Simon Says Stamp You Did It Alcohol Ink

Hello! Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far! I’m back with another card featuring goodies from the latest Simon release, Yay You! If you know me, you know that I love stand-alone die cut sentiments, and today’s card is featuring just that! The new You Did It die cut! So, let’s go through the deets for this one!

I wanted a super simple card so that the sentiment would stand out and be the focal point, so I rummaged through my background box and found an alcohol ink background that I thought would be perfect. This particular background is using glossy cardstock along with Ranger Deception Alcohol Pearl Ink.

Once I decided on a background, I used the PinkFresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to trim it down and give it a little interest along the edges. I also splattered the panel with Liquitex Iridescent Bright Silver Acrylic Ink.

I die cut the SSS You Did It once from SSS Matte Silver cardstock and twice from black cardstock and adhered those together using liquid glue, but offsetting them just slightly to create a shadow effect. As I always say, every card seems to need leaves and this one was no exception. I used the SSS Etched Meadow Flower and Leaves to cut a few leaves from black cardstock, as well as Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock.

I trimmed the leaves down and adhered them underneath the sentiment using liquid glue, and adhered the sentiment with glue as well. I also had to add some PinkFresh Studio Silver Metallic Pearls for some added bling and interest. The alcohol panel was adhered to a black panel using foam tape and then to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner.

That does it for this one! Alcohol ink backgrounds are great, because I feel like you really only need a good sentiment and some small design elements to make a gorgeous card. Thanks again for stopping by! Have a great one and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Totally Amazing

Hello Friends! I hope you are doing well! I appreciate you stopping by today to check out my card featuring the new Arches Stencil from Simon’s latest release, Yay You. I’ve had so much fun playing with goodies from this release! Let’s get into the details for this one!

I began by trimming a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock to a mini slimline size and adhering the stencil to it using masking tape. I used Turquoise Sea Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K on this one. Once I got a good layer, I set that aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

For the sentiment, I stamped the You are Totally Amazing, which is from SSS Clean Line Stacks set, on black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I also used the coordinating die to trim it out, along with two more and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

While I was die cutting, I die cut the SSS Delicate Leafy Branch a couple of times from black cardstock as well. I love the contrast that black elements provide on a card.

Now that the stenciled panel was dry, I decided the placement of the design elements and glued the black leaves underneath the sentiment and adhered the sentiment using glue as well. That panel was then adhered to a black panel using foam tape before being adhered to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner.

That finishes up this card! It’s always fun to use gels and pastes on cards, but I need to be better about sealing mine up, because they are becoming dried out. I hope you have a wonderful day and don’t forget to stay awesome!

Simon Says Stamp Grungy You Did It

Hello Crafty Friends and thanks so much for stopping by! I’m participating in an Instagram Hop today to celebrate the newest Simon Says Stamp release, Yay You. There’s loads of inspiration and lots of chances to win a gift card by commenting along the hop, so be sure to check that out! I’m referring to today’s card as grungy because it mixes a lot of different elements, with a focus on the You Did It sentiment. So let’s get into the details!

I knew that I was wanting a funky background for this one, so I pulled out a panel of Mixed Media paper along with some Ranger Gloss Sprays in Lime, Lemon, Ocean, Turquoise, Fuchsia and Magenta and got to work adding colors and splatters while letting it dry between applications. Needless to say, this background took quite a while to make. I let it dry between applications because I found that if I didn’t, I was getting more muddy colors.

Anyhoo, once I was satisfied with the look of the background, I used the PinkFresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to trim it down to smaller than an A2 card. I then popped it in the Misti for a little stamping using the Stampers Anonymous Glitch 2 set and VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Once the stamping was done, I heat embossed that using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.

I die cut the SSS You Did It once from SSS Holographic cardstock and twice from black cardstock. I cut the shadow once from black cardstock as well, and adhered all of those together using liquid glue. That was then glued directly to the panel. For a little extra added interest, I added a tiny heart from Doodlebug Designs.

The assembled panel was then adhered to a black panel using foam tape before being adhered to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner. I had also splattered the card base using some of the gloss sprays.

That finishes up this project! I always love making mixed media type projects even though I don’t do them very often. It just feels so carefree and that’s super awesome! Simon Says Stamp Good Day Peony Blossom

Hello Friends and thanks for stopping by! The newest Simon Says Stamp release, Yay You, is a gorgeous one, and I’m playing with the new Sketched Peony Blossom Foil and Cut set! Have you jumped on the foiling band wagon yet? I did a while back, and I just love it! Let’s run through the details for today’s card, shall we?

To begin, I foiled the Sketched Peony Blossom several times on some Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using Spellbinders Rose Gold Foil and colored them using Copic Markers R00, R11, R20 and E02 and a Multiliner to add the black detail to the centers of the flowers. While I was foiling, I went ahead and used the PinkFresh Studio Solid Hot Foil Plate to foil the negative pieces as well. Once all the peonies were done, I used the included, coordinating die to trim them all out.

I used the SSS Privet Branch and cut some of those from blue cardstock, as well as some vellum. The background needed some interest so I opted for the PinkFresh Studio Simply Diamonds and adhered that directly to the card base using liquid glue.

To assemble the card, I glued the solid foiled peonies to the colored peonies. I adhered the leaves to the card base using glue, and adhered the peonies atop those using foam tape for dimension.

The SSS Sentiment Strip was glued directly to the flower and I added some pearls to finish it up.

Simon Says Stamp Have Faith

Hello Crafty Friends and thanks for joining me! Simon’s latest release Yay You is live and it has so many awesome goodies! Today’s card is featuring the new Arches stencil, so let’s run through the details!

To begin, I secured the Arches stencil to a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock and began ink blending using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Carnation, Lemonade and Seafoam. Once the ink blending was done, I trimmed the panel down to a mini slimline size and adhered it to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner.

I used the SSS Well Wishes Stamp set for the sentiment and stamped the have faith sentiment using VersaMark Ink on black cardstock and heat set that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I also stamped the sub-sentiment using the same. I used the coordinating die to trim out the main sentiment and a paper trimmer to trim the smaller sentiment.

I die cut the SSS Etched Crocus Stem three times from Neenah 110lb cardstock and adhered those to the ink blended panel using liquid glue.

I adhered the sentiments using foam tape for dimension, and added a few jewels for some bling. Everything was then adhered to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Lined Rainbow

Hello Crafty Friends and happy Friday! I’m participating in an awesome Instagram Hop today to celebrate Simon’s latest release, Happy and Joyful! Today’s project is featuring the new Lined Background stamp, so let’s run through the details!

I began this project by stamping the Lined Background stamp onto a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Peony, Sunbeam and Surf. I applied the first ink to the stamp and softened the edges of the ink using a blender brush, and stamped it on the panel. I cleaned the stamp and moved on to the next color, softening those edges as well. By using just those three colors and allowing them to blend through the stamping, it rounded out the rainbow effect.

Once the rainbow panel was complete, I trimmed it out using the PinkFresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Rectangle. I also used the smaller set of the rectangles to create this black frame. I stamped the sentiment, which is from the SSS Spring In My Step set, onto black cardstock using VersaMark Ink and heat set that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I then used the coordinating die to cut it out. I used the die to cut two more blank sentiments and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

To assemble the card, I glued the black frame to the rainbow panel and adhered the sentiment in the bottom corner using foam tape. The panel was then adhered to a black panel using foam tape again. Yes, lots of dimension!

Everything was then adhered to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner. And of course, I had to add some black jewels to finish up this one.

Simon Says Stamp Take Care Lisianthus

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by! Today’s card is featuring the new Lisianthus stamp from Simon’s newest release, Happy and Joyful. This is such a gorgeous release, but I say that about all of their releases! So, let’s run through the details of this project!

I began by stamping the floral image from the Lisianthus set on a panel of cold press watercolor paper using VersaMark Ink and heat embossing it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. Once that was done, I began to watercolor the image in a very loose manner.

The mediums used were Distress Ink ReInkers in Kitsch Flamingo and Mustard Seed. I also used Concord and 9th’s Oceanside liquid watercolor. When the painting was done, I used the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to trim it out.

For the sentiment, I chose to use the SSS Take Care. I die cut the sentiment three times from black cardstock and adhered all of those together using liquid glue, and then glued it directly to the watercolored panel.

The panel was then adhered to black cardstock using foam tape. I opted to use foam tape to keep the panel from warping once it was on the card front. The panel was adhered to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner. To finish up, I added a few PFS Jewels to give it a little bling.

Simon Says Stamp Just Because Flowers and Instagram Hop

Hello Friends, and thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a wonderful day! There is a super fun Instagram hop going on today to celebrate the new release, Hello Gorgeous! There’s also lots of gift cards to be won! So be sure to stop over there for your chance to win! For today’s project, I’m once again featuring the new Folk Art Flowers background stamp. Let’s run through the details!

To begin, I pulled out all of the flowers and stamped just the leaves on a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using SSS Pawsitively Saturated ink in Sage. I then popped all of the flowers back in the stamp and carefully removed the leaf portion from the Misti. I then stamped some of the flowers using SSS Peony ink, cleaned the stamp, and re-inked with some SSS Sherbet ink. I did use a blender brush to soften the hard ink edges.

Once the stamping was done, I did so some light ink blending over the entire panel using SSS Aspen ink. I used the PinkFresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to trim the panel. I added some dots to the flowers using a gold metallic pen for some added interest. I decided the panel still needed something, so I spritzed it with some water, and splattered it using Royal Talens Amsterdam Light Gold Acrylic Ink.

While that dried, I die cut the SSS Just Because sentiment once from polished gold cardstock, and twice from Neenah 110lb, adhering all of those together using liquid glue. I also die cut the shadow once from black cardstock as well. I glued the sentiment to the panel and added some PinkFresh Gold Metallic Pearls, because we all need bling!

The panel was then adhered to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner and that was then adhered to the card base using foam tape for added dimension.

PinkFresh Studio Framed Sunflowers

Hello Friends and thanks for stopping by! I’m so glad that you joined me for my project today, which features the newly released Sunflowers Washi from PinkFresh Studio. I am in love with all of PinkFresh’s washi tapes! They make for such easy, yet beautiful projects! If you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend them! So, let’s go through the details for this project!

To begin, I rolled out the PFS Sunflowers Washi onto a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock and ran it through to die cut it using the coordinating die. Once I had all of the pieces, I began working on the design of the card. I used the PFS Diagonal Stitched Plaid to cut a panel of Neenah 110lb, and I used the PFS Stitched Scallop Square to cut those from the same cardstock.

I did some light ink blending on the stitched plaid background using PFS Sunshine ink before adhering the stitched frames using foam tape. I set out to arrange the pieces of washi atop the frames to figure out the placement. Upon doing so, I decided that I needed some gold leaves, so I used the PFS Leafy Branch die to cut that from polished gold cardstock.

I arranged the flowers and leaves and adhered those using a combination of liquid glue and foam tape, tucking pieces under to fill in the gaps. Once everything was assembled, I adhered the sentiment, which is from the PFS Celebrating You product suite. I already had this sentiment made in my stash, but to make it, I used Spellbinders Champagne Foil to foil the thinking of you sentiment, and trimmed it using the coordinating die. I also cut it two additional times and glued all of those together. The sentiment was then adhered to my project using the same combination of glue and foam tape for support.

The panel was then attached to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner, and PFS Gold Metallic Pearls were added for that additional pop of bling!

PinkFresh Studio Brighter Days Floral

Hello Crafty Friends! I hope you’re having a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by today! For months I’ve been buying new things from each PinkFresh Studio release and not using them .. my got up and go, got up and went, and took my creativity and motivation along with it. I think it was a combination of the studio being under renovation and not being able to be in there on a regular basis that took it’s toll! I’m hoping it’s back though! Anyhoo, today’s project is featuring the Brighter Days product suite, so let’s go through the details!

I ended up making two cards with the amount of flowers that I created, and I still had extras! So, I began by foiling the PFS Brighter Days Hot Foil Plate on a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock, using Spellbinders Champagne hot foil. While the foil system is hot, I always like to go ahead and foil a few of whatever I happen to be working on.

Once the foiling was complete, I used the PFS Brighter Days stencil set along with PFS inks in Sparkling Rose, Bubblegum, Sweet Mustard, Mint, Fresh Pear, Ocean Breeze, Aquamarine, Soft Lilac and Lavender to add color to these gorgeous flowers. I then used the coordinating die to cut them all out. I think that I ended up foiling five panels, so I had lots of flowers and leaves!

Next, I die cut two panels using the PFS Sparkling Diamonds, and I die cut one PFS Stitched Scallop Square and one PFS Stitched Scallop Circle using the same Neenah 110lb. Those were then adhered to the background panel using foam tape for dimension. I began arranging the flowers and leaves atop the frames to determine placement. In doing so, I decided that I need some additional white leaves for filler. I die cut the PFS Curvy Foliage a couple of times, as well as, the PFS Leafy Branch.

The sentiments used are from the PFS Celebrating You product suite. There were hot foiled using the same Spellbinders Champagne Hot Foil, and die cut three times and stacked together for dimension. I absolutely love stacking sentiments! I just love the detail and height that it adds!

Now that I have all of the components for the cards, it’s time to start assembling. The frames were already adhered to the background panel, so I began tucking and adhering the white leaves first using liquid glue. Next came the green leaves, and finally the flowers. All of these were glued in place since I already had dimension from the frames. I didn’t want the cards to end up too bulky! I adhered the sentiments using foam tape, added some PFS Sparkling Champagne Pearls to both cards, and attached everything to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner.
