Spellbinders Seasonal Wreath

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the Seasonal Wreath Foliage from Spellbinders and Suzanne Hue. It’s also featuring the new Linen 3D Embossing Folder, so let’s go ahead and run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the leaves a bunch of times from Waterfall cardstock, while also cutting the berries from Crimson cardstock. I did some ink blending on the leaves using Surf ink and then adhered the berries to the leaves.

The background was created using the new Linen 3D Embossing Folder and some gold splatter. The sentiment was cut once from gold cardstock and three times from Neenah, while the shadow portion was cut twice. All of those layers were adhered together for a stacked sentiment.

The background was adhered to the card base, and then I began adhering the leaves in place. Once those were all in place, I added the sentiment using foam strips for some added dimension.

Spellbinders Foliage Swag

Hello Friends, and thanks for joining me! Today’s project is featuring several new products from the Spellbinders August releases. I had a lot of fun creating this swag, so let’s go ahead and go through the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the Christmas Foliage from Crimson, Fern and gold cardstock. I will mention that this leaf was cut multiple times to achieve this full look. I did some ink blending Lush Forest and Brick inks. Once I was done with that, I assembled the flowers and white splattered the leaves and added “ice” using glue and clear glitter.

The background panel was created using the new Bow & Bell Scallop Frame along with some gold splatter. I cut the Merry sentiment once from gold cardstock and twice from Neenah 110lb cardstock and adhered all of those together for that stacked sentiment that we all love.

The panel was adhered to the card base, the leaves were glued in place, as were the flowers and the sentiment.

It was a lot of die cutting, but I’m quite happy with the end project. It’s hard for me to work on holiday cards this early in the year, but I didn’t mind this one, because I think it came out so pretty. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Falling Leaves

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Thanks for joining me to check out today’s project featuring the new Falling Leaves from Spellbinders and Kelly Bangs. This was a fun project, so let’s go ahead and run through the details.

I began this project by grabbing a panel of watercolor paper and some Simon inks. The colors that I chose to use were Guava, Honey, Pearfection and Clay. The process basically involved ink smooshing, using one color at a time. I smooshed the ink pad onto my glass mat and spritzed it with water, and laid the paper into the puddle. I repeated this process with each color, until I was satisfied and until my panel was covered. Once done with the inks, I dried the panel using the low setting on my heat tool.

I went ahead and die cut the leaves from the panel, die cut the stems from Peridot and Green Apple cardstock, and die cut the acorns from Desert Storm. I adhered the stems to some of the leaves and did some ink blending on the acorns using Gingerbread and Mocha inks. I assembled the acorns, added some detail with a brown colored pencil and set everything aside while I figured out the background.

The background was created using the Nested Postage Labels & Tag set, along with the Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder. I gold splattered the background, as well as some of the leaves to tie everything together. The sentiment was created using the new Documenting Labels set.

The background was adhered to the card base and then I began adhering to the leaves, tucking them in around the acorns. The acorns were adhered using foam tape, and the sentiment was secured with liquid glue to finish up.

That does it for this card. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I really love how these leaves turned out! I still have some of my ink smooshed panel left, so I might have to create another card! Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Hey Pupkin

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks for joining me! I’m back today with a cutie card featuring the new Pupkin from the Spellbinders August releases. Let’s jump right into the details!

I began this project by die cutting all of the pieces from various cardstock scraps. Once all of the cutting was done, I began assembling the pup. I should have done some light ink blending, but to be honest, I forgot and it was too late at the point that I remembered. Have you ever done that? I was too lazy to cut all of the pieces again.

The background panel was created using the Deckled Rectangles and the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser tool thingy. Once I was satisfied with the distressing of the edges, I took it over to my splat box and added some black splatter. The panel was adhered to the card base and the pup was adhered atop that with foam tape.

Now for the interesting part .. I don’t make Halloween cards, so I didn’t have a sentiment to use on this project. I also didn’t request one when the Pupkin was being sent to me. A little snafu on my part! With all of that being said, I had to whip out the label maker for the sentiment.

Spellbinders Merry Floral

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring several new products from the Spellbinders August releases. It’s hard for me to think about holiday cards in August, but I really enjoyed making this card, especially with all of the glitter and splatter. Let’s run through the details, shall we?

I began this project by die cutting the Christmas Foliage from Crimson, Poppy, Fern, Forest and gold cardstock. I did some ink blending on the flowers using Brick ink, and used Lush Forest ink on the greenery. Once I was done with the ink blending, I assembled the flowers, splattered white acrylic ink on all of the pieces and then added sparkly glitter using some glue that dries clear. I thought all of the pieces came out really pretty with the “icy” look.

I die cut the Bow & Bell Scallop Frame from Forest cardstock and white splattered that as well. I wondered if I had too much splatter, but then just decided to go with it! I also cut the Merry sentiment from Crimson three times and adhered all of those together for a stacked sentiment.

I secured the panel to the card base and then began adhering the leaves first, followed by the flowers. The sentiment was the last addition to finish up this project.

Spellbinders Thank You Botanical

Hello Friends, and thanks for joining me! Today’s project is featuring the Modern Botanicals from Spellbinders and Dina Wakely. This set includes several elements, but I opted to just use the leaf for my project. Let’s go ahead and go through the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by inking up the leaf on the BetterPress system using Celery and Seafoam inks. I did this twice and then used the coordinating die to trim those out. While I was inking, I went ahead and inked up the La Dolce Vita Sentiments using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I used clear embossing powder to heat set it. I wasn’t sure that this technique would work, but I went with it anyway. I used the coordinating die to trim that out as well. Before moving on, I added some color to the leaves using Copic Markers BG11 and BG32.

I then did some die cutting using the Vivid Blooms set from Neenah 110lb cardstock, as well as Waterfall, Teal Topaz, Beeswax and black. I did some light ink blending on the flowers before assembling them using the same Seafoam ink along with PFS Misty Coast ink. Before the assembly of the card, I cut a panel using the Nested Postage Labels & Tag and black splattered that.

The panel was secured to the card base, the leaves were glued in place, as was the smaller flowers, while the larger flower and the sentiment were adhered using foam tape. A few clear drops were added to finish up.

Spellbinders Thanks Citrus Spritz

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the Citrus Spritz dies from the Spellbinders June releases. Let’s go ahead and get into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the lemons from Beeswax cardstock, the flowers from Neenah 110lb and Blush cardstock and leaves from Peridot cardstock. I did some ink blending on this pieces using Carnation, Honey, Pearfection and Flannel inks.

Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers and set everything aside while I worked on the rest of the card. I die cut a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using the Nested Potage Labels & Tag and splattered that with gold ink. I also went ahead and die cut the Woven Lattice Texture from Neenah 110lb cardstock as well.

The postage layer was adhered to the card base and the lattice was glued into place. I began adhering the leaves and flowers in place first, along with the first lemon, and then adhered the last two lemons using foam strips. The sentiment was gold foiled onto black cardstock and adhered to the card using the same foam strips for a bit of added dimension.

Spellbinders Layered Poppies

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the Layered Wildflowers along with the Scallop & Stitched Edge Ovals from the Spellbinders May releases. Let’s go ahead and get into the details.

While this set has three different flowers, I opted to only use one of them. I began this project by die cutting the flower pieces from Poppy, Fern, Beeswax and black cardstock. I did some ink blending on the petals and centers using Cranberry and Honey inks. Once the ink blending was complete, I assembled the flowers and set them aside while I worked on the remaining elements.

I used the larger scallop oval to cut from black cardstock and used one of the stitched ovals to cut a smaller panel from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I used the Journal Grid to add texture to that white panel for some added interest, as well as some black splatter. I did go ahead and splatter the card base as well to tie everything together.

The sentiment was gold foiled onto black cardstock, and I added foam strips to the back of that. The stems were glued into place and the flowers were adhered with foam strips, as well as the sentiment for a bit of added dimension.

Spellbinders Birthday Field Notes

Hello Friends and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the Field Notes Wildflowers along with the Molded Frame 3D Embossing Folder from the Spellbinders April releases. I got a little behind from traveling and then being sick for a week, so I’m playing a little bit of catch up! Let’s go ahead and go through the details for this one.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by creating the background first using the Molded Frame Embossing Folder, trimming it down slightly and then adding some splatter. The next step was to cut the flowers pieces using Neenah 110lb cardstock and Fern cardstock.

I placed tiny pieces of foam tape on one of the floral pieces and then adhered the other piece atop that for a more dimensional look. This was then adhered to the stem and black gems were added to the centers of the flowers.

The black strip is part of the wildflower set, but it was smaller than I wanted, so I just cut two of them and trimmed off one end of both. The sentiment was created using the Ideal Moments Sentiments BetterPress Plate along with black BetterPress ink.

The panel was adhered to the card base, the floral was glued in place along with the black strip and the sentiment was adhered with foam strips to finish up.

Spellbinders Birthday Cosmos

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the new Cosmos, as well as the Journal Grid in a clean and simple design. These products are from the May releases, and you should definitely check them out! Let’s go right into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by cutting the Cosmos from Neenah 110lb cardstock and the pieces from pink and yellow cardstocks. I did some light ink blending on the petals using Peony ink, drew some veins with a pink colored pencil and assembled the flower with liquid glue. I wanted this flower on a stem so I used the Layered Wildflowers set and cut that from Green Apple cardstock with some ink blending with Pearfection ink.

The Journal Grid BetterPress Plate was inked using Misty Coast ink, trimmed down and gold splattered for some additional interest. I chose the light grey ink because I wanted a subtle background for this card.

I gold foiled the You Are Everything Plate onto Neenah 110lb and trimmed it out with the coordinating die, along with two additional cuts because I love that stacked sentiment look. The background was adhered to the card base and the leaves and flower were glued in place while the sentiment were adhered using foam strips.
