peruse! Today’s card is featuring the new All Seasons Spring BetterPress Plate, and if you know me, you know that I’m going to pair it with florals! So, let’s run through the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

When I was thinking about this card, I wanted to do a monochromatic color scheme, so I went with black, white and grey. I love the look of white flowers with grey shading, so that’s what I set out to do! I used the Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms set and cut a bunch of the flowers from Neenah 110lb cardstock, and I cut the centers and foliage from black cardstock.

I used SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Earl to do the ink blending on the flowers, and when that was complete, I assembled the flowers using liquid glue. I created the background panel by using gravel cardstock and the Spellbinders Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, and splattered that with some black acrylic ink.

While the panel was drying, I inked up the All Seasons Spring Press Plate using the BetterPress Black ink onto a panel of Pebble BetterPress Cardstock. That was then cut using the included die. I did cut it a second time from Neenah 110 and adhered those pieces together for a stacked sentiment. This particular sentiment is a very long sentiment, and I didn’t like the way it looked on this particular card, so I ended up cutting it into two pieces so that it would fit better.

My embossed panel was then adhered to a black panel for contrast, and I began gluing in the bottom layers first, which included the smaller flowers and the foliage. I adhered the top flowers with foam strips, as well as the sentiment. I had a few leaves left over, so I secured those in place where needed. To finish up, I added a few clear drops.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I really love this color combo from time to time, as a change from the pastel flowers. Don’t forget to head over to the Spellbinders website to check out all of the fun, new August products! Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Birthday Blooms

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by ink blending a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Sunbeam, Seafoam and Lilac. Once the ink blending was complete, I put the panel in the folder and ran it through the machine.

For the sentiment, I used the new SSS You die cut and cut that once from black glossy cardstock and twice from regular black cardstock and adhered all the layers together using liquid glue. I stamped the happy birthday portion, which is from the new SSS You stamp set, onto a scrap of black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. The You portion was glued to the panel, while the birthday portion was adhered with SSS 3D Foam Strips.

The panel was then adhered to a black splattered card base with foam tape, for added dimension, to finish up.
