Simon Says Stamp Love You Watercolor Hearts

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! Happy Valentine’s Day to you as well! I made several cards for today’s post using some watercolor hearts that I made using various Simon products. Let’s run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by taping down a large panel of watercolor paper, adding different shades of reds, pinks and an aqua color, which ended up making the purple color. I let the panel dry and used a stencil with various circles to add some white ink. Once those were dry, I outlined them with a Copic Multiliner and did some stamping using a couple of background stamps and VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I was unable to locate one of the stamps that I used, but any text stamp would work just fine. Once I was satisfied with the stamping, I did some gold splatter for added interest.

I pulled several heart die cuts, along with several other design die cuts and cut those. I was unable to find some of the die cuts that I used as well, and I apologize for that, but just use what’s already in your stash. I did edge some of the hearts with a gold leaf pen for some added interest and splattered my card bases and panel with black and gold acrylic inks. Some of the hearts were adhered using foam strips, while some were just glued directly to the panel or card base. The sentiments were cut from several different strip sets and adhered with glue or foam tape.

That does it for this post! I hope you like all of the cards as much as I do. I really had a lot of fun creating all of these projects, and am itching to create another watercolor panel to play with. I’ll list all of the products that I used below, just in case you’re interested. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Just Because Daisies

Hello Friends, and thanks for stopping by to check out today’s project featuring a couple of products from Simon, including the Tilted Daises. This was a quick one, so let’s zoom through the details.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the daisy pieces from white, yellow and green apple cardstock. I did some light ink blending on the flower portions using Honey and Shark inks before assembling them with liquid glue.

The background was stamped onto a panel using Misty Coast ink and trimmed down using the A2 Postage Rectangles. The stems were glued in place atop the panel, while the flowers were adhered using foam strips. The panel was adhered to the card base, and clear drops were added to finish up.

That does it for this one! Thanks again for joining me, and have a super awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Love You Jumbled Hearts

Hello Crafty Friends, and thanks for stopping by! Today’s project is featuring the Jumbled Hearts Background Stamp and the Love You sentiment die cut. Both are oldies, but both are goodies! Let’s run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by stamping the background onto a panel of watercolor paper using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat setting that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. The panel was then taped to a board, and I sprinkled some Nuvo Shimmer Powders on it and spritzed with water. The colors that I used were Catherine Wheel and Cherry Bomb. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the Cherry Bomb on Simon’s website, but you might be able to find it elsewhere. I love these two colors of shimmer powders because of the different pinks, and yellows that you get, which in turn then creates some oranges.

Once the panel was dry, I used the A2 Postage Rectangles to trim it down, and then added some black to some of the hearts using a Copic Marker. The sentiment was cut once from glossy black cardstock and three times from regular black cardstock. Those were all adhered together for a stacked sentiment and then adhered to the panel using foam strips.

That does it for this project! A pretty simple and easy card, but I love the different colors mixed with the black sentiment. Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Dumpster Fire

Hello Crafty Friends! I know that I haven’t been too active lately, and I apologize about that. I’ve been taking some time to get my crafty mojo back, and what better way to do that than playing with this fun, snarky set from Spellbinders! Not too many people know me personally, but I’m all about the snark, and I love this set! Let’s go ahead and run through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the pieces of the Dumpster Fire from various colors of cardstock from my stash. I did some ink blending on the fire pieces before assembling everything using liquid glue.

My background was cut using the Nested Postage Label and Tags set, and splattered with the same inks that I used for the ink blending. I stamped the sentiment on the panel using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, heat set it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and adhered the dumpster using thin foam squares. The panel was then adhered to the card base using regular foam tape for even more dimension.

That does it for this project. I think it’s a fun project, and I can’t wait to create more! Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you have a spectacular day!

Simon Says Stamp Peaceful Bird

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! We are celebrating the DieCember release with a super fun Instagram Hop, so be sure to check that out for your chance to win a gift card to the Simon’s website! Who doesn’t love winning gift cards, am I right?! Today’s project is featuring the new Flourish Bird in an icy surrounding along with the EZ Strips Christmas stamp, so let’s go ahead and get into the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the bird twice from red cardstock, and ink blended it using Brick ink. Once done with the ink blending, I assembled the bird with foam tape in between the two layers. I then got started on the spruce sprigs.

The greenery was cut several times from Fern and Forest cardstock, adding the Diamond Dust to them using liquid glue. Those were all set aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card. The sentiment was stamped using VersaMark Ink, heat set using Princess Gold Embossing Powder and trimmed out using the EZ Strips Rounded Rectangles die.

The background was created using a panel of the forest cardstock that was gold splattered and the Whirl Diamond Plate cut from the same cardstock. That was adhered in place and I began adhering the sprigs in place as well. Some of the sprigs were trimmed off and tucked in different place for a more full appearance. The bird and sentiment were adhered using foam tape to finish up.

That does it for this one! Sorry if you guys are tired of the icy leaves, I’ve just been having so much fun making them! Don’t forget to join the Instagram Hop! Comment along the hop for your chance to win a gift card. Thanks so much for joining me, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp You Can Do Anything

Hello Friend, and thank so much for joining me! I’m back today with a project featuring the Mountain Horizon from Simon’s DieCember release. What are your favorites from the release? I’d love to know in the comments! I’ve already added things to my shopping cart! Let’s go ahead and jump into the details for this one.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

When I saw this Mountain Horizon die cut, I knew that I wanted to try to do something different with it. I thought it might look cool if I only used a few pieces of it to create an abstract design, so that’s what I did! I die cut it from several different colors from my stash and began adhering them to a black splattered panel.

I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink, heat set it using white embossing powder and trimmed it out several times for a stacked sentiment. I added my panel to a black panel for some contrast and secured the sentiment with foam tape for dimension to finish up.

A pretty simple project for today, but I really like how it turned out! I hope you do too! It was just an idea to try to stretch the possibilities for the die. Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have a great day!

Simon Says Stamp Thanks Leaf Ring

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome to DieCember! It’s my favorite month after STAMPtember! Today’s project is featuring the new Classic Leaf Ring in super fun colors, so let’s go ahead and go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

This die set contains the leaf ring along with a separate leaf die, so I cut the leaf ring once from Rainforest, Sage, Sunshine and gold cardstock. I also cut the separate leaves twice from all of those colors as well. My background was created using the Wistful Leaves Embossing Folder along with the A2 Postage Rectangles.

I wanted some interest on the background, so I splattered it with Raindrop ink before adhering the leaf rings. I adhered one ring down and adhered the next one offset slightly, until they were all adhered. I then went back and added the separate leaves around to make it fuller. I went ahead and adhered the panel to the card base using foam tape and then adhered the sentiment, which was cut once from gold cardstock and tree times from white cardstock.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I always love creating projects with leaves, and this one was no exception. Don’t forget to check out the entire DieCember release over on Simon’s website. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Pink Poinsettia

Hi Friends, and thanks so much for joining me! I’m back today with a project featuring the new Layering Pine Sprigs from Simon’s latest release, And Everything Nice. Let’s get into the details for this one, and a little back story of how it came about.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the sprigs a bunch of times from Fern and Forest cardstock. I assembled the pieces and set them aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card. I die cut the sunflower from pink cardstock three times and did some ink blending using Carnation ink. I cut the center of the flower from Green Apple cardstock and assembled all of those pieces together. For some interest and shine, I added some green gems to the center.

Now for the back story .. I had all of the assembled pin sprigs on my desk when I received a phone call from my daughter, so I sat playing with them and moving them around when they ended up in this starburst pattern and that’s how this particular design came to be. I had originally planned on just having them here and there around the flower, but I like this better! I die cut the Acorn Bundle from Desert Storm and chocolate and ink blended that using Mocha ink.

My background was created using the Snowflake Burst Pinpoint Plate and I adhered the sprigs in place using liquid glue, while the flower and acorns were adhered with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black and heat set using clear embossing powder. It was trimmed out using the coordinating die cut three times for a stacked sentiment. That was also added using foam strips to finish up.

That does it for this project. I hope you enjoyed it! I know this is technically a sunflower die cut, but I thought it was fine to use it as a poinsettia. What do you think? Don’t forget to check out the entire And Everything Nice release over on Simon’s website. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Simon Says Stamp Triangle Trees

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m so glad you stopped by for today’s project featuring the new Triangle Whirl Trees from Simon’s latest release, And Everything Nice. There is a Triangle Tab die cut that these trees work with, but I wanted to create a card instead, so let’s go through the details!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by die cutting the trees several times from Green Apple, Fern and Forest cardstock colors. I then did some ink blending on the edges of the lighter trees using Field and Artichoke inks.

Once I was done with my ink blending, I went ahead and gold splattered all of the trees. While those were drying, I die cut the Simple Peace once from gold cardstock and twice from the Forest cardstock, adhering all of those together for a stacked sentiment. I cut a panel of cardstock and arranged my trees and then used Press n Seal to pick them all up.

I applied liquid glue to the back of the trees and adhered them to the panel, trimming off any excess. I did have to go back in and apply glue under all of the overlapping layers to make sure that everything was secure. I adhered the panel to the card base and glued the sentiment in place to finish up.

That does it for this project! I hope you enjoyed it! I really love the look of all the layered trees on this one. Don’t forget to check out the entire And Everything Nice release over on Simon’s website. Thanks again for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Stamp Ride or Die

Hello Friends, and thanks so much for stopping by! The And Everything Nice release is live, and I’m back with a different project! I received the Angel Wings Stencil in my package, and the only thing that I could think was to pair it with a skull/skeleton. Don’t ask why, it’s just what happened! I have no explanation, so I just went with it!

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I began this project by working on the wings first using grey, red and pink inks. I’ll list all of the supplies at the bottom of this post, if you’re interested at all. I pulled out a panel of watercolor paper and got to work on my inky background using various sprays.

I will add that I stamped some things onto this panel, but you can’t even really tell in the pictures. I think the black ink was absorbed into all of the sprays that I used. I also used some embossing folders from Sizzix, which aren’t even made anymore. I’m not very good at mixed media, so there’s that! I did use my sewing machine to sew a very crooked zig zag line down one side of the panel for some added interest.

I stamped the skull and skeleton using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat set those using clear embossing powder. I added some shading using Copic Markers as well as adding some color to tone down the white using a water brush and Fawn ink. I fussy cut those pieces and added some metal gears using liquid glue.

The edges of the panel were distressed before adding the wings, skelton and skull with foam tape. The red heart was cut using the Clipping Heart die, and the sentiment was made on my computer. The inky panel was added to a black panel before being added to the card base to finish up.

I’ve said it before, I’m not very good at mixed media, but it’s fun to try! Maybe I’ll get around to using the Angel Wings Stencil for its intended purpose one day! Head on over to Simon’s website to check out the full And Everything Nice release! Thanks again for joining me, and I hope you have an awesome day!
