Simon Says Stamp You Are A Star

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for joining me for today’s project featuring the new You die and stamp set from Simon’s latest release, Cheering For You! This project is also featuring the new Starry Sky Foil Transfer Cards, so let’s run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by foiling the Starry Sky panel using silver foil and my Minc Mini. Once I was done foiling, I trimmed the panel down using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames. Next, I die cut the new SSS You once from silver cardstock and three times from black cardstock and adhered all of those pieces together using liquid glue.

The sub-sentiment, which is from the new You stamp set, was stamped onto a scrap of black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. Both sentiments were adhered to the foiled panel using SSS 3D Foam Strips for some added dimension.

I decided that the panel needed some black starts to tie everything together, so I used the SSS Mini Stars Party and cut a few of those and added to the panel using foam strip pieces. The panel was then adhered to the card base to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp You Are Amazing

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project! This project is featuring the new You die and You stamp set from Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You. Let’s go ahead and roll through the details!

I really like creating backgrounds with single dies, and Simon’s new You die was perfect for this technique! I began this project by die cutting the new SSS You a bunch of times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I also die cut the SSS Divine Peony and did some ink blending on that using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Morning and Galaxy.

Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the florals using liquid glue, and then decided that I wanted the leaves to be black, so I went back and cut those. To begin assembly, I cut a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles and splattered it using black acrylic ink. When that was dry, I began adhering the You die cut to cover the panel and trimming off the excess.

I adhered the leaves in place and then adhered the larger flower using SSS 3D Foam Strips for added dimension. The card was missing something, so I cut the You from black cardstock and adhered that using foam strips, and that brought things together, in my opinion. I then used the new SSS You Stamp set and stamped the sub-sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, heat set that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and adhered it with the same foam strips.

Once everything was complete, I adhered the panel to a black panel for contrast using SSS Dot Tape Runner, and then everything was adhered to the card base to finish up.

That does it for this card! I love creating my own backgrounds using die cuts, and I love creating beautiful flowers, so this card was right up my alley! I hope you enjoyed it! Simon Says Stamp Bright Starry Sky

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m back today with a card featuring the new Starry Sky Foil Transfer Cards from Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You. Have you checked out the new release yet? I would love to know your favorites! Let go through the deets for this one, shall we?

I began this card by foiling the Starry Sky panel using pink foil and the Minc Mini. Once the foiling was done, I trimmed it down using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frame and adhered it to a black panel.

I used the SSS You Brighten My Day for the sentiment and cut that once from SSS Color Blend Cardstock and twice from black cardstock. I also cut the shadow portion twice and adhered all of the pieces together using liquid glue for a stacked sentiment.

The panel was adhered to the card base and the sentiment was adhered using SSS 3D Foam Strips for added dimension.

Simon Says Stamp Faithful Florals

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! Simon’s latest release, Cheering for You, is live, and I’m back today with a project featuring their new Acetate Card Base. This was my first time using an acetate card base, and I’ve got to say, I am in love! Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

I began this card by working on the florals using SSS Dreamy Daisy Layers, Etched Magnolia Blossom, Charming Daisy and the Etched Berry Branch. All of these were cut from colored cardstock and ink blended using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Carnation, Seafoam, Ocean and Pearfection. Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flower pieces using liquid glue.

For the white base, I used the Memory Box Circle Basics set and cut two circles from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I splattered one with gold ink and adhered the flowers to it, beginning with the leaves and then adding the flowers on top. I used SSS Surf Pawsitively Dazzling Gems to add to the “berry” portion of the leaves.

The sentiment is from the SSS Just Breathe set and I stamped that onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink, and heat set it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. That was trimmed out using the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment.

The sentiment was glued in place and the circle panel was adhered to the acetate using Scor-Tape. The second circle was adhered inside the card behind the front circle. This was done to ensure that you wouldn’t be able to see the adhesives.

Spellbinders Amazing Florals

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks so much for joining me for today’s project featuring the new Spellbinders Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. I look for any excuse to use the many, amazing flowers from Spellbinders, and today’s project gave me just that opportunity! Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

I began this project by embossing the Argyle Plaid onto a panel of black cardstock. I knew that I wanted a black and gold background with lots of flowers, so I then took gold ink and a brayer and rolled that over the raised portions of the panel. Yes, it messed up in one or two places, but I love the look just the same!

Next, I die cut a bunch of flowers and leaves from pink and green cardstock using the Spellbinders Club Blooms and the Spellbinders Sealed Leaf Sprigs. I also die cut some of the flower centers from black, gold and yellow cardstock as well. Once the cutting was done, I used SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Carnation, Honey and Pearfection and did some ink blending before assembling the flowers.

This super awesome sentiment is from the Spellbinders Making Me Smile Sentiments Hot Foil set, and I foiled that using gold foil onto black cardstock and trimmed it out with the included die. This is one of those sets that creates multiple sentiments at once, and that is a game changer! I did two extra cuts and adhered the three layers together using liquid glue for a stacked sentiment.

Now to assemble this masterpiece! I adhered the embossed panel to the card base and glued the leaves in place first, followed by the flowers. The two larger flowers, as well as the sentiment, were adhered using foam strips for a little added dimension. To finish up, I added some PFS Gold Metallic Pearls to tie everything together.

PinkFresh Pastel Joyful Leaves

Hello Friends, and welcome back! I appreciate you stopping by to check out today’s project featuring some new-ish products from PFS! Let’s not waste time and jump right into the details.

Main Products:

I began this project by foiling the PFS Joyful Day Press Plate using gold foil. Yes, you read that correctly! That’s the great thing about Press Plates .. They can be foiled, they can be inked and used as a press plate, and they can also be used to make an embossed impression if you so desire. No worries if you haven’t delved into the world of press plates, just use your Glimmer machine! I also foiled the PFS Decorative Frames using the same gold foil, along with the sentiment, which is from the PFS Script Sentiments Hot Foil Plate set. The frames were then cut using the coordinating die.

Moving on .. Since the machine was already hot, I used the PFS Solid Hot Foil Plate to go ahead and transfer the reverse image of the Joyful Day onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock, because I wanted to use that as well. Before using the coordinating die to trim the leaves out, I used the coordinating stencil to do some ink blending using PFS inks in Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose, Ocean Breeze and Turquoise.

The sentiment was cut two additional times and glued together for a stacked sentiment, which I really enjoy! Now that I have all of the pieces for the card, I started playing around with placement, and decided that I wanted a textured background inside the frame, so I used the PFS Dotted Chevron for that. I did some very light ink blending in the upper corner using the same Sparkling Rose ink, and I just trimmed it down to fit inside the frame without any of the edges showing.

I adhered the ink blended leaves atop the gold leaves with liquid glue and also glued the chevron panel behind the frame. The leaves were then glued in place, along with the sentiment, and the panel was secured to the card base with foam tape for some added dimension. To finish up, I added a few clear drops.

Simon Says Stamp Divine Peony

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m so glad that you stopped by! I’m back today with a card featuring some new products from Simon’s latest release, Sunny Vibes. Let’s get right into the details, shall we?

Main Products:

I began this project by die cutting the SSS Divine Peony three times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I cut it three times, but only used two of the larger flowers for this project. I did some light ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Carnation, Celery, Pearfection and Sunbeam. Once the ink blended was complete, I assembled the flowers and set those aside with the leaves, while I worked on the rest of the card.

I knew that I wanted a black on black background, so I stamped the SSS Orchid Rose Bouquet onto a panel of black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I also stamped the sentiment from the SSS Just Breathe set onto a scrap of black cardstock using the same ink, and heat set that using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating die to trim out the sentiment, along with two additional cuts, and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

I used two dies from the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames to cut a frame from black cardstock. The frame was adhered to the stamped panel using SSS 3D Foam Strips, and I trimmed off the excess around the edges. The leaves were glued in place, along with the buds, and the flowers were secured with the foam strips. The sentiment was also adhered with foam strips, and some clear drops were added to finish up. I didn’t want a white border showing from the card base, so I added a black panel, and then secured my floral panel atop that.

Simon Says Stamp This Blows

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! I’m back today with a fun project featuring the new Reverse Bad Day Good Vibes Sentiment Strips from Simon’s latest release, Sunny Vibes. This card might not be for everyone, but it totally cracks me up! Let’s run through the details!

Main Products:

I began this project by die cutting the SSS Oh Expletive once from SSS Black Glossy cardstock and twice from black cardstock. I also cut the shadow portion of the die twice from black and adhered all of those layers together using liquid glue.

Once the main sentiment was complete, I pulled a piece of patterned paper from the Tim Holtz Abandoned pad and used the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames to trim that down. I then rubbed Simon Mocha ink along the edges for a more distressed feel. Before adhering the panel to the card base with foam tape, I splattered it with Ranger Distress Mica Stain in Crooked Broomstick.

The main sentiment was adhered using SSS 3D Foam Strips for added dimension, and I added the sentiment strip just below using the same strips. This card was super simple, but it makes me laugh, and I love that! I thought this sentiment strip paired well with the main sentiment.

Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Leafy Cluster

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! I appreciate you stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Bad Day, Good Vibes stamp set, from Simon’s latest release, Sunny Vibes. I’m pairing it with the Friendship Leafy Cluster product suite, which is a favorite of mine. Let’s go ahead and get to the details!

Main Products:

I began this project by stamping the leaves from the SSS Friendship Leafy Cluster set onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFiny Onyx Black ink and heat setting it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I did stamp several leaves, because I really wasn’t sure where this card was going. Once the stamping was done, I used the coordinating stencil to add color using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Carnation, Lemonade and Citrine.

Once satisfied with the ink blending, I used the coordinating die to trim out the leaves. I did cut five more leaves from Neenah 80lb cardstock and adhered all of those together with the ink blended leaf with liquid glue for LOTS of dimension! Next, I took a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and foiled the SSS Mini Slimline Falling Dots Foil Plate. Unfortunately, I believe Simon must have discontinued this plate, because I was unable to locate it on their website. My apologies for that .. I will link to a similar product. I did have to foil the panel twice to cover the size of panel that I wanted. I then used the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames to trim it down.

I stamped this super cute sentiment from the new SSS Bad Day, Good Vibes set using the same Onyx black ink and the same embossing powder and used my Brother Scan n Cut to trim it out. I adhered the foil panel to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner, and the leaf was glued directly to the panel, while the sentiment was adhered using SSS 3D Foam Strips to match the thickness of the leaf.

That does it for this one! I love this leaf, and I love the colors along with the cute foiled dots! Like I said, this set is a definite favorite of mine. Floral Happy Thoughts

Hello Friend, and welcome back to my blog! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s project featuring the Fantasy Flowers from Alex Syberia Designs. I picked up this set while I was at CREATE, and couldn’t wait to make something with it! Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

Main Products:

I began this card by die cutting a bunch of flowers, leaves and a few stems using the Fantasy Flowers set from Neenah 110lb cardstock. Once those were cut, I did some ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Seafoam, Mist, Raindrop, Melon, Cantalope, Sherbet, Honey and Aspen. I did decide to go back and cut one of the center portions of the flowers from black cardstock, before adhering all of the pieces together using liquid glue.

The background panel is the PFS Sparking Diamonds, which was cut from Peacock cardstock, and the frame is the PFS Simply Diamonds. I thought these two paired well together, and added some nice texture and interest. The sentiment is from the SSS XL Greetings 2 set, and this is definitely one of my favorites! It was stamped on black cardstock and heat embossed using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. It was cut two additional times and adhered together for a stacked sentiment.

Once I began playing around with the placement of the flowers and leaves, I thought some black leaves would look pretty good, so I cut some of those using the Classic Foliage, also from Alex Syberia Designs. I glued the panels together, and then glued the leaves and orange flowers in place. The teal flowers were then adhered using SSS Foam Squares, and the sentiment was adhered using SSS 3D Foam Strips to finish up.
