Simon Says Stamp Birthday Wrinkles

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by for today’s project featuring the Radiating Squares Stencil set from Simon Says Stamp’s newest release, Good Luck Charm! Have you checked out the release yet? I love sentiment sets, so I was thrilled to see a few of those in this release! Let’s get to the details!

I began this project by adhering the first stencil to a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using masking tape. There are a total of four stencils in this set, so I pulled out four inks for the ink blending. I ended up using Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo, as well as, PinkFresh Studio inks in Candy Violet and Lavender. For the ink blending, I used a heavier hand at the top and a lighter hand near the bottom creating that ombre look. I used a different ink for each stencil layer and just made my way through the stencils.

Once the ink blending was done, I trimmed the panel using the SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames and set that aside while I worked on the remainder of the card. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment, which is from the SSS XL Greetings 3 set, onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat set that using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating die to trim that out, along with two additional dies and adhered all of those together using liquid glue.

I wanted to add a sub-sentiment, so I found a SSS Sentiment Strip that I thought would work. I adhered the main sentiment to the panel using glue and adhered the sub-sentiments using foam tape for dimension.

The ink blended panel was then adhered to a black panel using foam tape, and everything was then adhered to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner. No card is complete without bling, so I added a few PinkFresh Studio Silver Metallic Pearls to finish it up!

Simon Says Stamp Birthday Background

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome to another Simon Says Stamp release! Good Luck Charm is live and ready for your viewing pleasure! My project today is featuring the new Basic Box Card Happy Birthday. Let’s run through the details, shall we?

I’ve really enjoyed making backgrounds with sentiments lately, so I decided to hop on that bandwagon again for this one! It’s such a great way to stretch those sentiment dies, or even just stand alone dies! Anyhoo, I began this project by ink blending a large panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sweets, Blush, Sunshine and Surf. Once that was done, I die cut enough sentiments to cover an A2 card panel. I also cut them a second time for stacking purposes, and adhered them together using liquid glue.

I cut another panel of Neenah 110lb cardstock using the PFS Diagonal Stitched Rectangles and splattered that using Royal Talens Amsterdam Oxide Black Acrylic Ink. You guys know how much I love my black splatter! Once that panel was dry, I began adhering the sentiments in rainbow order using liquid glue.

Because the background was so colorful, I decided to downplay the floral elements by cutting the SSS Etched Crocus Stems from Neenah 110lb cardstock and leaving those white. I adhered the background panel to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner and I adhered the flowers using glue. I found a coordinating SSS Sentiment Strip and adhered that over the stems using foam tape for dimension.

Everything was then adhered to the card base, and I added some PFS Jewels to finish it up with some bling.

Simon Says Stamp Thank You Vines

Hello Lovelies! I hope your day is going well! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my project featuring the new Exotic Vines Embossing Folder from Simon Says Stamp’s newest release, And Back Again. Let’s go through the details!

I began this project by spritzing a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock with water before placing it in the SSS Exotic Vines Embossing Folder and running it through my die cutting machine. Be sure to check Simon’s website for appropriate sandwiches for the different machines. That was super helpful for me!

Once the panel was embossed, I trimmed it down using the Honey Bee Scallop A2 Card Frames and ink blended that using Distress Oxide Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. I then sat that aside while I worked on the rest of the card. I decided on an A7 card base, which I splattered using Royal Talens Light Gold Acrylic Ink.

I die cut the thank you sentiment, which is from SSS Handlettered Greetings, once from mirror gold cardstock and once from Neenah 110lb, and adhered both of those together using liquid glue. I also die cut the SSS Privet Branch twice from the same mirror gold cardstock. I needed another layer, so I cut another panel of Neenah 110lb using a larger die from the same Honey Bee frame set.

I adhered the sentiment to the embossed panel using liquid glue and trimmed off the excess. The embossed panel was then adhered to the white scalloped panel using foam tape for dimension. The leaves were glued underneath the scalloped panels with the leaves peeking out from the edges for added interest, and everything was then adhered to the card base using SSS Dot Tape Runner. I added a few PinkFresh Studio Gold Metallic Pearls to finish up.

Simon Says Stamp Hello Friend Snowflakes

Hello Crafty Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m still playing with goodies from Simon’s newest release, And Back Again. Today’s project is featuring the new Mini Slimline Snowflake Window stencil. Let’s go through the details!

I began by attaching the stencil to a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using masking tape, and began to do some ink blending using Distress Oxides in Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina and Chipped Sapphire. Ink blending and stencils are so great, because a beautiful image comes together so effortlessly!

For the sentiment, I used the SSS Snowflake Season Stamp and Die set. I selected the sentiment and stamped it using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I then used the coordinating die to trim that out.

The card needed some interest so I pulled out some black and white twine and wrapped it around the trimmed down card towards the bottom and tied a knot. I then adhered my sentiment atop that using some foam tape. I also added some pearls, which I thought was a nice addition.

Everything was adhered to a black panel using SSS Dot Tape Runner, and then adhered to my card base, which I had splattered with Royal Talens Oxide Black Acrylic Ink.

Simon Says Stamp Silent Night Birch Trees

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome back! I’m so glad that you stopped by! I’m still playing with goodies from the latest Simon Says Stamp release, Handmade Holiday. Today’s project is featuring the new Slimline Birch Trees Stencil. Even though this is a slimline stencil, I ended up making an A7 card. Let’s go through the details!

I began the project by ink blending a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. I did have to set that aside for a while to dry before proceeding with the stenciling. I positioned the stencil over my panel and used masking tape to hold it in place. I used a VersaMark Ink pad to smoosh the ink over a single tree and heat embossed it using SSS Detail White Embossing Powder.

I repeated this process several times to have multiple trees on the panel. Then, I splattered the panel using Royal Talens Titanium White Acrylic Ink to resemble falling snow. I cut some “hills” from Neenah 110lb cardstock and adhered the bottom hill to my panel using liquid glue, and adhered the top hill using foam tape for dimension.

The hills were then smeared with liquid glue and sprinkled with Distress Mica Flakes. I also added a little bit of glue and mica flakes in the bend of the branches as well. I used the Silent Night sentiment from the SSS Clean Line Christmas set, and stamped that using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.

I used the coordinating die to trim the sentiment, and cut two other times and adhered all of those together using glue. The sentiment was then glued to the panel just above the hills. Something was missing though! I die cut the SSS Sophie Snowflake twice from Neenah 110lb and glued those to my panel, trimming of the excess as needed. The panel was adhered to a black panel before being adhered to the card base, which was also splattered with Liquitex Iridescent Bright Silver Acrylic Ink. For the finishing touches, I added a few PinkFresh Studio Silver Metallic Pearls.

Simon Says Stamp Starry Night Before Christmas

Hello, Hello, Lovelies! How’s it going? Have you checked out the new Simon Says Stamp release, Handmade Holiday, yet? What are your favorites? What have you ordered? Inquiring minds want to know! For today’s project, I’m featuring the new Night Before Christmas Stamp. This is a pull apart stamp, and is so much fun to work with! I’m going to have to consider getting some of their other pull apart stamps for sure! Anyhoo, let’s get to the details.

I began by trimming a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock down to just smaller than a 5×7 card panel, and began ink blending using Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Villainous Potion and Black Soot. Once that was all blended, I splattered the panel with Liquitex Iridescent Bright Silver Acrylic Ink. I also sprayed a mixture of water and iridescent Pearl Ex over the panel for some shimmer.

Once that was dry completely, I popped it in the Misti and stamped the sleigh portion of the stamp using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I repeated that process again, but stamping in VersaMark for the second time. I do this because it’s less visible if it stamps even the slightest bit off due to paper warping from the heat. By heat embossing it twice, it gave the black a much smoother finish.

I decided on the Merry Christmas sentiment from the SSS Clean Line Christmas stamp set for this card. I stamped the image on Neenah 110lb using the same ink and embossing powder as before, and used the coordinating die to trim it out. I trimmed it again and glued those together. This was adhered to my card panel using liquid glue. After looking at the panel, I decided that it was missing something. Don’t you just hate that?! Because then you have to figure out what it’s missing!

I finally settled on adding some stars to the background, so I used the SSS Mini Stars Party die to cut those from glitter cardstock in the various sizes. The larger stars were adhered using foam tape, while the smaller stars were adhered using glue. Everything was then adhered to a black cardstock panel before being adhered to my card base, which I splattered with some Chipped Sapphire Distress Spray Stain for some added interest.

Simon Says Stamp Magnetic Friend

Hello Lovelies, and thanks for stopping by today! I’m thoroughly enjoying Simon Says Stamp’s new release, Peace on Earth! Today’s project is featuring the new, super cool, Magnetic Embossing Folder! So let’s hop right into the details for this one!

I began by trimming an A2 panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock and did some ink blending using Distress Oxide, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Broken China. This is my favorite rainbow color combo! Once the ink blending was done, I ran the panel through in the SSS Magnetic Embossing Folder.

To be completely honest, my paper cracked while running it through with the embossing folder, so to remedy the situation and cover up those boo-boos, I pulled out a nail buffer that I use in the craft room. I just rubbed that over the top of the panel and distressed it a little more, revealing the white underneath. Voila, crisis averted!

I die cut the SSS Friends Die three times from black cardstock and adhered those together using liquid glue. I did trim off the “s” from Friends to suit my purposes. I also rummaged through my SSS Sentiment Strips to find an appropriate sub-sentiment for this card. Both of the sentiment were glued directly to the panel.

The panel was then trimmed down to just smaller than an A2 size so that I could layer it atop a black panel using foam tape. I always love incorporating black into my cards! That was then adhered to the card base, which is Neenah 110lb. I added a few Studio Katia Onyx Crystals to finish it up.

Simon Says Stamp Interlocking Leaves

Hello Lovelies! I hope you’re doing well! Thanks so much for stopping by. StampTember is always so exciting with all of the new products! What are your favorites from the release? Today’s project is featuring the Interlocking Leaves Background stamp, so let’s just get right to it!

I began this project by stamping the Interlocking Leaves on a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat embossing it using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. I then pulled out some fall-ish colors for some ink blending.

The Distress Oxide inks that I used were Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Fired Brick and Twisted Citron. Once the ink blending was complete, I cut the panel out using PinkFresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Rectangles, and started on the sentiment.

I opted for the SSS You’re the Best die. I cut it twice from black cardstock and once from Mirror Gold cardstock. I removed the letters for “the best” on one of the black die cuts, and inlaid the gold letters in their place using liquid glue. I adhered the rest of the sentiment to the shadow and glued it to the ink blended panel.

This panel was then adhered to a black panel using foam tape for dimension, and everything was then adhered to the card base, which is also Neenah 110lb. No card is complete without embellishments, so I added a few PinkFresh Studio Gold Metallic Pearls to finish it up!

Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Hello

Hello Crafty Friend, and happy StampTember! StampTember is always so exciting! So many new products, and so many awesome collaboration sets! To celebrate, we are having a huge blog party! There will be tons of inspiration AND a scavenger hunt for exclusive codes to the Simon Says Stamp store! Today’s card is featuring this new, awesome, Fine Petal Background Plate. Such a cool plate to play with! So, let’s get right into the details of it.

I began by ink blending a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock using Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Broken China. I then used the SSS Fine Petal Background Plate to cut the ink blended panel using the Gemini Jr. I did have to run it through about four times to get a really good cut.

Once the panel was cut, I zhooshed most of the petals to give them some good dimension! I left some petals near the bottom un-zhooshed, is that even a word? Anyhoo, I left some flat so that I had a place for the sentiment. I then adhered the ink blended panel to a black cardstock panel using liquid glue. I thought the black background made a bold impact against the rainbow!

Next, I used the SSS Hello die and cut that from black glossy cardstock three times and adhered all of those together using glue. I also cut the shadow once from vellum and glued that behind the sentiment. This was then glued to the panel near the bottom.

This panel was then glued to the card base, which is Neenah 110lb. This was a super simple and quick card, but I love how it turned out! I really love the black elements combined with the rainbow colors!

Simon Says Stamp Kindness Matters

Hello Crafty Friend, and happy StampTember! This is my second StampTember, and it’s always so exciting to see all the new products and all the new collaboration sets! Have you taken a look at the release yet?! There’s 150 Simon brand products released today, can you believe that?? Today’s card is featuring the new Leaves Wreath Stencil with some ink blending, so let’s get right into it!

I began this project by attaching the first stencil to a panel of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock, using masking tape. I used my usual rainbow line-up of Distress Oxide inks, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Broken China, for the ink blending. I removed the first stencil, and attached the second stencil for the detail.

For the second stencil, I smooshed a VersaMark ink pad over the entire stencil to get a good coating, and then heat embossed the detail of the leaves using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. Once done with the panel, I splattered it using Royal Talens Amsterdam Light Gold Acrylic Ink, and set it aside while I worked on the sentiment.

For the sentiment, I chose the SSS Kindness Matters die and I cut that twice from black cardstock and once from Gold Mirror cardstock. I made sure the letters stayed in one of the black die cuts, and popped them out of the second black die cut. This is because, I’m going to inlay the gold letters atop the black ones. I put foam tape on the back of the black die cut to ensure that the letters stayed in place and then adhered the second black die cut to it using glue. I then inlaid the gold letters using glue as well.

I adhered the sentiment to the center of the ink blended leaves using the foam tape that I had already put on the back. I then used PinkFresh Studios Gold Metallic Pearls to adhere to the dots that the stencil creates. I then adhered the panel to a black panel using foam tape, because I always love to use black on my cards. It just gives a lovely contrast in my opinion. Everything was then adhered to the card base, which is also Neenah 110lb.
