Simon Says Stamp Lucky Flowers

Hello, and thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a card featuring the Lots of Luck stamp set from Simon’s latest release, Splendor. Let’s not delay, and get to the details!

This set is a layering stamp set, so I decided on some colors for the flowers and the grass before getting started. I began by stamping the first layer of the grass with SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Sprout, and the second layer with Field onto Neenah 110lb cardstock. As a note, you want to start out with your lightest color first. For the flowers, I used Bubblegum, Carnation, Sweets and Taffy. Once the stamping was completed, I used the coordinating dies to trim everything out.

I settled on the Just Because sentiment from this set, and stamped that using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat set that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I did repeat those steps to get a smoother finish on the sentiment, and then die cut that as well. For a stacked sentiment, I did two additional die cuts, and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

For the background, I used the SSS Detail Ringlet Plate and cut a panel of that, and I also used the SSS Stitched Rectangles to cut a frame. I did end up splattering the panel with some Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry Spray for some added interest. The frame is slightly smaller than an A2 card, so I trimmed down the Ringlet panel to fit behind the frame and glued those together. I played around with the placement of the flowers and grass and decided that I needed some additional leaves, so I used the SSS Etched Meadow Flower and Leaves set and cut two sets of the leaves. Those, of course, had to have some ink blending, so I used the same ink colors so that everything would match.

Now that I have all of the elements, it’s time to assemble the card. I tucked the grass inside the frame so that it overlapped the sides of the frame slightly, and glued just the bottom in place. I then glued the leaves in place, with those hanging over the frame as well. The flowers and sentiment were then glued in place and the entire panel was adhered to the card base with foam tape. To finish up, I added some clear drops for a little shine.

Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends, and thank you so much for stopping by! It’s always a pleasure to have you! I’m back today with another card featuring the new Topography Background Stamp from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Splendor. Let’s run through the details for this one.

I received The Color Cubes as a Christmas gift, and I put them to good use on this card! The really cool thing about The Color Cubes is that you also receive a download that gives you the corresponding Copic marker colors. Once I decided on a card from the cube, I went and found the Copics to guide me.

To begin the card, I stamped the SSS Topography Background stamp onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set it using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. The Copic markers that I used were RV06, YR04, Y18, G05 and B05. Once the coloring was completed, I used the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to trim it down.

I die cut the SSS Happy Birthday Brush Script once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue, along with three of the shadow die cuts as well. The sub-sentiment is from the new SSS Birthday Basics set, and I stamped that onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set it using the same embossing powder and trimmed it down to an appropriate size.

To assemble the card, I adhered the panel to a black panel using foam tape, and glued the main sentiment in place and added the sub-sentiment with SSS 3D Foam Strips. Everything was then adhered to the card base, and I added a few PFS Gold Metallic Pearls for a bit of shine.

Simon Says Stamp Just Because Flower Bunch

Hello Crafty Friends! I appreciate you stopping by! Today, I’m participating in an Instagram Hop to celebrate Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Splendor, so you’ll want to head on over there to comment along the hop for your chance to win a $25 gift card. Today’s project is featuring the new Beautiful Dove die, and I knew that I wanted to pair it with a bunch of flowers. So, let’s run through all the details for this one!

To begin, I went to work on all of the flowers. I die cut the flowers from Neenah 110lb cardstock using SSS Etched Magnolia Blossom, SSS Charming Daisy, SSS Layered Dandy Flower and SSS Cosmos Stem. All florals need leaves, so I used the SSS Etched Berry Branch for those. Once everything was cut, I got started on all of the ink blending.

For the ink blending, I used SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Bubblegum, Lilac, Lemonade, Sunbeam, Seafoam, Sprout and Field. I sat the florals and leaves aside, and die cut the SSS Beautiful Dove from Neenah 110lb cardstock and did some ink blending of that using Earl ink. Once all of the components for the card were assembled and complete, I got to work on the rest of the card.

I used the SSS Stitched Whirl Background and cut that from a panel Mixed Media paper. I then saturated the paper and added some light pink watercolor to it, and dried it with the heat tool. Once it was dry, I did place the panel under something heavy to flatten it out a bit. When I was ready to assemble, I did run it back through using the Whirl plate to get the die cut definition back. I’m not even going to lie, I putzed around with the placement of the flowers and leaves for WAY too long! Way too much over-thinking going on!

In all of the playing around with placement, I did trim off some of the leaves and “berry clusters,” and reserved those for adding back in later. I adhered the leaves first using liquid glue, and adhered some of the flowers with glue and some with foam strips. The dove was then adhered to the panel with foam strips as well. Next, I added back in the trimmed leaves and “berry clusters” where I had room to do so.

Because this card is so involved, and not a whole lot of space for a sentiment, I opted for a tiny sentiment. I used the BetterPress A Little Message Sentiments using BetterPress Black Ink and trimmed it out using the coordinating die. I did die cut it several times and adhered those layers together using liquid glue for a stacked look. The sentiment was then glued directly to the panel.

My panel was then adhered to the card base using foam tape. Lots of layers and dimension on this one, but I absolutely love dimension, so I’m good with that! For some bling, I added some PFS Iridescent Drops to the “berry clusters” to finish it up.

Simon Says Stamp Lucky to Know You

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! I’m still playing with goodies from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Splendor, and today I’m featuring a card using the new Fancy Lucky die, along with the Lucky Sentiment Strips. Let’s run through the details for this one!

To begin this card, I cut a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames and splattered it using the Grass colored Karin Marker. I just scribbled on a piece of plastic and spritzed it with water and used a paint brush to add the splatter.

I stamped the largest clover from the SSS Lots of Luck stamp set using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sprout and Fairway. This is a layered stamp set, so I stamped the first layer with the lightest ink, and the next layer with the darker ink. I then used the coordinating die to trim it out. I die cut an extra and adhered those together with liquid glue.

To add a little more detail to the clover, I added some green Tiny Hearts from Doodlebug Designs. Moving on to the sentiment, I die cut the SSS Fancy Lucky die from gold cardstock once and twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and glued all of those layers together. I also die cut the shadow twice, and adhered all of the pieces together for a stacked sentiment. Once that was complete, I settled on a sub-sentiment from the SSS Lucky Sentiment Strips and added a SSS 3D Foam Strip to the back of that.

To assemble the card, I adhered the splattered panel to the card base using foam tape and positioned the clover atop that and adhered with liquid glue. The Lucky sentiment was also adhered with Foam Strips and the sub-sentiment was nestled right underneath.

Simon Says Stamp Just Because Cosmos

Hello Friends, and thanks for joining me! The newest Simon release, Splendor, is live, and I’m back today with a card featuring the new Lots of Luck Stamp and Die set. Let’s not waste and time, and go through the details for this one!

I began this card by die cutting a bunch of petals from colored cardstock and a few centers from Neenah 110lb cardstock using the SSS Cosmo Flower Petals. Once those were cut, I did some ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sweets, Cantaloupe, Sunbeam, Surf, Marine and Lilac. While ink blending, I did concentrate more color towards the centers of the flowers for added depth and dimension. To assemble the flowers, I adhered the petals to the back of a die cut center using liquid glue, and then adhered the solid center behind that.

All floral cards need some type of leaves in my opinion, so I die cut a few leaves from gold cardstock using the SSS Privet Branch. I then used the SSS Stitched Rectangles to create a frame from Neenah 110lb cardstock as well.

The sentiment is from the new SSS Lots of Luck set and was stamped using VersaMark Ink and heat set using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating die to trim it out, along with two additional cuts and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

Let’s assemble this card! First thing’s first, the card base needed some gold splatter! Once that was dry, I adhered the frame using SSS 3D Foam Strips. I positioned the flowers atop the card, secured the leaves with glue, and then secured the flowers with foam tape. The sentiment was then adhered with the foam strips. I felt this card had enough going on and did not add any additional bling.

Simon Says Stamp Lucky Mosaic Tulips

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back to my blog! I’m so glad that you stopped by! Simon’s latest release, Splendor, is live and I’m featuring a card today using the new Mosaic Tulips Stencil, along with the Fancy Lucky die and the Lucky Sentiment Strips. Let’s get to the details!

I began this project by pulling a card from my Color Cubes to get some inspiration. Once decided, I taped down the stencil and a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and began ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Heather and Morning. The third color that I used is C&9th Aqua Sky. This is a three-stencil set, and I used one color for each stencil. For the tulips, I did go back through and use a heavier hand for the centers of the tulips for a little shading dimension.

Once the ink blending was complete, I trimmed it down using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles. I die cut the SSS Fancy Lucky Die once from SSS Matte Silver cardstock and three times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I also cut the shadow twice and adhered all of those together using liquid glue. I also selected a sub-sentiment from the new SSS Lucky Sentiment Strips.

To assemble the card, I adhered the Lucky sentiment and the sub-sentiment using SSS 3D Foam Strips. The panel was then adhered to the card base using foam tape. Yes, this card has lots of dimension, but I love dimension! To finish up, I added a few silver pearls for added interest.

Simon Says Stamp Lucky to Have a Friend Like You

Hello Friends, and welcome back! I appreciate you stopping by to check out today’s project featuring a stamp set from Simon Says Stamps’s latest release, Splendor. Have you checked it out yet? I’d love to know your favorites! This project has a sentiment from the Lots of Luck Stamp Set. This set also includes some florals and clovers, but I’m just using a sentiment today. Let’s run through the details.

Lots of stamp sets include florals and such with the sentiments, and this is just a reminder that you can combine components from a set with other things and products, like I did with this card. This is a very simple card, but I love how it turned out! I began this card by cutting a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge dies, and splattering it with some gold acrylic ink. I set that aside to dry while I worked on the other elements of the card.

I bought these dried florals at a “big box” craft store, and trimmed them down so that they would fit onto an A2 card panel. These particular flowers are more neutral in color, as you can tell, but I did purchase some more colorful varieties from Amazon that I’ll be using for future projects. I’ll link to those below.

Moving on, I stamped this sentiment from the SSS Lots of Luck stamp set using VersaMark Ink and heat set that using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder, and trimmed it out with the coordinating die. I did trim it two more times and adhered all of those layers together using liquid glue for a stacked sentiment.

To make the seal, I used gold wax beads and the Spellbinders Wax Seal Kit. I did not use the wax seal stamp included in the system, but one that I had purchased separately. I positioned the dried flowers on my card panel and then poured the melted wax on top and placed the handle on top of that. I then adhered the sentiment atop the wax using SSS 3D Foam Strips, and the panel was then adhered to the card base using foam tape. To add a little bit more interest, I added some cream colored Tiny Hearts.

That finishes up this one. Like I said, this is a super simple card, but pretty and unique, all at the same time. While I had the wax system out, I went ahead and made several panels that are ready to go when needed. I hope you enjoyed this card, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space. BetterPress Magnolia Florals

Hello Friend! I’m so glad that you stopped by! Today, I’m sharing a card using various products, including the BetterPress Letterpress System. I’ve had my BetterPress system for quite a while, but haven’t used it too much until recently. Not too long ago, I posted a black and white card design for Simon Says Stamp, and I really loved it and wanted to try another black and white design. So, let’s run through the details of this one.

To begin, I used the SSS Etched Magnolia Blossom to cut two flowers from Neenah 110lb cardstock, and I cut a few leaves using the SSS Windswept Leaves from the same cardstock. I then did some very light ink blending on the flowers using C&9th Dove ink. I did go back and cut the centers of the flowers using black cardstock, because I liked the contrast. Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers using liquid glue.

For the background, I used the Spellbinders So Grateful For You Press Plate, black ink and a BetterPress A2 card panel. I inked up the plate and ran it through the die cutting machine to make the impression. I did end up trimming the panel down ever so slightly and mounted that onto a black cardstock panel.

I thought the panel needed a frame, so I used the PFS Folk Edge Rectangles and cut one of those from black cardstock and glued it to the background panel. Moving on to the sentiment, I used the SSS XL Love Greetings and stamped on black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I then used the coordinating die to trim that out, along with two additional cuts for a stacked sentiment.

Let’s assemble this card! I adhered the sentiment in the center of the panel using liquid glue, and arranged the leaves adhering those with glue as well. The flowers were then adhered atop the leaves using foam tape for a little added dimension. Everything was then adhered to the card base using dot tape runner. To finish up, I added some clear drops for additional interest.

That finishes up this one! Like I said, I’ve had my BetterPress for a while now, but am just starting to use it. Mainly because I ordered some sentiments for it, and have really been enjoying those. Simon Says Stamp Black on Black Love

Hello Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a card featuring the new Hugs & Kisses die from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Sweetheart. If you’ve been here a few times, you probably know that I like creating backgrounds from sentiment dies. Yes, it’s a little bit of work, but I always love the result that it yields! Today’s card is a black on black design, so let’s get started!

I began by cutting the SSS Hugs & Kisses die a bunch of times from SSS Black Glossy cardstock. It looks like I used six for this panel. Once all of those were done, I cut a panel of black cardstock just smaller than an A2 card front, arranged the die cuts so that the entire panel was covered, adhered them using liquid glue, and trimmed off the excess.

For the focal point of the card, I used elements from the SSS Noted Heart stamp and die set. I stamped the heart onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and used the coordinating die to trim it out. I then did some light ink blending on the heart using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Bubblegum. I stamped the main sentiment on black cardstock using VersaMark Ink, heat embossed it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder, and trimmed it using the coordinating die.

I took the pink heart back to the Misti and stamped “everything” using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I also decided to use the heart dies in the set to cut a few from the black glossy cardstock as well. To assemble the card, I adhered the heart atop the sentiment panel using foam tape. The black sentiment was also adhered using foam tape, while the black hearts were glued directly to the cardstock. Everything was then adhered to a black card base.

Simon Says Stamp Friendship Leaves

Hello Fellow Crafter, and thank you so much for swinging by! I’m back today with a card featuring the new Friendship Leafy Cluster from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Sweetheart. This really is becoming one of my favorite sets! I love the fact that it’s a product suite that includes a stamp, stencil and die! Let’s run through the details for this one, shall we?

I received The Color Cube bundle for Christmas from my bestie, and this passed Saturday, she and I went through them together and ooohed and awed at each card. This inspired me to pull out a card from the bundle and do some ink blending using the SSS Friendship Leafy Cluster. To begin, I stamped the leaf clusters twice on a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set them using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.

I took the card from The Color Cube over to my inks and tried to match them the best that I could. The inks that I chose were, SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Cabbage and Sherbet, along with PFS Atlantis and C&9th Harbor and Powder. I taped the stencil to my stamped panel and began ink blending using the various inks in a random pattern. This is a set of two stencils, so I just made my way through each stencil, and each leaf. Once the ink blending was complete, I used the coordinating die to trim the clusters out.

For the background, I die cut the SSS Whirl Diamond Plate from a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and adhered it to the card base using liquid glue. For the sentiment, I used this one, which is from the PFS Favorite Things Sentiments Press Plate set. I inked it up using the BetterPress Black Ink and a BetterPress A2 Card Panel and ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum 6 to make the impression. I then used the coordinating die to trim it out. I cut the sentiment two more times and adhered all of them together using liquid glue for a stacked sentiment.

I decided on the placement of the sentiment and adhered that atop the card using SSS Foam Tape, and then determined the placement of the leaves. Those were then adhered using liquid glue, and the excess was trimmed off. To finish off the card, I added a few PFS Ice Clear Drops for a little bit of shine.
