Simon Says Stamp Big Bus

Hello there, and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the new Big Bus from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. A perfect die cut for all of those back to school cards, and this one is a shaped card! Let’s go ahead and run through the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting all of the elements of the bus from coordinating cardstock colors, meaning the bus was cut from yellow, the tires were cut from black, the wheels and bumpers were cut from matte silver cardstock, etc. Once I was finished with the die cutting, I did some shading on the bus and windows using Honey and Morning inks.

When die cutting the bus itself, I folded the yellow cardstock in half and did a partial die cut to create the shaped card. I assembled the bus with all of the cut elements, and added this Reverse Back to School sentiment strip with foam tape to finish up.

This really was a simple project to complete, and I just love that the card itself is the bus! I hope you enjoyed it as well. Don’t forget to check out the entire Happy Camper release over on Simon’s website. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Simon Says Stamp Geometric Hello

Hello Crafty Friend and welcome back! Today’s project is featuring the new Mid Century Elemental Plate from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. I actually made several cards using this plate, but I think one is my favorite! Let’s run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by ink blending a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using Bubblegum, Sunbeam, Seafoam and Lilac inks. I then ran the panel and plate through the die cutting machine, trying to keep the pieces in tact as much as possible. I placed some Press n Seal on the front of the panel and placed small pieces of foam tape on the back of the pieces.

I then removed the negative frame piece and placed that, along with the card base in the corner of the Misti to help with placement. I removed the backing from the foam tape and adhered the pieces to the card base and once again removed the negative frame piece when I was done.

The sentiment was cut once from gold cardstock, twice from Neenah, while the shadow portion was cut twice. Those were all adhered together and glued to the front of the card to finish up.

That does it for this project. I love the soft blend that I was able to get on this project, and the gold sentiment went perfectly! Don’t forget to check out the entire Happy Camper release over on Simon’s website. Thanks again for joining me, and have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Fun With Friends

Hey There, and welcome back! I’ve done a couple of cutesy cards lately, and here is my second one featuring the Cute Campers set from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. Let’s go ahead and go through the deets!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping all of my elements using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting them with clear embossing powder. I then used way too many Copic Markers to color in all of my images! I’ll list those at the bottom of this post, to save space and time.

Once all of the coloring was complete, I fussy cut the images out. There are coordinating dies for this set to make things easier, but I didn’t have those. My background panel was created using a deckle edge die cut and some ink blending with Sky, Dusk, Night, Sunbeam and Black inks. I did add some white splatter on the panel to mimic stars for some added interest.

The tent, trees and camper element were adhered directly to the panel with liquid glue, because I wanted them to appear more in the background, while the critters, fire and sentiment were adhered with foam tape. The panel was then adhered to the card base to finish up.

That’s it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it! Cutesy cards really aren’t in my wheelhouse, but I really enjoyed creating this scene! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have an awesome day, friends!

Simon Says Stamp I Love You Dual Diamonds

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to my blog! I’m back today with a card featuring the new Dual Diamonds from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. This card is also featuring the new ilysm stamp and die set, so let’s go ahead and go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by ink blending a panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using Bubblegum, Sunbeam, Seafoam and Heather inks. I then ran the panel and die through the machine, being careful to keep the pieces in place. I went ahead and placed some Press n Seal to the front of the panel and added pieces of foam tape to the back of the diamonds.

I pulled the negative frame portion from the Press n Seal and placed that, along with my card base into the corner of the Misti. Once I removed the backing from the foam tape, I lined up the diamonds with the guide piece in the Misti. I could then carefully remove the negative frame piece, and all of my diamonds are perfectly lined up!

I die cut the ilysm sentiment once from black glossy cardstock and twice from black cardstock, while cutting the shadow portion twice from Neenah. All of those were adhered together and glued directly to the card. The sub sentiment was stamped using VersaMark ink, heat set with Detail White Embossing Powder, trimmed down and adhered with foam tape to finish up.

That does it for this project. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I do love a great ink blended panel! Don’t forget to check out the entire Happy Camper release over on Simon’s website. Thanks again for joining me, and have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Blossom Bursts

Hello Friends, and welcome back! Thanks for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Blossom Bursts Embossing Folder from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. Let’s go ahead and run through the details for this one.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by embossing the folder onto a panel of watercolor paper. To add color to the flowers, I used Bubblegum, Carnation, Cantaloupe, Honey, Sunbeam, Surf, Mocha and Ocean ink. I began with one color and smooshed some ink onto my glass mat and painted it on using a detail water brush.

Once done with the painting, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink onto black cardstock and heat setting it with Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out using the coordinating die, along with two extra cuts, and adhered all of those pieces together.

The trimmed panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape, while the sentiment was adhered using foam strips. I also added a few Dazzling Gems to finish up.

That does it for this one. I hope you enjoyed it! This was just an easy way to stretch your ink pads and use them for more than just stamping or ink blending. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Nesting Bird

Hello Friends, and thanks for joining me! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Fun Birdie from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. Let’s get right into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the bird pieces from Neenah 110lb cardstock and did some ink blending using Surf, Ocean, Mist, Heather and Black inks. Once done with the ink blending, I assembled the bird using liquid glue, adding a black gem for the eye.

Next, I cut the Rustic Nest from dark brown and Desert Storm cardstock, adhering the pieces together, tucking in the twigs on the side. The background panel was created by cutting it with a deckle edge die, smooshing some Seafoam ink onto my glass mat and using a paper towel inside a ziplock bag to tap the color onto the panel. This is a technique that Cathy Zielske uses, and it works really well!

I decided on the nest placement and stamped the sentiment directly on the panel using VersaFine Onyx Ink and heat set that using clear embossing powder. The nest was glued to the panel and the bird was glued inside the nest. The panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape to finish up.

That does it for this one! Head on over to Simon’s website to check out the entire Happy Camper release. Thanks again for joining me, and don’t forget to stay awesome, friend!

Simon Says Stamp You Grow, Girl!

Hello Friends and thanks for stopping by! I’m so glad that you joined me today for a project featuring the new Rooting For You set from Simon’s latest release, Happy Camper. It’s a quick one, so let’s run through the deets!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping one of the critters from the set onto Neenah 110lb cardstock using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting it with clear embossing powder. I used Copics C1, C3, C4, C5, C7, R81, R83, YG17, E23, E27, E37, YR16 and YR18 to color in the image. Once finished, I fussy cut the image out, because I did not have the coordinating dies.

My background was created using the Postage Stamp Edge Frames and the smooshing technique used by Cathy Zielske. I smooshed Bubblegum ink onto my glass mat, spritzed it with water, and then used a ziplock bag with a paper towel inside of it to smoosh it onto the ink and then onto the paper for an organic look. Once the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment using the same black ink.

The critter was adhered using foam tape and the panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape as well. I added pink glitter drop to the center of the flower to finish up.

That does it for this one. I hope you enjoyed it! I don’t always do clean and simple cards, but do enjoy them when I decide to do one. Thanks again for stopping by, and don’t forget to stay awesome!
