Birthday Checking In

Hello Crafty Friends and thanks for stopping by! STAMPtember has arrived! Are you excited? Have you checked out the release yet? What are your favorites? I would love to know in the comments! I’m here today with a card featuring the brand new Checking In stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. So, let’s go through the details, shall we?

I began by stamping the floral image from the SSS Checking In set onto a panel of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock in the corners using VersaMark Ink and heat setting that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. Once the stamping was done, I used the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to trim the panel down.

To add color to the flowers, I used a white colored pencil, as well as a graphite pencil and a blending stump. After the coloring was completed, I splattered the panel using White Acrylic Ink.

For the sentiment, I opted for the SSS Happy Birthday Brush Script and cut that three times from black cardstock, adhering them all together using liquid glue. I then adhered the sentiment to my panel between the florals and added some pearls for a little added interest.

To finish up, the stamped panel was adhered to a black panel for contact using foam tape, and that was then adhered to the card base.

Super simple card, but I like the monochromatic tone of the finished project. I hope you enjoyed it as well. Let Your Dreams Blossom

Hello Crafters and welcome back! There’s a super fun Instagram hop going on featuring some of the new products from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Just a Note. Be sure to head over there to check it out and comment along the way for your chance to win a $25 gift card from Simon. Who doesn’t love gift cards, right?! My project for today is featuring the new Plant Sentiments stamp set, so let’s run through the details, shall we?

To begin this card, I stamped some florals from the SSS Best Friend Ever set onto some Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaMark Ink. I then heat set that using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. Once those were stamped, I used the coordinating die to trim them out and added color using Copic Markers R30, RV00, RV91, YG05, YG13, and YG63.

I used the Let Your Dream Blossom sentiment from the SSS Plant Sentiments set and stamped that on black cardstock using VersaMark Ink, and embossed that using the same gold embossing powder. Once that was done, I did end up fussy cutting the sentiment out. I used the SSS Detail Petal Plate to cut the background and did some very light ink blending on the corners using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Celery.

I played around with the placement and decided that I needed some leaves, which happens quite a bit for me! I used the SSS Windswept Leaves and cut a couple of those. To assemble the card, I adhered the leaves using liquid glue and adhered the florals using foam tape for added dimension. For portions that I cut off, I added some of those around the edges as well.

The sentiment was also adhered using foam tape before adhering the entire panel to a black panel. I like using black panels for the contrast that it provides. Everything was adhered to the card base, and I added some clear drops for a little added bling.

Melon Birthday Bouquet

Hello Friends and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project. Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Just a Note, is live and I’m featuring a card using the new Summer Bouquet Stencil. So, let’s run through the deets, shall we?

To begin, I taped the stencil to a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and added ink using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Melon, Sherbet, Celery and Limelicious. I concentrated color towards the centers of the flowers and at the base of the leaves. I rotated the stencil around to fill the panel before trimming it down using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles.

I chose the SSS Happy Birthday Brush Script for my sentiment, and die cut that once from gold cardstock and twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue. The sentiment was then adhered towards the bottom of the panel.

Before assembling the card, I splattered my card base using some gold acrylic ink. Once that was dry, I adhered the panel using foam tape for a little added dimension. To finish up, I added some PFS Gold Pearls for that much needed bling.

Full Bloom Sunrise Stem

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks for stopping by. Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Just a Note, is live, and I’m back today with a card featuring the new Plant Sentiments stamp set. Since I gravitate towards flowers, I was super happy to receive a sentiment set that would coordinate. So, let’s run through the details for this one.

I began this card by die cutting three of the SSS Sunrise Stem flowers from Neenah 110lb cardstock. To add color to the flowers, I did some ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Celery, Limelicious, Lemonade, Sunbeam and Lilac.

Once the flowers had some color, I cut a background using the SSS Stitched Whirl Background and set that aside while I worked on the sentiment. I selected a sentiment from the SSS Plant Sentiments set, and stamped that onto some black cardstock using VersaMark Ink. I then heat set it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder and hand trimmed it out.

I assembled the flowers using liquid glue and then arranged them atop the background and adhered those to the panel. I then figured out the placement for the sentiment and adhered that using foam tape for a little added dimension. The panel was then adhered to a black panel for contrast before being adhered to the card base. I also added a few clear drops for added interest.

Sending My Love Icon

Hello and welcome back! So glad that you could stop by today to check out another card featuring the new SSS Happy Icons stamp set, which is from their latest release, Out of This World. Let’s run through the details, shall we?

To begin, I stamped one of the stamps from the SSS Happy Icons stamp set onto a scrap of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I repeated that process for a second time to get a smoother finish on the embossing. Once done, I used scissors to trim the image down to actual size.

I pulled out the SSS Friendship Text Background stamp and stamped that onto a panel using PFS Misty Coast ink and trimmed it down using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames. I foiled this sentiment from Spellbinders Yana’s Sentiments using silver foil onto black cardstock and trimmed it out using the included coordinating die. I cut it an additional two times and glued all of those together for added dimension.

Before assembling the card, I splattered the card base using acrylic ink. The text background was adhered and the Happy Icon was adhered atop that using foam tape, and the sentiment was glued in place.

Slimline Rainbow Sunflowers

Hello Fellow Crafters, and thanks for swinging by! I hope you’re doing well and having a wonderful day! Today I’m participating in a super fun Instagram Hop to celebrate Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Out of This World, so be sure to head over there to check it out! Leave comments along the hop for your chance to win a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp! Who doesn’t love gift cards?!? Today’s project is once again featuring the new Bountiful Sunflower Blossom. I really have had loads of fun playing with this die! So let’s go through the deets for this one!

I had the idea of lining up sunflowers on a card, and in my brain, the sunflowers were smaller and I could get more on a card front, but that’s the problem with ideas. Sometimes they don’t work out as we had anticipated. But nonetheless, I like how this card turned out. To begin, I cut the SSS Bountiful Sunflower Blossom six times from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I had to cut it six times, because I used two rows of petals instead of just the one that it cuts.

I had to do the ink blending on each piece separately so as to get each petal covered, so I lined up the pieces for the flower up and proceeded to ink blend those. The colors that I used were the SSS Pawsitively Saturated inks in Bubblegum, Lemonade, Seafoam and Lilac. This seems to be my go-to set for rainbow ink blending. Once the flowers were done, I adhered the pieces together using liquid glue.

For the background of the card, I used the SSS Slimline Marquee die to trim a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and splattered it using acrylic ink. I set that aside to dry and worked on the sentiment. I die cut the hello sentiment, from SSS Handlettered Greetings, once from SSS Holographic Cardstock and once from black cardstock, and adhered those together off center just the slightest.

To assemble the card, I layered the splattered panel onto a black panel for contrast and glued the two side sunflowers directly to the panel, while adhering the center flower with some foam tape. I then glued the sentiment to the center of the middle flower, leaving the ends of the sentiment free floating, if you will. I added some clear drops before adhering everything to the card base.

That does it for this one! I never make slimline cards, but I end up liking them when I do! Anyhoo, I hope you like it too, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space. So Appreciate You

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks for stopping by! Today’s project is featuring the new Pawsitively Saturated Ink Cubes in Yellow Sunsets, from Simon Says Stamps’s latest release, Out of This World. Have you checked it out yet? What are your favorites? I would love to know what they are. Let’s run through the details for today’s project!

I began with a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and swiped the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink Cubes, from the Yellow Sunsets, across the panel. The colors that I used were Lemonade, Sunbeam, Citrine, Melon and Cantaloupe. Once that was done, I used the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames to trim it down. I used a larger frame to trim a panel of black cardstock as well.

The black and yellow was really speaking to me, so I used the SSS Etched Crocus Stems and cut some of those from black cardstock. I used a white gel pen to add some detail to the flowers before adhering them to the yellow panel with liquid glue. I used a sentiment from the SSS Reverse Gratitude Sentiment Strips and used foam tape to adhere that.

The yellow panel was then adhered to the black panel before being adhered to the card base. To finish up, I added some clear drops for a little bit of added interest.

Super simple project today, but simple cards are sometimes all that you need, or all that you feel like making for that day. Not every card has to be an elaborate undertaking to create. Simple Sunflower Blossom

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! I’m so glad that you stopped by! I’m back today with a card featuring the brand new Bountiful Sunflower Blossom, from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release Out of This World. I can’t even express how much I love this die! Flowers and sentiment dies are my jam, so I was thrilled to receive this sunflower die! Let’s run through the details for this project, shall we?

I had a lot of ideas going on when making this card, and it originally was going a different direction when I decided that I liked the white on white texture of this one. I began by cutting the SSS Bountiful Sunflower Blossom five times from Neenah 110lb cardstock and assembling those together using liquid glue.

I played around with the placement of the flowers on the card front, trying to cover as much surface area as possible. Once trimmed, I filled in with the remaining pieces and petals. I decided that a white on white theme was quite calming, so I opted for a more suitable sentiment.

The SSS Prayers die seemed a suitable fit for this card. I tried a white sentiment, but ultimately decided on using Polished Gold cardstock. I cut the shadow portion of the die three times and the sentiment portion once and adhered all of those together before gluing to the card.

To finish up, I added some clear drops for a little added interest. That finishes up this card. Super simple, but I like the way it turned out. Strawberry Fields

Hello Friends and thanks so much for stopping by! I’m back today with a card featuring the new Strawberry Fields Embossing Folder from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Out of This World. I had a fun time working on this one, although it took me the better part of a day. That’s just me though, it takes me forever to color anything! Anyhoo, let’s roll through the details of this one.

I began by trimming a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock and misting it with a bit of water before running it through the die cutter. Once the image was embossed, I sat down and got to coloring! The Copic Markers used were R27, R35, R37, R39, RV14, B0000, Y18, N1, C2, BG96, YG99, G21, G24, G85 and G94. If you don’t have a Copic Hex Chart, I highly recommend it. It’s super nice to be able to glance at the chart and know which colors will work nicely together.

Once all of the coloring was complete, I used a Copic Multiliner 0.03 to add some detail for the strawberry seeds. I then trimmed the panel down just a smidge and adhered it to a black panel for a little bit of contrast.

For the sentiment, I opted to use the SSS Thanks die. I cut the shadow three times and the sentiment once from Polished Gold cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue. That was then placed in the center of the panel.

I adhered everything to the card base and added a few clear drops to complete this project.

Beautiful Icon

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back to my blog! I’m so glad that you stopped by to check out today’s card featuring the new Happy Icons stamp set from Simon Says Stamp’s latest release, Out of This World. So, let’s get right to it, and talk about the deets!

To begin, I selected one of the stamps from the SSS Happy Icons stamp set and stamped it on a scrap of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Once I got a good impression, I heat set it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I repeated that process a second time for a smoother finish on the embossing.

Once the embossing was done, I used some scissors to trim the image down to its actual size. I then used the SSS Pride Flags to cut strips of rainbow cardstock. Those were then adhered to a scrap of cardstock and trimmed down as well.

I used the SSS Beautiful die and cut that three times from black cardstock and glued all of those together. I stamped the “you are,” which is from the SSS Tiny Words stamp set, on black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder.

Before assembling the card, I splattered the card base using black acrylic ink. The flag was glued to the card base, while the icon and sub-sentiment were adhered using foam tape for added dimension. The beautiful sentiment was glued atop the card to finish it up.
