Simon Says Stamp Hip Hip Hooray

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! The latest release from Simon Says Stamp, Favorite Things, is live and I’m back today with a project featuring the new Hip Hip Hooray set. Let’s go ahead and jump into the details, shall we?

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping some of the hippos using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting that with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then used Copic Markers C00, C1, C2, C3 and RV10 to add color to the hippos. I then fussy cut the images and went to work on the rest of the card.

The Postage Collage Cover was cut twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and adhered together for a little bit of a stacked look. That was then adhered to my card base using liquid glue, and I went ahead and die cut the flowers and leaves from the Hanging Leaf Ring set from Sage and Neenah cardstock. I did do some light ink blending on these pieces using Carnation and Sage inks as well.

Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers and added Bubblegum Dazzling Gems to the centers. The sentiment, which is from the Hip Hip Hooray set, was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat set using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. This was then cut into a strip with foam strips added to the back of it. The hippos were adhered using foam tape while the flowers and leaves were adhered with a combination of glue and foam squares. The sentiment was secured in place to finish up.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it! I don’t normally do cutesy cards, because I don’t feel that I’m very good at those types of cards, but this card makes me smile, so I’m counting that as a win! Don’t forget to check out the entire Favorite Things release over on Simon’s website! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have an amazing day!

Simon Says Stamp All My Love

Hello Friends, and thanks for joining me! There’s a super fun Instagram Hop going on today to celebrate the Simon Favorite Things release! Definitely check that out and comment along the hop for your chance to win a $25 gift card at each stop! Today’s project is featuring the new Parisian Frame and Pretty Bows, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping the Parisian Frame pieces using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I then did some light ink blending over the top using Bubblegum ink. I trimmed the frame down and adhered it to white foam and then trimmed the foam down. I also darkened up the stamped flowers with Copic Marker R85. At this point, I wasn’t sure where the card was going, so I went ahead and die cut some flowers and leaves using the Elegant Blossom Branch, Cosmos Duo and the Budding Branches.

While I was cutting, I went ahead and cut the centers of the flowers from black cardstock as well. I did some light ink blending on the pieces using Bubblegum, Carnation, Celery and Seafoam inks. I splattered the card base with black acrylic ink and cut a panel using the Scalloped Rectangles. The panel was adhered to the card base first and then the Parisian Frame was adhered atop that.

The leaves were adhered first, followed by the flowers. Bubblegum Dazzling Gems were then added, and I decided that one of the Pretty Bows would add a nice touch, so I cut that once from Neenah and once from gold and adhered those together. The bow was then added just underneath one of the flowers to finish up.

That does it for this one! I hope you’ll stop by and check out the entire Favorite Things release over on Simon’s website! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

The Birthday Wishes sentiment was cut once from Matte Silver Cardstock and twice from Neenah, the shadow portion was cut twice and all of those pieces were adhered together for that stacked sentiment look.

The embossed panel was added to the card base using foam tape, and the sentiment was glued directly to the panel. I added Surf Dazzling Gems to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Birthday Books

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! I’m back today with a project featuring the new One for the Books set from Simon’s latest release, Favorite Things. Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping the book using Bubblegum, Gravel and Sage inks. This is a layering stamp set, so I moved onto the black areas and used VersaFine Onyx Black ink for that and heat set it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. For the “pages” of the books, I used Misty Coast ink from PinkFresh Studio.

Once the stamping of the book was complete, I adhered them to fun foam and trimmed them down to size. I also added a small pink heart and Bubblegum Dazzling Gems to the top book. The background was created using the Friendship Text Background stamp with that same Misty Coast ink. That was then trimmed down using the Postage Stamp Edge Frames. Before adhering to the card base, I added some black splatter and then adhered the books atop that. Because the books had already been adhered to fun foam, there was no need for additional foam tape.

That finishes up this project! I hope you enjoyed it! Head on over to Simon’s website to check out the entire Favorite Things release and let me know your favorites. Thanks for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Simon Says Stamp Pastel Floral Hello

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Pretty Bows from Simon’s latest release, Favorite Things. Let’s run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by doing a bunch of die cutting! I used the Etched Crocus Stems to cut the flowers, the Budding Branches to cut the leaves, and the Double Plaid Cover for the background. All of that was cut from Neenah 110lb cardstock, while the Script Hello sentiment and one of the Pretty Bows were cut from gold cardstock. Now we all know that I like stacked sentiments, so that was cut an additional two times from Neenah and the bow was cut one additional time and all of those were adhered together using liquid glue.

Some light ink blending was added to the flowers and leaves using Bubblegum and Seafoam inks. Once done with the flowers, I assembled those and began the assembly of the card. The card base was splattered with gold before adding the Double Plaid Cover.

The leaves were secured with glue first, followed by the flowers. The bow and sentiment were added next, along with some Gold Metallic Pearls to bring all of the gold together.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Don’t forget to stop over at Simon’s website to check out the entire Favorite Things release! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Masculine Outline Hearts

Hello Friends and thanks for stopping by! Today’s project is featuring the Outline Hearts Stencil from one of Simon’s latest releases, To Love. This is a super simple project, so let’s get right to it!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by deciding on a color scheme using a card from The Color Cubes. Once that was decided, I pulled some inks that best matched and those ended up being Dew, Mist, Cabbage and Sage. I used a Copic Multiliner to add heart doodles before trimming it down using the Postage Stamp Edge Frames.

The Love Ya sentiment was cut once from Black Glossy cardstock and twice from black cardstock, while the shadow was cut twice from Neenah 110. All of those pieces were adhered together before adding them to the heart panel using foam strips. This was then added to the card base to finish up.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it! It was a quick and easy one, but I absolutely love this color scheme! Don’t forget to check out the To Love and To Be Loved release over on simon’s website. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Winter Wishes

Hey There! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the Tim Holtz Be of Good Cheer set! You can snag this set free with any $25 purchase of Tim Holtz products over on Simon’s website! Let’s go ahead and get into the details, shall we?

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the snowman from the set using color coordinating pieces of cardstock. Since I was going for a snowy card, I opted to use blues for mine. Once all the pieces were cut, I assembled the snowman and set that aside while I worked on the rest of the card.

I found a piece of snowflake patterned paper and thought that would work well, so I trimmed it down to size and splattered it with some black acrylic ink. I created a frame with black cardstock using the Postage Stamp Edge Frames and also cut a black square as a backdrop for the snowman. To add a little distress, I rubbed the edges with Ranger Picket Fence ink as well. The sentiment was created using blue cardstock and the TH Sizzix 661600. I was unable to locate this set on Simon’s website or even Tim’s website, so I’m assuming that it has been discontinued. My apologies about that, but any sentiment in your stash would work perfectly fine!

The black frame was adhered to the snowflake paper using foam strips, as was the sentiment strips and the smaller black center square. Because I like dimension so much, I went ahead and adhered the snowman with foam tape as well. One can never have too much dimension!

That does it for this one! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Have you snagged your Be of Good Cheer set yet?! If not, head on over to Simon’s website to do so before they’re gone! Thanks again for joining me today, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Simon Says Stamp Valentine Chocolates

Hello Friends and welcome back! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the Sweet Treats stamp and stencil combo. I kind of got on a short clean and simple kick this month, and today’s project falls right in line! Let’s get to the deets!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping the chocolate box from the Sweet Treats set onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting that with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then used the coordinating stencil to add the color using Gingerbread, Cocoa, Watermelon and Cherry inks.

Once the color was added, I trimmed out the box and added some pink and holographic hearts atop some of the chocolates for added interest. The background was created using the Postage Stamp Edge Frames along with a splatter from the Cherry ink pad. This was then adhered to the card base using foam tape, while the heart box was adhered using foam squares. To finish up, I glued the sentiment, which is from the Reverse Love Sentiment Strips, directly onto the heart.

That does it for this one! Again, a simple card, but it’s cute nonetheless. I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty in your space! Thanks again for hanging out with me, and I hope you have yourself a fabulous day!

Simon Says Stamp Sending You Love

Hello and welcome back! I’m so thrilled that you stopped by to hang out with me for a few minutes! Today’s project is featuring the new Pixie Dust Stamp set from Simon’s latest release To Be Loved. Let’s go ahead and get right into it!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping the floral image from this set twice onto a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting that with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then colored one of the images using Copic Markers in BG96, BG10, BG53, BG72, G94, YG63, Y08, Y18 and Y38.

When I stamped the floral image twice, I was not sure at this point what I was doing with the card. It was a, “I’m going to start and see what happens” kind of project! Once I finished coloring the one image, I cut it out, and decided that I would use the other stamped image as a background of sorts. I used the Postage Stamp Edge Frames to determine placement and went ahead and trimmed it down.

I then added some “black splatter” using a Copic Multiliner, because I wanted to control where the splatter landed. I adhered the colored portions of the flowers atop the panel using foam squares and then ran it back through the die cutting machine with the postage edge again so that both layers had the pattern.

This is a left over gold foiled sentiment that I had in my stash, which is from the Reverse Bad Day Good Vibes Sentiment Strip set, that I added with foam strips. The panel was added to the card base and along with some gold metallic pearls to finish up.

Another project in the books! I hope you enjoyed it! I used to enjoy using my Copic Markers a great deal, but have kind of gotten out of the habit, so it was nice to pick them up again for a relatively quick project. Don’t forget to check out the entire To Be Loved release over on Simon’s website! Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have an amazing day!

Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Tucked Hearts

Hello Crafty Friends! I hope you’re having a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Tucked Hearts stamp from Simon’s latest release, To Be Loved. Let’s go ahead and jump into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by pulling my inks, which were Bubblegum, Sunbeam, Seafoam and Lilac. I inked up the top portion of the stamp in the Misti and softened the edges of ink with a blending brush so that I didn’t have any harsh lines. I worked my way down the panel and through the colors until I was satisfied with the vibrance.

Once I was done stamping, I trimmed the panel down using the Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangles. That was then adhered to the card base, and I went to work on the remaining elements of the card. I die cut the Lined Love You once from gold cardstock and three times from black cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

I did offset the gold layer slightly so that you would be able to see the black shadow. The gold hearts are actually leftovers from the Clipping Heart that I had in my stash. The sentiment and the hearts were glued in place to finish up this project.

A super simple one for today, but those are good sometimes! We don’t always have lots of time to devote to a card, so easy peasy ones are a must from time to time. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your day! Stay awesome, Friend!
