Simon Says Stamp Peaceful Bird

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! We are celebrating the DieCember release with a super fun Instagram Hop, so be sure to check that out for your chance to win a gift card to the Simon’s website! Who doesn’t love winning gift cards, am I right?! Today’s project is featuring the new Flourish Bird in an icy surrounding along with the EZ Strips Christmas stamp, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the bird twice from red cardstock, and ink blended it using Brick ink. Once done with the ink blending, I assembled the bird with foam tape in between the two layers. I then got started on the spruce sprigs.

The greenery was cut several times from Fern and Forest cardstock, adding the Diamond Dust to them using liquid glue. Those were all set aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card. The sentiment was stamped using VersaMark Ink, heat set using Princess Gold Embossing Powder and trimmed out using the EZ Strips Rounded Rectangles die.

The background was created using a panel of the forest cardstock that was gold splattered and the Whirl Diamond Plate cut from the same cardstock. That was adhered in place and I began adhering the sprigs in place as well. Some of the sprigs were trimmed off and tucked in different place for a more full appearance. The bird and sentiment were adhered using foam tape to finish up.

That does it for this one! Sorry if you guys are tired of the icy leaves, I’ve just been having so much fun making them! Don’t forget to join the Instagram Hop! Comment along the hop for your chance to win a gift card. Thanks so much for joining me, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp You Can Do Anything

Hello Friend, and thank so much for joining me! I’m back today with a project featuring the Mountain Horizon from Simon’s DieCember release. What are your favorites from the release? I’d love to know in the comments! I’ve already added things to my shopping cart! Let’s go ahead and jump into the details for this one.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

When I saw this Mountain Horizon die cut, I knew that I wanted to try to do something different with it. I thought it might look cool if I only used a few pieces of it to create an abstract design, so that’s what I did! I die cut it from several different colors from my stash and began adhering them to a black splattered panel.

I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink, heat set it using white embossing powder and trimmed it out several times for a stacked sentiment. I added my panel to a black panel for some contrast and secured the sentiment with foam tape for dimension to finish up.

A pretty simple project for today, but I really like how it turned out! I hope you do too! It was just an idea to try to stretch the possibilities for the die. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a great day!

Simon Says Stamp Thanks Leaf Ring

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome to DieCember! It’s my favorite month after STAMPtember! Today’s project is featuring the new Classic Leaf Ring in super fun colors, so let’s go ahead and go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

This die set contains the leaf ring along with a separate leaf die, so I cut the leaf ring once from Rainforest, Sage, Sunshine and gold cardstock. I also cut the separate leaves twice from all of those colors as well. My background was created using the Wistful Leaves Embossing Folder along with the A2 Postage Rectangles.

I wanted some interest on the background, so I splattered it with Raindrop ink before adhering the leaf rings. I adhered one ring down and adhered the next one offset slightly, until they were all adhered. I then went back and added the separate leaves around to make it fuller. I went ahead and adhered the panel to the card base using foam tape and then adhered the sentiment, which was cut once from gold cardstock and tree times from white cardstock.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I always love creating projects with leaves, and this one was no exception. Don’t forget to check out the entire DieCember release over on Simon’s website. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have an awesome day!
