Simon Says Stamp Cool Birthday Penguins

Hey there and welcome back! Today’s post is featuring the new Cool Birthday stamp set from Simon’s latest Sugar & Spice release! I don’t often do clean and simple cards, but that’s what I was going for here. Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

I began this project by stamping the penguins from the new Cool Birthday stamp set using VersaFine Black Onyx ink and heat setting them using clear embossing powder. That’s my preferred method if I know that I’m going to be using Copic markers. Once those were stamped, I went ahead and colored them and fussy cut the images out.

While I was stamping, I went ahead and stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set that using Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it down and put foam tape on the back, along with the penguins.

I gave my card base a light splatter of black before adhering two of the Snowflake Swirl die cuts. The excess was trimmed off, and I adhered the penguins and sentiment to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Holiday Florals

Hello Friends and welcome back! There’s a super fun Instagram Hop happening today, so you’ll want to check that out and comment along the hop for your chance to win a $25 gift card. My project is featuring the new Holiday Duo paired with some florals, because we all know that I love florals! Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

I began this project by die cutting the Rustic Layering Flower and the flowers from the Fine Floral Stem from Neenah 110lb cardstock. I also die cut the Etched Berry Branch and the Arching Spruce Sprig from Green Apple, Fern and Forest cardstock colors. The ink blending on the flowers uses Brick, Bubblegum and Peony inks, while some of the leaves use Field ink.

Once I was done with all of the ink blending and assembling the flowers, I worked on the background, which was created using the Faceted Snowflakes Embossing Folder and the A2 Scalloped Rectangles. I die cut the joy sentiment once from Red Matte Metallic cardstock and twice from red cardstock, adhering all of those together for a stacked sentiment.

I adhered my background panel to the card base and began adhering the leaves in place first using liquid glue. The smaller flowers were glued in place, and the larger flowers were adhered with foam tape. The sentiment was added along with some red gems to finish up.
