Simon Says Stamp Groovy Birthday

Hello Friends, and welcome back to my blog! I’m still playing with goodies from the Beautiful Moments release, and today’s project is featuring the Groovy Daisies. I decided while I was stamping that I would go ahead and create two panels, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

Both panels were created the same, so I put my first panel in the Misti and added some Bubblegum ink to one corner, softening the ink line with a blending brush. I stamped that and moved on to the next color, softening each of the ink lines with a brush so that I didn’t have any of the harsh lines. The other colors that were used were Zest, Seafoam and Lilac.

I trimmed both panels down using the A2 Scalloped Rectangles and then went to work on the sentiments. Those were cut once with gold cardstock and twice from Neenah, as well as cutting the shadow portion twice. All of those layers were adhered together for a stacked sentiment.

The panels were adhered to the card base, the sentiments were adhered using foam strips, and some gold metallic pearls were added to a few of the flowers to finish up.

That does it for these projects! My ink blending is super light, and I think these would be gorgeous using some darker colors as well. I might have to give that a go sometime soon! Thanks for joining me, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Simon Says Stamp Amazing Scattered Leaves

Hello, Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring the new Scattered Leaves stencil from Simon’s latest release, Beautiful Moments. Have you checked out the release yet? I’d love to know your favorites! Let’s get through the deets for this project, shall we?

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by deciding on a color combo, which landed on Cabbage, Kale, Surf and Ocean. I used a Craft Tacky Mat to get my cardstock panel and first stencil situated. For the first stencil, I used the Cabbage and the Ocean inks, while using Kale for the second stencil. I trimmed the panel down using the new A2 Nested Stitched Rectangles and decided that I did not want this bright white panel. To remedy that, I did some light ink blending over the entire panel using the same Cabbage ink, mainly in the center, and using the Surf on the outer perimeter.

I die cut the You sentiment once from gold cardstock and twice from black cardstock, adhering all of those together for a stacked sentiment. The sub-sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set using white embossing powder. Before adhering the sentiments to the panel, I used a gold chrome marker to go over some of the veins of the leaves for some added interest. The panel was adhered to a black panel, both sentiments were adhered using foam strips and some gold metallic pearls were added to finish up.

That does it for this one! A pretty simple project for sure, but I love the addition of the gold on the leaves! Don’t forget to check out the entire Beautiful Moments release, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Friend Floral

Hello Friends and welcome back! There’s a super fun Instagram Hop happening today to celebrate Simon’s latest release, Beautiful Moments. Be sure to head over there to check out all of the inspiration from the team! Comment along the hop for your chance to win a $25 gift card! My project for today is featuring several new products including the Beautiful Friend die, the Country Basket Bouquet and the Nested Stitched Rectangles. Let’s go ahead and go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the flowers and leaves from the Country Basket Bouquet from various colors of cardstock from my stash. I then did some ink blending on those pieces before assembling the flowers. I’ll list the colors used at the bottom of this post for your convenience. The background was created using the Nested Stitched Rectangles and some gold splatter for a bit of added interest.

The sentiment was cut once from gold cardstock and twice from Neenah to create a stacked sentiment. As a side note, I opted not to use the shadow portion of this die. I measured out the center and secured the sentiment in place with liquid glue, and then began adhering the florals and leaves in place. The larger flower in either corner was cut twice with a foam square in between those layers for some added dimension.

The entire panel was adhered to the card base with foam tape to finish up. I hope you like this project as much as I do. We all know that I love working with florals! Don’t forget to head over to Instagram to catch the hop! Who doesn’t love a chance to win a gift card, especially if it’s for craft supplies! Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Basket Bunny

Hi Friend! Thanks for stopping by to check out my project featuring the new Basket Bunny from Simon’s latest release, Beautiful Moments. I actually used three new products on this card, so let’s go ahead and run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the bunny and assembling the pieces. I did want a little bit of shading, so I used Shark and Cocoa ink for that. I wanted some flowers in the basket and used the new Country Basket Bouquet for those. I die cut a few of the flowers and centers from pink and yellow cardstock and did some light ink blending on those with Guava ink before assembling them.

I wanted a muted background and stamped the floral from the Pixie Dust set onto a panel using Misty Coast ink. Once satisfied with that, I trimmed it out using the A2 Scalloped Rectangles.

The panel was adhered to the card base and the bunny, basket and sentiment were adhered with foam tape. The pink flowers were secured using liquid glue to finish up.

A clean design for today’s project! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you’re enjoying seeing all of the inspiration from the new Beautiful Moments release. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Blended Daisies

Hello Friends, and thanks for joining me! The Beautiful Moments release is live, and I’m back with a project featuring the new Groovy Daisies with a soft blend. Let’s go ahead and get into the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping the Groovy Daisies onto a panel using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing it using clear embossing powder. I knew that I wanted to double heat emboss, and when I do this, I stamp the second time with VersaMark ink and heat again using clear powder. I do this because, during the heating process, I find that the paper warps a tiny bit and if I stamp again in black, it can sometimes be slightly off. By stamping the second time with VersaMark, you don’t notice that.

I really love how the ink blending turned out using Bubblegum, Lilac, Marine and Seafoam inks. Once done with the ink blending, I trimmed the panel down using the new A2 Nested Stitched Rectangles, and mounted it onto a black panel for contrast. The sentiment was cut once from Matte Silver cardstock and twice from black cardstock, while the shadow portion was cut four times. All of those were adhered together using liquid glue for a stacked sentiment. I added some matte silver pearls to the some of the flowers to finish up.

That does it for this one! I hope you like it, and I hope you’ll stop by and check out the entire Beautiful Moments release! Thanks again for swinging by, and I hope you have an awesome day!
